I went to Mill End for some draperies for my living room and dining room. The woman who helped me was very knowledgeable about fabrics and even came to my home with fabric samples to make sure that the fabric and style that I chose worked well. My dining room and living room now look fantastic and I get lots of compliments from my friend. s

I am reviewing the Arlington location — for some reason it is not listed on Unilocal while the others are. I used them once, when they created a slipcover for me in a short time, something i appreciated. I went back last week to commission a second project, but despite the high cost(1800USD for a large window cushion), I couldn’t get any service! Scheduling someone to come and measure the space took almost two weeks. I would call, and they would try to schedule a time to call back and schedule. When they finally came they came the day before the scheduled time. Fortunately I was home. I then waited more than two months, longer than the 4 – 6 weeks delivery time that I was promised, before I called asking for an update. I was told that they couldn’t order my fabric, as it was out of stock. That should be the kind of thing that they call you about, or? I finally went in to choose a new fabric and the staff member present was unable to quote me a new price for what I chose or work out the new total cost — that had to be done later. When the cushion was finally done I was satisfied by the quality, but it took almost six months from start to finish, or more than four times the promised duration. TL;DR Quality is OK, prices are high, service is very slow.

If you are looking for curtains, slipcovers, or anything involving your home and upholstery, you should check this place out. They can help you find what you need, whether you want some cool new curtains or just want to cover up a ratty old sofa. Don’t be discouraged by the weird animal-print patterns in the windows — they have normal fabrics inside as well. They actually have a pretty wide selection, and the store is always very clean and well-organized. This store is located near the Van Ness metro stop.
