Warning: I have only tried the chicken wings and mambo sauce from this place but they do it well. I’ve had mambo sauce at about 3 different places and so far this is the best I’ve had in DC. The chicken is cooked well and the mambo is great. It is not too sweet and slightly tangy. I would recommend getting the mambo on the fries too. I’m no expert on mambo sauce so take this review with a grain of salt. This place looks a little sketchy but I have never had any problems I guess this depends on what you are accustom to. The people who own the place are nice and will answer any questions you have. I recommend the place and I go about once a month.

Are you hungry and waiting on a friend at the Howard ER? Walk across the street to Jerry’s and get some fried dumplings — you won’t be disappointed. This place is a typical DC carryout — depressingly dingy waiting area, bulletproof glass, and that weird hybrid menu of Chinese-American staples and deep-fried student food. In addition to the dumplings I ordered a General Tso’s combo — the chicken, fried rice and eggroll were fine but not great. Everything was hot and fresh, I’ll give them that. But man, I was surprised by those dumplings! Great texture and flavor — definitely some proper potstickers. Oh, and since the last review they’ve started accepting cards — I used my debit card, no problem. Now that Tropicana is closed and Wilson’s doesn’t appear to be open for dinner, this is the most convenient option to refuel when you’re in the immediate area and facing several hours of tedium at the hospital.

This place is really shady, when i say shady i mean really shady. I eat from here usually when drunk and not making good decisions. This place is a little hole in the wall place across from Howard Hospital. Cash ONLY, and makes some delicious fried foods for the late night crowd. I always end up ordering their Pork Chop Sandwich(Two slices of white toast, Bone-in pork chop deep fried to delicious perfection), Fried Chicken Gizzards, and Fried Rice(Which is overpriced for its worth but tastes so good when intoxicated. I think its the MSG but i am never dissatisfied. In the Neighborhood? Feeling Brave? Hungry for Fried Deliciousness! Stop in!
