CVS Pharmacy

We were visiting from out of town and my son got sick. I was able to get in right away. The staff was extremely helpful and professional. The pharmacy staff was very accommodating as well.

Went to the Minute Clinic today for allergies/​sinus infection. I was given an estimated wait time of 18 minutes but I was seen in about 10. My doctor was efficient and quickly gave me a prescription and good advice about what over the counter meds to take.
I went to the pharmacy and my prescription was filled in about 5 minutes.
All in all, I was in and out the door in less than half an hour.
They gave me the exact service I needed quicker than I expected. If I have issues in the future, I’ll definitely be back.

Comme tous les CVS… Pratique pour trouver les produits de première nécessité. Médicaments, produits d’hygièné, petite alimentation, etc…
Côté tarif… Rien d’exceptionnel, voir pour certains produits plus chers qu’ailleurs…
Le CVS a l’avantage d’être ouvert tous les jours de la semaine, et pour ceux qui ont besoin d’un produits rapidement c’est donc pratique.
Le concurrent direct de CVS est à quelques pas de la… Walgreen a ouvert un espace à peu prêt similaire, mais avec moins de choix de produits…

I went to the minuteclinic for an infection. I waited for half hour and was seen by Lauren Davis. She was super curt and borderline rude as soon as I walked in and it only got worse. She took turns barking at me and her assistant. I don’t understand why she was so frustrated or if she’s just an unpleasant angry person. She didn’t give me any space to ask questions. I even had to ask which medicine she was giving me since it didn’t look like she was going to tell me, just send me to the pharmacy. She gave me no instructions on how to take it, or if I should avoid any foods, or do anything else to help with the recovery. And she just got up, opened the door, and basically pushed me out.
I came back three days later because the medication didn’t work and was seen by a superb friendly NP and was very happy with that experience (she gets the stars). She was thorough, kind, and made sure I was informed.

I went to the Minute Clinic before work because I had an infection. I saw a nurse practitioner, Ms. Istomina, and she was a total pleasure to deal with. Very direct, very good at explaining things, and had me in and out the door in half an hour. My antibiotic prescription was filled at the pharmacy in about three minutes flat. I made it to work about twenty minutes before I usually arrive. It was great!

The pharmacy staff is quite good. I have been called when there is a delay in filling a prescription due to availability or pending insurance approval. Over the counter items are not organized in a logical fashion. Non pharmacy items such as batteries, dental floss, and batteries are expensive. CVS pushes house brands for a number of products and the quality is often sub-​par. For example, CVS dental floss tends to break between the teeth.

This is a giant confused labyrinth of a store. This is the second CVS I went to in a row that had a non operating passport photo machine. The salespeople were unapologetic.

The minute clinic does not live up to it’s name. I waited 2 hours to see someone. I will never go again.
When I finally got called the nurse was really nice, attentive, and helpful, but she seemed a bit scattered. She apologized several times for the long wait and said it was normal to wait over an hour, as she is usually the only person on duty. She also gave me a free first aid kit for waiting so long, which was random but nice I guess. It had bandaids. Lol.
But yeah, don’t come here unless you have absolutely nothing to do all day. The MEDICS USA office on 16^th St. is much faster.

Every night when I’m shall I say «toasty» this cvs is my go-​to. Heck, even when I’m not toasty I love it. It’s big in size, selection, and the staff is always friendly. In fact, if there were table and chairs I would probably pull up a seat and ask for a menu. They have thinkThin «high protein» bars, a product that I am always looking for and rarely find in other pharmacy stores like Walgreens. To finish my review, I like having the option of either checking out myself at the self-​checkout or having a staff member check me out him or herself at the counter. Rain or shine, breakfast or dinner, day or night — you can find me at CVS on M street.

So I needed to transfer a prescription and used their online prescription transfer system. It was such an easy process, I was amazed by how efficient it was.
It was too efficient, actually.
My prescriptions were supposed to be ready at 5pm. I went in at 7pm because I was working late. They had no idea I submitted anything. Come to find out they don’t check their prescription transfer system and my prescription was sitting there all day.
So now I sit and wait for them to call the other pharmacy and fill my order. I am hungry and want to go home.
Argh.

Worst Minute Clinic EVER! I waited for a PPD testing for over 2 hours before being seen. I would not recommend this location. There are two more minute clinics in the DC area… go to them!!!

This CVS is such a complete dump. The place is ALWAYS understocked. Like seriously, every single time I come here the shelves are completely empty. As if the quality of the store isn’t bad enough, the workers are the most lazy bunch I have ever met. A guy who was dressed as the manager didn’t even greet any of the customers nor ask if they needed help. And the cashiers are so lazy, they will find any excuse to send you to a machine so they don’t have to ring you up even if you ask multiple times to be physically rung up. The location is convenient, but the horrific service makes me want to start going to the walgreens across the street instead.

The pharmacy here is quicker than mine in Fairfax, VA. I did have some issues when I was here one time processing a prescription but it was not the pharmacy’s fault. Other times I normally call ahead and pick up my prescriptions on my lunch break.

Horrible service, even from the manager. I am sick and tired of poor customer service. When I told the manager that I was going to put a review on Unilocal and that I would never shop there again, she could care less. She obviously does not care about her job.

This is your average CVS that sells newspapers, groceries, medicine, fills prescriptions, and sells packs of gum. Nothing special, just reliable.

Had an rx called in by doctor so followed up 45 minutes later. Pharmacist Ashenafi Lemma picks up and extremely rudely says she has no record. When asked to check the voicemail, she says she is busy and hangs up. Visit the store 1 hr later to be rudely told that rx won’t be ready for people like us.
Ok so when will it be ready? She says come back in a few minutes. Went to lunch and came back 30 minutes later to again be told directly that it was not ready. So we asked when it would be ready … Ignored! Waited in lobby till another gentleman was gracious enough to say ok I’ll help u. He got the rx and I was off. Only 2.5 hours later
Got back to the office and realized I wasn’t counseled for the new meds and the pills didn’t even match up the pill identification box on the bottle

This is no 24-​hour pharmacy, and suggestions (by CVS) to the contrary are, shall we say, totally misleading. However, it is a nice, quiet, ample store and one of the few CVS where you don’t have to say «excuse me» all the time as you pass other customers.
The reason why I don’t give this a five star review is that during the summer its air conditioning system did not seem to be working — at least in the front part of the store. No Washington DC store should have less that perfect air conditioning during the summer — the weather at that time of year is intolerable.
Also, the music is too loud at times.
But it’s one of my favorite CVS’s because of its pleasant architecture and the lack of crowds.

Positives:
–Open 24 hours
–Helpful staff
–Self-​check out machines
–Shelves are almost always stocked
–Items that should be on sale are tagged properly
–Never have had a problem with a sale item not registering at check-​out
–Big space, so it never feels crowded
Negatives:
–None!

I love, love, love my neighborhood CVS., Especially the sweet Ethiopian cashiers who are working the midnight shift and are incredibly civil (sweetest women and men I’ve EVER had help me in any DC CVS — mostly, I get the type like the gal at the Dupont Circle CVS with gold ‘grill’ and nasty knuckle tats that was pissed off that I had the nerve to stand in her line — AND ask her to ring me up a pack of cigarettes.
The pharmacists bend over backward to help give fast, efficient and downright friendly advice and meds. There’s always at least three people helping… Two years ago? Completely different story. There was only one very overworked person and the lines were ten deep.
Aisles are stocked well, managers always visible and rush in to help reduce a backed-​up cashier or broken scanner.
A rat running down the aisle? Come on Unilocaler… it’s DC for heaven’s sake. Rather see one here than in the high end Ritz next door — you know they are there too!!! LOL!

A «24 hour» pharmacy that has to shut down their system for two hours makes it a 22 hour pharmacy.
This place is good for late night runs and closer than the 24 hour Dupont but it’s still a CVS. The employees seem apathetic. In fact, one of the pharmacists muddled a request, leaving me unable to get a prescription due to aforementioned system shutdown, despite dropping it off hours before. During my two hour wait one of the pharmacists was nice enough to inform me about the wait. Four times. «Thank you, sir, but I’m waiting because one of your co-​workers messed up even though I made it clear I needed this item at this time.» It was like I was annoying him by quietly sitting there.
It is one of the more well-​stocked CVS’s I’ve seen. The layout is counterinuitive but I think that comes from the space it’s in — it was clearly not built to be a CVS originally. Random items, I guess the most shoplifted ones, are under lock and key.
I’ve had strange things happen to me here. Once, two children were selling candy out of milk crates in the aisle. Another time, I went with two others and we all independently came to the conclusion that OMG! Queen Latifah was in CVS right this moment! OMG! I’ve seen a woman bring a dog into the store to wait for her prescription — WTH? The asthmatic with allergies waiting for meds because of the sketchy CVS system probably doesn’t appreciate that.
If it’s a late night run, just go down 22^nd to Walgreens and get a fountain drink to sip while you make those necessary purchases, it’s better even if you decide to forego the ginormous soda.

My review is in between 2 and 3 stars. It’s not a bad store, but it’s not the most impressive CVS. I’d give it 2.5 stars, but rounded down because Walgreens is on the other corner and I’d rather walk a little farther and go there.
I can’t agree with Gigi’s review about this place being well organized. It’s a typical CVS, but I felt it was really awkwardly laid out. This may be because of the way the store is designed, but I wandered around and discovered a second section that’s accessible by a ramp.
It was well-​stocked, but I ended up wandering the entire store at least twice trying to figure where the things I wanted were. Personally, I’ll cross the street and go to the 24 hour Walgreens instead of coming back here.
