I’m not big on pizza bit this place was great! The mozzarella was yummy and the meat was good too. I only wish they had more veggie choices. I also loved the build our own pizza style with quick service.

Ummmmm… where is the fig sauce??? I always top my pizza with the fig sauce. Until I took my mom there a few days ago and was informed that the sauce is not available any longer. Whyyyyyyyyyyyy?

Delicious pizza, knowledgeable staff, refreshing soda. Ingredients were fresh and limited. Employee went above went above and beyond to find my a gluten-free crust. Parking is a little bit of a pain, seating is cozy. My mom and wife loved it. Will come back again when business calls me to Brookland /NE DC.

I went in for pizza tonight and the lady pointed out there was dairy in the pesto even though I hadn’t mentioned my dietary restrictions. This is important because I usually get sick from too much dairy and tend to eat vegan. I was impressed! My pizza was delish.

I stopped in here last October(2015) while I was back in DC for Alumni Reunion weekend at Catholic University! This was my first experience EVER with &pizza and was I instantly hooked! The employees were so much fun and super friendly! You could tell that they really enjoyed their jobs. I loved all of the topping and sauce options as well as the general vibe of the place… which was mostly CUA students. Keep up the great work &pizza! I so wish you had been around when I was at Catholic U(2000 – 2004)! Today’s current CUA students are definitely lucky to have you right across the street! I can’t wait to return this October(2016) when I am back once again for Alumni Reunion weekend! Oh and PLEASEPLEASE come to Southern California!!!

It’s time to download the &pizza app. Once I laid eyes on the Farmer’s Daughter(that isn’t meant to sound dirty, it’s a pizza!), I can’t stop thinking about it. Every time I see an &pizza, I have to go. My Monday night dinner buddy and I were biking through DC exploring Brookland and it was close to dinner time, so why NOT go to &pizza. I’m glad we did because this location may be the coolest &pizza location in the DC metro area. Here’s why: 1) It’s just a few blocks from the Brookland-CUA Metro stop and all the cool shops in Brookland. 2) It’s has a large ampersand sign by the entrance greeting you as you walk in that looks very cool. 3) The high ceiling and lighting. 4) Ample seating from window seating, long tables, and several large picnic tables outside. Of course, the pizzas are on point as always– the Farmer’s Daughter is where it’s at!

Great signature pizza creations and lots of options to choose from for a custom pizza. This particular restaurant is always littered with napkins, food stains, utensils, and cups when I visit. I get that the staff is busy making the actual pizzas, but it’s clear cleanliness is not a priority. It could also be that the majority of visitors are college kids, but even so. Please try to keep the restaurant clean to an extent. The food itself may taste good, but the pizza ingredients must have MSG or something. I feel ill/sleepy after eating this pizza. I must be the only one who has experienced that, but my sister felt the same, so that makes two of us. Yet another Brookland restaurant I can’t go back to. I will say, they have delicious craft sodas.

Great little pizza spot. It is definitely busy during the lunch hour but the line moves very efficiently. I chose the Moonstruck pizza and it tasted absolutely amazing — I also love that employees are careful about keeping everything used with meat separate from things used for veggies. Also — the house made sodas are fantastic.

It’s practically like chipotle but for pizza with amazingly healthy toppings the have vegetarian and vegan options and it’s all set at one price which means you can put as many toppings as you want! So go crazy with your toppings! The place was very clean and modern super friendly staff and it took less than 5 minutes to get my pizza this has now become a favorite spot!

This is probably the most consistent &pizza in the area. The staff are friendly and the lines move efficiently, but more importantly the food experience is consistent for all the times I have been in this location.

I recently had a fantastic visit at this &pizza location. The mamangement and staff at this location have customer service down! Upon eating the establishment, I was properly greeted by the team. The staff behind the counter were prompt and courteous, making a point to ask how my day was going while crafting my pizza. They also did so while maintaining a smile. At the end of the line I was serviced by the manager who also did an outstanding job of being warm and pleasant. The pizzas came out perfectly! &pizza is already a routine stop for me, but this location has quickly risen to be my favorite franchise location. Keep up the good work!

This and the H Street location are my favorite locations thus far… wait wait no ALLOF&pizza is my favorite! LOL having a hard time picking my favorite location so I digress for now ;-) The staff here is always nice and giddy which is what you expect in a Pizza spot. Quick service. The inside is kinda small but they have uutside seating. Clean bathrooms and they do a good job with keeping the inside to include the tables clean. Ingredients are super fresh. I usually order the Maverick(basically all meat) and add bacon, carmelized onions, goat cheese, arugula and garlic sauce… ok I’m drooling now… ending this review so I can head to &pizza! :0)

This &pizza is located in the Brookland area. I was able to try three of their Signature pizzas: the Gnarlic(roasted garlic purée topped with ricotta spread, housemade mozzarella, quattro mormaggi blend, garlic oil, cracked black pepper, and basil leaves), the Farmer’s Daughter(spicy tomato spread, spinach, housemade mozzarella, Italian sausage, farm eggs, red pepper chili oil, and Parmesan reggiano), and the Maverick(classic tomato spread, housemade mozzarella, salami, 39-day aged pepperoni, Italian sausage, oregano oil, and Parmesan reggiano). Out of the three, I was a fan of the Gnarlic(because, who doesn’t like garlic?! It can get a bit overpowering, though, with the heavy garlic purée; however, it is nice and delicious!) and the Maverick(the pepperoni, the salami, and the Italian sausage chunks made this a nice meaty treat!). The staff here were very friendly, and there were a lot of communal-like tables to sit down and enjoy your pie. +Gnarlic +the Maverick +limited parking

I was a bit surprised – it was nearing midnight, and I thought this location would be some combo of crowded/closed/out of ingredients, but this did not turn out to be the case. Plus, there was plenty of parking. I was maybe third or fourth in line, and don’t think I was even in there past the ten minute mark. Pizza(I get the same every time) was fresh, tasty, and hot. Only downsides were the staff, who weren’t super friendly(recently, I haven’t found the staff at any &pizza location to be all that polite or helpful, which is a shame and I hope they turn that around) and that the app wasn’t working.

A lot like Blaze — you can do a create-your-own or order off the menu. I do like the crust better here and I feel the pizza could have been even better had the guy known my take on «light sauce». A friend and I showed up late and the staff was still just as friendly and engaging. I’m not a huge pizza fan, but I would choose this over the larger chains(pizza hit, dominos, & papa johns). What I will go back for, even if I’m not hungry, is their craft sodas. Yummy! Do you guys bottle this? I’d like a 2-liter please. :)

As a veteran of several DC area institutions of higher learning, but not of Catholic, I have to say it pisses me off that CUA(and Trinity, for that matter) has an &pizza right next door. There was never much worth eating at our around UMD, Georgetown, St. Mary’s, or any of my other campuses(seriously, I’m at seven in total and the food sucks at and around all of them), but here they have several nice things, of which &pizza is only one highlight. Maybe prayer does work. That being said, this &pizza location is close to the Metro and is larger than their downtown outlets, making eating in a more realistic aspiration. My latest visit also highlighted the reasons why it brings out the best of the fast casual trend. For one thing, they assemble things exactly the way you want them. Want to mix sauces, cheeses, or anything else? Go right ahead. Half and half? Not a problem. And when I ask them for just a few mushrooms, I get just a few mushrooms. Most sit-down restaurants will look at you cross-eyed if you try this, but &pizza is eater-friendly by design. On the other hand, I don’t ask them to take special care to keep unwanted ingredients off my pizza; they just do that automatically. They just look at it, know that it has no meat, and use the separate green pizza slicer without being asked. That isn’t just good service, that’s good training and a system that works. I’m sure someone working at an &pizza has screwed up at some point, but I have not observed it. And I’m picky. The other thing is the actual stuff you can get. Only here can I, as a vegetarian with selective tastebuds, get a top-your-own pizza at one flat price and not feel ripped off. I still haven’t exhausted the selection of sauces and toppings that I would want to try(let alone the many I personally don’t). Even as a vegan, you could get a Daiya pizza(or a cheese-free flatbread) and get all kinds of interesting toppings. Pizza is an indulgence, but at least here you can get one with diverse and delicious plants on top. I’ve found the best approach is to balance complementary tastes rather than overloading on one. For example, this time I got basil pesto, so I didn’t put basil on top(which I often do) and I added sundried tomatoes on top(which I normally don’t because it’s redundant to the tomato sauce). This worked great. You should always get spicy chickpeas, though. Those are just awesome.

Another &pizza location off the list. Not that I’m collecting pokemon monsters, but this would be my 5th&pizza location through the DMV area, and the service rocked! Example 1: we printed out a piece of paper on instructions on four different pizzas, and they followed it with ease and efficiency. 2: they asked if I wanted them to switch gloves, since they had touch cheese and I asked for soy cheese. 3: they cooked my pizza perfectly with all of my favorite ingredients(½ spinach pesto, ½ roasted garlic purée, spinach, mushrooms, artichoke hearts, falafel crumbs, italian sasuage, pepperoni, meatballs, 2 scrambled eggs, sundried tomatoes, arugula) Pro tip: the garage across the street has 30 min free parking, if you can’t find a spot on the street.

Hey, So, I’m completely overdue for an update. I would like to say that the staff’s customer service at this particular location has definitely improved! I actually had the opportunity to go back both during the lunch hour rush and at night and can speak to both of those experiences! I would really like to applaud &pizza for recognizing a problem and then fixing it! Everything else about the quality of the pizza stands from the prior review!

We came here new years day as we were looking to grab a bite and found few places open. Props for being open! The location is very sunny and nicely laid out. There is no main menu, small menus are located to the right of the store close to the area where one places their order. Though this location offers a few specialty pizzas, it’s easier to get what you want by ordering a custom pizza — all pizzas are the same price. Ordering works in a chipotle/subway style. You pick your crust, sauce, and toppings. They throw the pie through the oven and then they add on follow-on toppings. The employees were very helpful as I was very indecisive. I got the regular crust, spicy tomato sauce and a mix of their cheese blend and mozzarella. The mozzarella is super tasty and made in house! The spicy tomato sauce is spicy and really well seasoned. For toppings, I got the mushroom mix, broccoli, eggplant, roasted red peppers and shrimp($ 2 up charge for shrimp). As additional toppings, I got sun dried tomatoes, basil and a side of the oregano oil. My pizza was incredibly tasty however I wish it had come with a few more shrimp. I highly recommend trying some of the oils on this side. In addition, I sampled a few of their house made sodas. These were on point as well! I really like that all pizzas are the same price, regardless of what toppings you choose. The toppings are high quality and there are tons to chose from, the possibilities are endless. They do a great job of catering to vegetarians and vegans by offering data cheese, falafel crumbles and spicy chickpeas. Id definitely return to this location.

&pizza near the Brookland CUA metro… Passed by the restaurant after attending the Unilocal Bazaar Event. Decided why not get lunch before catching the metro. I grabbed the small clip board with the menu… good grief it was overweening especially because I am so darn indecisive more choices more decisions and endless combinations… which is good for those who like variety. After careful debate I figured if I am going to pay the same price for a specially pizza why not go ahead and. Get myself the toppings that I want and as many as I want. So I went to order… little did I know the set up was for your viewing pleasure you get to see them make your pizza and you get to see the toppings: o) no hidden quality here. If it looks good that’s what’s going on your pizza. Awesome you don’t even need that stupid clip board the staff tells you what it is if you ask. Oh and the fact that it’s whatever you want… I’m surprised people don’t just go ham on the ingredients. So after careful deduction I came up with the following… Dough: Ancient Grains Sauce/Spread:Roasted garlic purée and mushroom truffle Cheese:Quattro Formaggi Blend Veggies: mushrooms & spinach Proteins Falafel crumbles, spicy chickpeas Finishes:Arugula and Proscuitto Results: Pretty good… it was like a hummus flatbread tasting pizza not bad. I do wish I saw the pickled red onions I’m pretty sure it would’ve made it that much more amazing. But either way I am a fan of &pizza the endless toppings the crunch of the crust and the perfect chew to the dough. Fresh toppings that you can actually see. Also the homemade sodas are really good also my favorite being the ginger berry lemonade and the mango & passion fruit. I will be back &pizza that is when I am near by or there is a closer location lol.
