A few friends and I ended up at Union Station for lunch after a rally at the U.S. Capitol. At first the service was friendly and fast. That changed halfway through our meal after we asked if we could pull up another table to accommodate a couple of friends who had texted to say they were on their way as well. At that point, Shuga (our wait person) became clearly irritated and served us in stony silence. Not only that, she proceeded to make sure her coworkers were aware of how put out she was with us. The food was ok and the price was reasonable, but I don’t think I will be going back if the wait staff is going to make it clear that the patrons and any requests they may or may not make are clearly an inconvenience to them.

I stopped in because they had a sign outside advertising $ 0.99 hot cocoa. I asked for the dollar cocoa, and the guy at the counter asked what size. I said, «whatever size is the dollar cocoa» and gestured at the sign. Then he told me my total was $ 2.74. The guy at the counter disagreed with me that I ordered the dollar cocoa and tried to say that it was already made (which it clearly wasn’t). I asked for him to return the dollar I had already handed him multiple times and he refused. I coughed up the tax for the dollar cocoa and he gave me a cocoa packet and a cup of hot water. Sorry, I could have made hot water and a cocoa packet myself. It felt like a huge ripoff all around and I couldn’t believe how rude the guy at the counter was. Never going back!

I’ve been coming here for year and some change.
For some period, they changed management and it sucked. But I came back today and the previous management was there! I’m so glad because they are so friendly!!!
I come here with client and they treat her so well and like normal customer. I really like that.
Their food is decent and affordable!!!

A place to get a quick bite to eat while downtown at court. They serve a decent breakfast as well. Right next to the Judiciary Square metro.
