I am only 7 minutes away and wanted to order $ 200.00 worth of food. I ordered twice already from them. They said I was too far and hung up. Get your stuff right. That’s ridiculous. I’ll take my business somewhere else.

I work in the area, if I need a a quick bite I’ll call in a order. Problem is, no matter how far in advance you call, you still have to wait for your order, which can be daunting. Food is pretty good for a carryout though.

I sometimes visit this area when I’m working offsite at another location for my job and Eddie’s is usually our go to spot when it’s time to break for lunch. I can’t speak for anything other than the steak and cheese; it’s all we order and I’ll I’ve ever had from here. It’s good and plentiful. We get two wholes to split among the four of us and we all like everything on them. It’s basic carryout food that tastes a little better than average in the steak and cheese department so if a steak and cheese is what you are craving; you come here. Not many great spots left that makes a killer steak and cheese so even when I’m at home and I’m craving one, I will make the trek here from MD.

Unforgivably rude. The order arrived in a somewhat timely fashion, but we didn’t know he was here until we got an angry call from the restaurant itself saying to hurry up. I run downstairs, and there’s not a soul outside. I stand and wait for a few minutes before coming back up, and as I get to the third floor someone outside starts laying on their horn. He must’ve honked fifteen times before I made it back down, and he confronts me with an attitude about my phone number. He and the store had the same phone number, I don’t know why he couldn’t figure it out and they could, but he was real sanctimonious about«calling us seven times»(that did not happen) and where was I and blah blah blah. It’s amazing he had the nerve to get short with me, when he was the one that said he was outside and he wasn’t anywhere to be seen. His last words as he was pulling off were«F*** off, a*****e.» Exactly how I feel. And they didn’t give me my fried rice.

This is the worst restaurant in DC. Customer service was horrible, food was cold and inedible. I wouldnt take my worst enemy to eat here. Avoid this place at all cost if you want to live another day

Eddie’s has been around since ’55, and they offer a pretty extensive menu that includes items such as pizza, subs, bbq-ed spareribs, hot/cold sandwiches, Chinese food(noodles, yat, chow mein, fried rice, egg foo young, beef/chicken/shrimp/pork entrees and lunch specials), seafood, and chicken. It is mostly a carry-out, but they do have some limited seating within if you want to dine-in. I’ve heard about their famous Steak & Cheese, so I ordered a 6-incher with just onions, Provolone(you can also opt for American cheese), and mayo — this was just okay; I did notice that the meat quality was good, and it was extremely generous in portion; however, the sandwich itself was just too bland, and there wasn’t much melding of the flavors with the mayo and the steak juices. I also tried a slice of the cheese pizza(which is more like a personal 4-piece pizza(!)); probably tastes better when cold?), as well as Chicken Fried Rice. The Chicken Fried Rice contained dark meat, which I didn’t really care for; however, the fried rice itself was actually pretty tasty! It wasn’t salty at all, but you can request extra soy sauce packets and a little tub of hot chili oil to mix it in. I thought it was pretty good, and I’ll probably just order the regular Fried Rice without the meat next time! To wash it down, I had a ½ & ½ with sweet tea and their lemonade; a little sugary, but it was still refreshing and tasty. The staff here are very sweet and friendly, and they really take the time to prepare your food, all freshly-made. They also deliver to the Capitol Hill/Downtown/NE area, and you can also fax-in orders. I thought the place was pretty good, and I’d love to come back and try out their wings, their ‘extra thick shakes, their Chinese dishes, and their fried seafood(like the fried jumbo shrimp or the fish sammy). :D +Fried Rice(forego the meat!) — don’t forget to request soy sauce and hot chili oil +½ and ½ +delivery to Capitol Hill/downtown/NE; $ 15 minimum +friendly staff

Bulletproof glass aside, this place is EVERYTHING! My husband grew up in DC and when he took me here for the 1st time, we stopped at Eddies. For the past 14 years every steak & cheese I’ve had here has been delicious. The sandwiches are amazing because they do not skimp on the steak, plus they will add whatever you want to it(I need jalapeños). If you’re in DC make sure to stop by Eddies! if you don’t care for steak & cheese, they have everything from pizza to Chinese takeout.

7÷24÷2012 Hey I don’t do carry outs no more. During my days of chasing after live bands and coming home around 2am these are the few spots that are opened. What I do get from Eddies is the Pizza. Pepperoni, Sausage and Onions… not the fat onion bits but tell them to head over to the guy whose bout to sauté’ the fine onions for the steak and cheese… YESYES… use those thin sliced onions. You will thank me. They put mounds of cheese on their pizza… not the best sauce put it is very doable… You will be surprised at how great their pizza taste. I have tried their Steak and Cheese way back and its a pile of meat on a soggy sub roll… you know how take out can be with steak and cheese… I don’t go for Chinese Food at this place but go for the PiZZA it is very good. But you have to order what I put on it to make it the best.

surprisingly wonderful place for chinese food too. The kung pao is spicier(in a good way) than in most of the area restaurants, and while the peppers, carrots, and peas suggest an over-Americanized version of this dish, I totally love the taste.

Eddy’s has THEBESTSTEAKANDCHEESE. …Period! I keep hearing about this place or that with good S&C and I’m always disappointed. I’ve gone to Phili and had Pat’s and Geno’s along with some others. They just aren’t all that. So this place is a bank store, meaning you have to place your order through 2 inches of ballistic plexiglass and retrieve your change and sandwich on a lazy susan, but man is it worth it. I think I heard the original Eddy’s(Eddie Leonard’s) was around since the 50’s. This is obviosly not the same owner but I’ve stopped by here on occasions for the last 20years and not a lot has changed. The twelve inch is Massive so you better be hungry if you go that route. There is so much meat on this thing it will not stay closed. I’ll post a picture so you can what happen is you let go of the sandwich after unwrapping. PLEASE Let Me Know if you know of BETTER, I’m alway willing to put another place up against Eddy’s…just to keep them honest.

This place is your typical DC carryout. Bullet proof glass, extensive menu to include rotisserie chicken, subs, chinese food, pizza, salads and probably anything else you can imagine. I had the rotisserie chicken with fried rice. The rotisserie chicken was delicious, it rivaled boston market and was half the price. My meal came up to like $ 5 and some change. One weird thing about the chicken though is that I found it to be really greasy, I would have imagined it being less greasy due to it being rotisserie roasted. The fried rice was typical carry out fried rice. This place also sells wine coolers and beer. I’ve never seen a DC carry out offer a 40 oz on its menu but I guess this place is in touch with its community.

The cleanest carryout around with the nicest server and they serve beer for carryout until 10p on the weekdays and I think midnight on the weekends excellent for those of us in this new revitalized H St District the pickins are slim especiallt late night for those of us that dont like disgusting mystery meat carry outs
