This was my second try at getting delivery from them. The first time I was a little drunk, so I wanted to believe that my pizza showed up looking like a kindergarten class made it because I had made some mistake in my order. I was wrong. It seems the people behind the glass at Pizza Parts and Service just don’t give a crap that you can find better pizza at least 4 other places on H st for half the price. I made my order, asked the order taker to repeat it back, and added«Would you mind taking some extra care with this order? My last one showed up looking kind of nasty». Still I got a pizza that looked terrible. Stay away. You’re better off ordering from Domino’s. At least they have managers that respond to quality and service issues.

What’s wrong with this place? The food is good, but the service is a headache. Getting decent pizza delivered in the H Street can be a hassle. This place doesn’t help at all. They are unreliable and unapologetic. One time, got a call telling me that they didn’t have a driver and couldn’t deliver. Other times, they’ve been out of items. Tonight they were out of salad by 6:45pm. This place is run by amateurs.

Terrible! Never Again! After waiting two hours, we cancelled our order, received a super cold pizza anyway. Guy said he couldn’t find our phone number to call us… it was right there next to our name on the receipt. What the heck! This area is really lacking in pizza delivery.

We all know that DC is a bit of a desert for good NY style pizza, but I will say this is one of the best in DC. I love that they deliver too which is amazing… …but if you want to put on pants and get out of the house, the ambiance inside is cute and clean. I am a classic pizza person, ya know, cheese or pepperoni, but I have gotten a bit adventurous and tried a couple of their others when I am ready to mix things up. They didn’t disappoint. The garlic knots are delicious as well.

I feel compelled to update my original review. I have since moved away, so wouldn’t order from them again, regardless. But the second time we ordered a pizza, we opted for delivery, which was a mess(as seems to be the case with most everyone else who has ordered from them). The order was very late, and when it finally did arrive, we realized right after the delivery guy left that was completely the wrong pizza. Wrong size, wrong toppings. We called, and they refunded the pizza itself, but it was still pretty frustrating. We went ahead and ate it because we were starving, but it wasn’t good. The salad was about half the size of the one we had received when we first ordered from them – but the same price. They really need to get their act together if they hope to make it.

This place should be closed. They forgot to make one of our pizzas and when they finally got around to making it, as our other pizza sat there getting cold, it came out as a soupy mess. They also ran out of salad ingredients and so instead of refunding our money they decided to give us a different salad that we hadn’t ordered. Thanks for wasting our time and providing an unappetizing meal.

My son and I are waiting for our table at a nearby gastropub, and the wait is FOREVER! My son is a teenager, there’s no place for us to hang out while we wait. Soooo, here we are at Pizza Parts & Service. We were warmly greeted as soon as we entered the establishment. I expected the usual DC eye roll and attitude when I informed the cashier that we were only here to grab a drink while we waited for our table at another place. However, she smiled, graciously took our order and told me it was just fine. The soda selection is awesome! And as we sat, sipped, and chatted my son said«I wish they had garlic knots.» And wouldn’t you know it, they do! You get 3 knots in an order for $ 3.20. When we opened the box and foil, you could see the golden reflection of melted processed butter product, granulated garlic, and parsley shining on his face! We hit the jackpot, they were delicious. I can’t speak for the pizza, but they are starting to get a tad busy. Maybe the regulars don’t know about Unilocal yet, but I do and I’m a fan.

Alright, so I can’t speak to the delivery service here, since this place is about four blocks from my house. But the pizza itself is absolutely amazing. Maybe the best traditional pizza I’ve had in DC. Sure, &pizza wins for originality, but when you just want a big slice of hot pizza with lots and lots of cheese and pepperoni, this is where it’s at. I don’t have much else to say beyond that. It’s pizza. We all know the drill. Pizza Parts & Service just does it really, really well. And for cheap – it’s about $ 4 for a big slice. I guess their delivery isn’t great, but if you’re in the neighborhood, I highly recommend this place.

This place has great pizza by the slice. I’ve been here a couple of times and it’s a great way to get a quick bite to eat without spending a lot. They have large, thin slices that maintain their flavor(even if it didn’t come right out of the oven). Also love their beverage options! Not the traditional Pepsi and Coke products!

Disappointing. I was already sad that the best cheesesteaks in dc, Taylor Charles steak and ice had been in this location and closed without warning but I was hoping for some good pizza in a good location so I went with my friend to try it out. The flavor options were decent. I had buffalo chicken pizza and it was fine. However my friend had a piece of hair baked in the crust, like looped in and I can’t get past it so will never be able to go back. They apologized and gave her a new piece and gave us a free cheese cake slice(which I don’t recommend. Extremely bland) but I can’t get past it. Sell cheesesteaks here again! Until that happens, h and pizza is my forever h street pizza spot. It’s worth walking a few blocks down.

Brian S and I decided to go here the other night while waiting for our Lyft to arrive(how else would we get home from H street). I got a white pizza with ricotta that was quite good and reasonably priced. I always disagree that NY pizza is way better than DC’s pizza because I think DC has a lot of really good spots. What NY really does beat us at is pizza by the slice. I am sure I am forgetting somewhere, but off the top of my head I can’t think of a single by the slice pizza place(jumbo slice excluded) in Adams Morgan, Woodley, Dupont or U street. I hope Pizza Parts and Service thrives and we see more places like this popping up throughout the city.

We had a variety of pizzas catered in for an office party and they were easily the most popular of all of the food items we had. The delivery was on time and the delivery person was very helpful with setting up the spread. The pizzas were great quality especially considering how many we ordered. Usually when you order a large amount of pizzas, you can expect the quality to suffer some because making that many pies is no simple task but everybody was very happy with the flavor and texture. It’s not too far from my office so I’ll definitely be stopping by pretty often from now on, best pizza in the area.

I will never EVER order from here again. This place deserves ZERO stars. We are so disgusted right now. First of all, we tried to order from them a few months ago — excited to have another pizza place that delivered to NoMa. Well, they only take orders over the phone, and unfortunately their phones were broken! That was an issue with Comcast — I feel your pain, I think we’ve all been there. We decided to go out to H Street and just eat there instead. Unfortunately, someone had had an emergency medical situation in the building, and they were not serving customers. Oooookay. Again — not their fault, terrible coincidence. Well tonight we decided to give them another try. We ordered at 8:20, and they said that it would be an hour and a half wait. No problem — it’s a Friday night, we’ll eat a snack… Two hours pass, and no pizza, so my husband gives them a call. Apparently their driver broke down, and they had to remake our pizza. You know what — I understand, but why wouldn’t they call to let us know? I mean it still would have sucked that we had to wait so long, but here we were just sitting here wondering where our pizza was! The person on the phone was a hot mess, but he said that they would refund our order, but it was going to be about 30 minutes. What’s another 30 minutes after you’ve been waiting 2 hours? Fine. Well about 20 minutes later they called us back saying that what happened was that they gave the delivery guy the wrong number, and confirmed our number. So was there a breakdown? What is going on? We waited, and after ANHOUR, my husband called again. There was no record of our order in the system at all. No one knew anything. They offered to remake our order and it would be another 30 minutes. Sure enough, they did refund us — THANKGOD. When my husband argued — look guys, we were pretty angry at this point since no one knew anything or seemed sorry — the guy on the phone said that there was one person in the system with his name, read us the order, and it definitely was NOT what we ordered. Wouldn’t you know, as soon as my husband hangs up the phone, someone calls us saying they are downstairs with our pizza. It has been over 3 hours. There is no pizza that is worth waiting 3 hours for. I’m so hungry that I’m not even hungry anymore. I don’t care how good — or hell how bad — this pizza is. This is the one and only time that I will ever eat a pizza from here. Well my husband has just walked in with our pizza and wings that we don’t even want anymore. Also the pizza is wrong, as we asked for no mushrooms. Apparently they DID give the delivery guy the wrong number. The only breakdown here is a terrible lack of communication. Thanks for ruining our Friday night. Now, at 11pm, I will attempt to eat dinner.

Strolls in 10 minutes before they close and orders a large specialty pizza. No grunts from any of the staff. Just back to business, which I appreciated, and believe that’s how a business should operate. If they didn’t want my business, I could of happily walked down to h&. I’ve been wanting to check this place out! A large pie for $ 20 including tax(18′) seems appropriate for a company that makes in house mozz. Hopefully, their other ingredients are top notch too. Ideal size for two people to share. Ordered a number 11, which was a white pizza, with sausage, mushrooms, garlic, basil, and lots of mozzarella. I really enjoyed the pizza. It was crispy, a little doughy the crusts… it was all I needed. Flavorful… a little sweet… and didn’t … anything extra. Perhaps more basil, as one can never have too much. Would I go back? Sure.

This is a great concept that does not meet expectations. The owners have all the right ideas, but they are not following through on them. For instance, PP&S has all fresh ingredients with mozz made daily and dough made twice daily. But neither the mozz nor crust was really that good. They use all fresh ingredients, but they don’t use enough or the ingredients aren’t very good, because the food lacks flavors. The wings had good ideas for flavors, but the actual flavor was kind of disappointing. There is a lot of competition in the pizza and wings business and you just can’t say all the right things but not actually follow through on them. The restaurant has a cool vibe. The chairs are made with reclaimed motorycle parts, the rivets coming from motorcycles. The ends of the tables are made from middle school lockers. We love the reclaimed theme! We also like cool old motorcycles, and that’s another motif. The posters were curated by the owners as well, adding a nice touch. Altogether, this restaurant has great potential and great owners, but it needs a bit of work to become a go-to pizza place.

I like this place. Good pizza and nice local owners. The mozzarella and dough are made every day so expect a little extra TLC in the core ingredients. Bottom line… this place serves a solid thin slice of NY style pizza. The classic red pizza sauce is very good and they have delicious fountain drinks as well. I really like the garlic knots but wish they were served with a side of pizza sauce. I’ve had a few different pies and slices here over the past few months. I’m really surprised the Unilocal reviews aren’t better. Order a pie with a couple of toppings and grab a fountain drink. I think you’ll like this new addition to the neighborhood.

It’s a bummer to me to write this review, because I live in the hood and want to love this place. But the reality is: both the service and the food is mediocre. The food(I had just two slices of cheese pizza, I should say) seems to include cheap, manufactured cheese that made me long for the moment when my eating was done. The crust was soft and cardboard. It’s an attempt at NY pizza without the ability or willingness to go all the way. Which is a bummer that goes even beyond the clear faults of Parts and Service. I’m not from NYC and I’m not a pizza snob. But we all know what«New York pizza» is – it’s still mind-boggling to me that I can go to almost any city, and plenty of towns, and find a good slice of NY pizza, but nowhere in DC has figured it out yet. Anyway, pizza aside, there’s the service. I walked in, ordered two slices, and saw a fresh, almost full pie of cheese za behind the counter. Fifteen minutes later I inquired as to what was up. The girl at the register said they had to cook another one and it would be out in one second and she’d throw in a third slice for the unexpected wait. It wasn’t a few seconds. More than five minutes later I got my pizza — 20 minutes after ordering two quick slices — and the third slice was no longer part of the equation. First-world problems, I realize, but you’d be far better off going to H & Pizza down the street, or Red Rocks, or anywhere else, really.

The sanitary conditions of Pizza Parts and Services is in no way, shape or form acceptable. Seeing what happened Sunday night was so disgusting and surprisingly beat even the horrible experience we had at Steak and Ice(all male employees, no soap in the men’s room = you do the math). We got to PPS and ordered our meal. After paying we examined the receipt to find that they didn’t put in our order of wings and had input a regular not Nonna(thick crust rectangle) pizza. We checked with the girl and were rung up separately for the wings and she gave a verbal to the pizza maker to make it a Nonna instead. Didn’t think it was a big deal since the issue was corrected and the poor girl in the front, nice as she was, was massively swamped with the phone frequently ringing plus taking orders and getting food to customers. Most of the kitchen is viewable to those waiting for food to be prepped and cooked so as we waited we watched. I saw the girl at the front frantically trying to manage the front station and when the pizza maker came over I thought he was going to help her. Instead he picked up his cell phone fiddled with it, put it to his ear and –while still talking on the phone– went back to making pizzas. Didn’t wash his hands. Didn’t put on gloves. When his call was done he put his phone into the back pocket of his jeans and again went back to making pizza with his bare hands. Of note, the gentleman working in the far back near the ovens was wearing gloves. In retrospect I should have said something right then and made sure that the guy washed his hands before he made my pizza but I was just so surprised that I was frozen in disbelief. Instead I stared on, my attention now heightened to all other wrongdoings. Then it became very apparent that the girl, who had been fidgeting with her hair the whole time, was not just taking orders and handing out boxes of pizza — she was also using her bare hands to separate single slices of pizza. Yes she should have had another employee helping at the front of the shop, but she should not have been scratching her head, touching her hair and handling money while also touching food. Isn’t that common sense? Though it’s pretty insignificant to the other problems, our order was off when we got it. We’d asked for no mushrooms on half of the pizza and there were mushrooms on the whole thing(albeit fewer on half of it). Also, despite what some of the other reviews here say, they refused to do a pizza half and half of two different specialties even if they did have the same sauce. And even though they claim they will deliver soon, they were very adamant in person that they don’t and gave no indication that they will. Not sure if the issues here are due to employees being under trained or just not caring… or if it’s something more systemic since it seems like there were similar issues at Steak and Ice. It’s definitely something that needs to be addressed or surely this place will go down the tubes just like its predecessor. At least they’re consistent with their promo video: «this shit is fucked up cuz it’s shady in th[is] biz.»

This would be a one-star review if it weren’t for the fact that they were clearly understaffed last night. OK, I decided to give this place a shot. Wanted a simple slice of pizza, and so H & Pizza was not in the running. As soon as I arrived, it was clear staff was short. However, that is no excuse for how excruciatingly bad the service was. Sure, people were nice, but my god. Problems: — I and at least three others were asked multiple times to repeat our orders. I asked for a single slice of sausage pizza, provided my name, and I was given a ticket, but yet somehow none of that information was retained. — As a result of the above, I decided to simply take a cold slice. I had already waited 8 minutes or so for my slice to be warmed up before being asked to repeat my order. — Cooks in the back were talking on personal cell phones… perhaps they could have helped up front? — Pizza is overpriced for what you get. About $ 3.60 for a single slice(1⁄8 of a pie in theory, but the slices are not evenly cut). For that price, pie should be cut in 6. — I am not deaf, but perhaps the owners could make it a bit easier on the Gallaudet students who are? Asking everyone to give a name for take-out shows a serious lack of knowledge of the area. Two gentlemen behind me were asked to provide names, and had to take out their IDs to do so. I understand there are bumps at the beginning of every operation, but most owners would make sure that an experienced manager is on every shift for the first couple weeks to make decisions/adjustments as they are needed. I can say with certainty that if Pizza Parts and Service does not improve the latter, it won’t last long.

Honestly, I was skeptical. ANOTHER pizza place on H St? But we gave them a shot this weekend, and wow. I’m glad we did! Pizza Parts and Service comes off as a bit over-conceptualized and just a touch pretentious, but ultimately there are two things that matter(food and service), and they did both of those perfectly. We called in an order for takeout and walked over about 10 minutes later. We got the #8, with caramelized onions, bacon, and arugula, and the hot garlic cilantro wings. The pizza was fantastic, and actually cheaper than the two places we usually go for pizza(Marvelous and Sicilian). The wings were the perfect level of crispy and sauced, and the flavor combinations of the sauce were fantastic. Service was great, and they seem like they know what they are doing. I just wonder if they can compete with the established pizza places on H. (But I really hope they stick around, because the food was delicious and we ended up spending about $ 10 less than we would have at another pizza joint!)
