Classic hole-in-the-wall with bullet-proof glass and menus taped up everywhere. I have only sampled items from their lunch menu, and they were not thrilling. General Tso’s Chicken, for example, a deathless and ubiquitous classic, came in a thin-tasting sauce with none of the traditional broccoli or hot peppers. The fried rice looked as if it had been dyed yellow, a little alarming. Most unfortunate are the foam containers they use, which reek of polystyrene off-gassing. It materially affects the smell of the food. You have to ask for hot mustard or duck sauce. On the plus side, they’re cheap, six bucks for a filling lunch. Recommended if you’re on a budget and don’t have a bike/car/prosthetic to get elsewhere.

This little place has a huge menu! I live across the street, and was a little skeptical at first. I’m glad i finally tried them out. The prices are very reasonable, and whatever you order it’s clear that they take pride in the preparation. I like the mu-shu vegetable, and the general tso’s bean curd. My roommate always goes for the fried shrimp platter. They also have mock-meat vegan options! For dessert skip the pies, and try the donuts!
