I paid for accident forgiveness. You are supposed to be protected from a surcharge due to your first at fault accident. After an accident to my suprise my rate didnt go up!
That is untill my next renewal where I was up-​charged for the ticket for that accident. They said we are charging you for the ticket not the accident. Has anyone ever had an «at fault» accident and not gotten a ticket? So essentially geicos accident forgiveness is a scam and they need to pay that accident forgiveness surcharge back to their customers for false advertizing.

A Geico client smashed into my parked truck. They paid for the damage, but when it came time for the rental car they denied paying the insurance coverage. This cost me over $ 300 out of my pocket. Geico is a hustle and scam. DO NOT USE THEIR INSURANCE.

I wish I could rate GEICO lower. Horrible customer service. In my experience, they were not honest when investigating a claim. I am going to cancel my policy.

A couple things about Geico to share to customers and would be customers.
1. I have had my vehicles insured through Geico continuously for the last three years. This was done initially on a joint insurance policy with my wife, and on May 18^th, after she and I decided to divorce, I set up a policy for my own car and motorcycle. At the beginning of my relationship with Geico, I acquired a CDL class A through a professional training course. By any reasonable metric, this would make me a safer and more aware driver. I did the same in getting a motorcycle license. On top of that, I went through an American Driving Academy drivers Ed course prior to getting a license.
2. Since being insured by Geico, I have been involved in one accident. (I was stopped at a traffic light and was not at fault when I was struck by another vehicle.) The agent I filed the claim with clearly stated that I was not at fault in the incident in question. There are no speeding tickets or violations on my record, no convictions for any wrong doing. Nothing.
3. When I set up my individual policy, I informed the agent that I was about to move and that once I was settled in, I would update all of my information. I asked her at that point to send me an e-​mail regarding autopay for the reduction to my premium that would allot me, as well as a notification via e-​mail or text when my bill was due. She assured me that this would be done. (As a side note, I had to file a claim about two weeks later. The e-​mail address they had on me was the wrong domain, I gave them an iCloud e-​mail address, they entered G-​mail. I corrected that on the 5^th of June.)
So here’s what happened next. I received an e-​mail today telling me that my coverage had been cancelled as of the 15^th. To clarify, I did not get the notifications I had asked for, and my policy was cancelled; whereupon I was told about it FOUR DAYS later. Being a responsible person, I immediately called Geico back to get the situation resolved. I paid the past due balance for my insurance,(No issue there, the fault was mine.) and asked to get my policy reinstated. I explained that I had requested a notification for when the bill was due as I would be in the middle of a move but hadn’t received one. Further, I explained the whole «I was in the middle of a move and divorce, etc. etc.»
Then they told me what my new premium would be. Almost DOUBLE what I had been paying. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone informed me that the lapse of coverage had affected a tipping point that placed me in a higher risk category. I asked him exactly how that was calculated — what other factors are there on me that a four day lapse (which I corrected IMMEDIATELY upon discovery) would somehow be the straw that broke the camel’s back. In response I got a vague answer about the computer system and metrics, etc. In other words, no answer at all. I then asked him whether or not I would be considered lower risk if I renewed my policy six months down the line. I’ll say this much, the guy impressed me by telling the truth. 3 years… I can expect to be categorized as a low risk driver about 3 years from now. That honesty was the only reason I renewed my policy today, however if this is not corrected, I will be shopping around for a new policy when the time comes.
Geico, this is absolutely unsatisfactory. I am still in a state of disbelief over the fact that despite my being a professional driver, with a near spotless MVR, and a solid 3 years of being a loyal customer; at the first mistake, I wasn’t given a courtesy call or e-​mail, I wasn’t provided a grace period, or for that matter, I wasn’t NOTIFIED FOR FOUR DAYS that you CANCELLED my policy, leading to your unintelligible computer metric categorizing me as a higher risk for the next three years of my life. Further, I asked about the ability to appeal the decision and speak on my behalf; the agent told me that there really wasn’t any way to do that.
So for the customers and would be customers of GEICO auto insurance, let my story be a lesson. Do not ask this company for help in something as simple as an e-​mail notification on your bill due date. Make sure you write it down on your calendar or something. This company is happy to separate you from your money, and the moment that it is convenient for them to make an extra buck, your information will be entered incorrectly and if life gets in the way for you, even for a moment; you’ll find yourself paying double the premium that you were at only a few days earlier.
I’m not here to cuss, or place a profanity laced review on Geico’s Unilocal page. I’m simply here to let you know that you have failed in your commitment to customer care today. This situation is pure insanity.

Having similar problem with a claim. Initially repaired at one of their approved shops in 2009. It needed to be repaired again in 2014 because the paint was bubbling, and again it went to the same shop and supposedly repaired. Now 8 months later in 2015 I’m having the same bubbling of the paint on a different part of the initial repair. I again return but now they are trying to say that I had interim body work done since their last botched repair in 2014. They are now saying that I will have to pay out of pocket for their shoddy work. The only repair that have been performed on this car was by their incompetent workers at their authorized repair shop. I will continue to fight them because I don’t like their implication that I’m trying to pull a fast one. It’s the principle for which I will continue fight.

Freaking garbage, customer service is completely a waste of time, the reps are retarded, not just one, but all. I first got a quote for a lease car and on the date of purchase, the dealer gave me the same car, spec and model but a different VIN #, ok BOOM, my quote jumped up for 20% because the VIN # is different and nothing they could do about it because that’s what their stupid SYSTEM said, according to the rep. Ok fine, I sucked it, they then informed me to take the defensive driving course so I can save 10%, why not huh? so I took the 6 hours course and spent another $ 25, then I applied to my policy and GREAT, my new premium became more than before the discount. Like really? WTF? I called up GEICO and all the rep did was trying to convince me that it was cheaper when I told her it’s not for like 200 times, and she tried to hang up on me. I wasted another hour of my life in a conversation of confusion, waiting and listening to useless garbage answers, the rep finally gave me a bs answer saying that my previous premium was inaccurate, and I wasn’t notified! HOLY SHT, I will not waste another penny on this company. GEICO IS A SCAM, why is nobody suing this company?

A Geico customer hit my car several months ago. It was agreed by everyone that their customer was at fault. The repair bill for my car was paid. They told me to rent a car while my car was being repaired but now won’t pay it.
They claim the check is in the mail. Somehow they think that I believe a check would take four months to reach me.
I just found out they will only reimburse 50% of the rental cost despite consistent reassurance that this was not the case and that 100% of my rental was covered since I was not at fault at all.
I verified the rental car was covered. I called several people to verify this. I even negotiated a ridiculously cheap car and returned it a day early. I tried to keep the costs low and in the end, they are just nickel and diming me.
Of course that person I worked with no longer works there so now they say there is no way to know it was authorized.
Ironically I was looking into new insurance options this week. They must be really cheap because who would put up with this if they were paying a premium.
State Farm charges way too much but at least they are professional.

I’d give ZERO stars if I could.
Complete POS insurance. My car was hit when some crazy person dove straight into my lane during rush hour, hitting their front bumper into my driver side door. The driver was trying to dive into my lane to avoid the backup of left turners in their lane. Since we were both insured by GEICO, the company had, I’ve deduced, a BIG incentive to say that no one was at fault so they could get two deductibles instead of one.
So, even though the other driver admitted at the scene that they were trying to dive into my lane (later recanted), and asserted that I must have been trying to turn left from the middle lane (into a restricted facility, I might add, that I have no business going to — and I could prove I wasn’t going there), because during rush hour I suddenly veered straight in front of them into their lane.
GEICO said «what can we do» and told me to shove off. As I said, their economic incentive was to do so, to save $ 750.
Well, GEICO morons, I’m moving my family’s four cars off GEICO, and I’ve gotten six friends to switch.
GEICO — good insurance if you are a poor driver willing to lie. Because unless you are dishonest GEICO is going to throw you under the bus.

If ur lookin to spend tons of ur own time managing the claims process, #GEICO is for u. Havin just spent 6 months workin through a claim, not a single step in the process ever moved forward unless I personally moved it. Geicos process is #fraudulent they sent my car 2 a non-​reparable body shop. I received car and had 2 spend over $ 3,000 to re-​fix. They insists their insured to use the company they pick for repairs. When repairs aren’t done properly you are left to pay #fraud. Huge disappointment!

Geico is stupid. Customer service sucks and everything sucks about it. Don’t ever insure with this company. Don’t get in a sticky situation like me. Worst experience ever. Cancel their policy right away.

Gecko used to be the best now they are the worst. They cancelled my policy three days after I paid what they told me to pay and didn’t even tell me it was cancelled. All they said after that was «we apologize.» but still cancelled my policy. Now I have to pay MVA a large sum of money. Funny thing about it I didn’t discover any of this until after I paid the reinstllment, because I actually believed I was at fault until I started really looking into it and putting two and two together. They keep calling and emailing now to apologize but they won’t admit they were wrong. Why do they keep calling and apologizing like that makes things alright. They way they did business stinks and so do the repetitive apologies that carry no real solutions. They were wrong and they will not admit it.

Been on the phone on hold for 20 min with no one even picking up the call. Those bastards better be dead over there. WTF

I will not insure with Geico, despite their huge marketing drive to get me to do so. They want to charge a HUGE discriminatory and biggoted premium to insure my husband because he’s only been driving in the US for 3 years (with no accidents and no points on his license). He is a very responsible driver, 45 years old, hasn’t had an accident in over a decade (the accident he did have was in no way his fault), and has driving experience on 3 different continents under conditions far more perilous than those in the US! Shame on you Geico!

Whoever designed the stupid garage at our apartment is so freakin’ stupid! The driveway is so freakin’ narrow and stupid people are driving freakin 80 miles per hour up and down the stupid garage! A car accident is inevitable in that car garage. And yes, I got into one. Ugggghhhh… thank goodness for car insurance!
After a day of crying, pouting, and swearing like a sailor I finally decided to report the accident on their website, which was easy to do. I even made an appointment online to meet with the claim adjuster at Arseen Auto Body Shop, while the body shop looked at the damage. On the same website, I also made an appointment with Enterprise (located at the Arseen Body Shop) to have a rental car ready to be picked up! I did it all in one day in one location! Easy, easy, easy!!!
I gotta give props to Ryan B, the auto damage adjuster for monitoring the repair process for me. He kept me informed of how the repair of my car was progressing. Thank you for the excellent service — prompt and courteous!
