Decided to come here after a long extended version of happy hour with my colleagues. We walked in the crowd was very mature, drinks were popping with light conversation. We decided to go upstairs to the 2nd level where someone was checking ID and taking forever in life. Once we got on the second level it was very dead, the dance floor was empty and the size of a his and hers bathroom. They did have a large screen playing videos with no dj, my colleagues ordered drinks and we danced. After dancing everyone ordered more drinks only to have our chairs snatched by this rude little female bartender. My thing is this your policy states you remove seats at a certain time then state before people by drinks and sit. Not only was she rude but our group made up the entire 2nd floor. After talking to the manager she did apologize but it sounded like the answers beauty pageant contestants give when they don’t know wtf to say. I tuned her out and keep it moving next time since you all want to rudely remove chairs we will pile them up on the dance floor and play musical chairs during happy hour. Management needs improvement

I went to Red Rocks On MLK Monday for brunch because hey it’s an off day; LETSDAYDRINK! The number #1 highlight of the visit would def be the mimosas. Luis was our server and he made certain that our glasses, in his words: «NEVER reached the bottom». These were actually the best mimosas I have ever had at a bottomless brunch. There was no pulp in the juice and you could actually taste the champagne. Not to mention they serve their mimosas in huge wine goblets, not the traditional champagne flutes. Say yes to the mimosas people. Now on to the food. :-(I ordered the French toast, a side of bacon and a side of breakfast potatoes. The French toast comes smothered in syrup. Like they don’t allow you to ration the amount of syrup you want, it just comes out smothered. It made me sad, but I was so tipsy from my mimosas that I didn’t complain. The bacon was nice and well done. The breakfast potatoes were disappointing as they were not really breakfast potatoes at all but roasted red potatoes. Surprisingly, they were actually kind of tasty. My boyfriend opted for his usual, Steak and eggs. He loved his meal which came with potatoes as well. Although I didn’t care much for the food, I can’t wait to return to Red Rocks. They are a pizzeria so I think that is what they do best. It’s like going to McDonalds for a taco.(I was wrong lol) I will return in the evening hours for HAPPYHOUR and to experience the lounge. Kudos to your staff, I did not sit at the bar but the bartender was pretty nice too. Until we meet again Red Rocks.

Went here for brunch for a friends birthday… there were 18 of us and everything went swimmingly. Our server Luis was amazing and got all of our orders correct(which sounds like it should be automatic but believe me, plenty of restaurants screw this up). We had a few«off menu» orders that came out correctly as well– the mimosas and bloody Mary’s were sufficiently strong/not watered down, which is always a plus. Overall, great place & atmosphere for a private party(or brunch) with great food!

A friend and I went in for brunch. Our server was amazing he offered bottomless mimosas and there were really tasty and you could see that fresh champs was poured in. After our first round the pitcher came out. We ordered French toast, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on toast. I also ordered a side of what I though was fresh plain berries or a fruit bowl. The food came out quickly but we were disappointed to see barely buttered toast with a folded omelette like egg and a small piece of salmon on top. We expected a little more umph. It quiet frankly shouldn’t have been on the menu. I think a bit of detail and prevention maybe even a sauce should have went over that dish. Next we tried our French toast which seemed to be made with a multi grain mealy sort of bread. I struggled to eat it but I will say that I like challah or similar bread for French toast. It wasn’t bad I just wasn’t a fan of the bread used. Lastly was my berries if you order I would ask for half the whip cream my ten berries were swimming in it. I didn’t expect to have it covered in all that whip. The mimosas were strong we couldn’t finish them all. That was the best part, plus our server was on it.

Came with Gen-Z babies to a holiday party. Located in the historic H-Street area nestled among & between other places of fun. We got inside & people were dining on white linen table cloths with a flare of various types of lighting & rustic décor. We were ushered upstairs where the special event was being held, & the entire floor consisted of a very long bar, tables, views overlooking the inside of the dining area as well as the passé-rbys on the street. A small dance floor was constructed on the end of the bar, & a small area that looks like it serves as a VIP area when need be. For the music there were videos playing via projection on the brick wall as a backdrop… the space was very industrial. There were only two bartenders for the party that had about 100 people. The female bartender was pint size with a huge attitude… heck if you’re overworked, have more bar hands. Plus I waited 5 minutes for a simple glass of water, until one of the customers who must be a regular, went behind the bar & got me my water. «Uh I was coming» she said, I said, «Uh the bar’s not that big, happy holidays», as she was galavanting instead of mixing & serving. Hence, I was glad my wine was being ordered & brought to me by my Goddaughter… no hidden added items LOL. I just don’t do well with snooty & sassy people & I wanted to stay in the spirit of the holiday season. A very good music mix was playing(I didn’t see a DJ), & we all seemed to be on the dance floor more than sitting at our table… good times. There’s also a covered and heated rooftop terrace, making this a nice 3 level venue. I saw something close to a catwalk as centerpiece… get your runway strut on! Although there weren’t too many ugly sweaters to look at, the overall experience was nice. I did catch myself gazing over the balcony a few times, with a peak interest of perhaps coming back & trying the dining option. If so, I’ll make sure not to go upstairs to the bar LOL.

I’m giving this place 5 stars. They accommodated a group of 12, were attentive, the drinks were yummy and the food was on point. I had the crispy risotto balls(can’t recall the actual name) and the lamb burger. I also tried my coworkers blackened chicken Alfredo. Each dish was very tasty. All of us enjoyed and said we’d be returning customers.

Pricey for what it is, but overall good food and great service. Pizzas good for DC, but not the best I’ve ever had. Salads are average and expensive for what they are.

I am feeling the vibe at Redrocks! This one is one of my go-to bars on H-Street area because you can always find seating(I visited on a Thursday, Friday, and Saturday). The noise-level, regardless of how busy it is, is somehow muffled by the design of the building that you never have to strain to hear the people in your party. Plus, I love the hipster-vibe of the bar, it is both relaxing and chic. The pizzas are on the pricier side, but good quality. I shared a smoked salmon crostini and funghi pizza with a guy friend a few weeks ago, and just the two plates were quite filling! The smoked salmon crostini was especially delicious. The bartenders are friendly and you can find reasonably priced beer options. Tip for these colder days: Sit downstairs by the wood-fired oven for your own fireplace!

*mostly a nightlife review This is a pretty versatile bar on H street. You can get a variety of vibes throughout this place and IMO it’s one of the nicer bars on H as it has been recently renovated to create more space on the 2nd floor. As a restaurant I’ve only had a slice of someone else’s pizza and it was pretty good. I usually visit Redrocks more as a lounge/bar for a late night spot than as a restaurant. Redrocks has 3 floors. Each floor has a ample size bar and I’ve never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be acknowledged for a drink order. Each serves as a dinging area during the day but at night the 2nd floor transitions into more of the dance floor. The top floor has a double sided bar and a roof top deck which is great when it’s warm out. Cold drinks, a little sun and good company makes for a good time. I’ll be honest, late night Redrocks definitely seems like more of 30+ crowd. The music is usually classic hip hop and r&b. It’s never really packed except for the upstairs bar which during the summer can get pretty busy. Honestly it’s always worth dropping in late night to check out, no cover here.

I had a great drink named Buzz Worthy. Really good made with whiskey, honey, grapefruit juice and couple other things. It was really lite and too sweet. Appetizer: Calamari was better than I expected Entrée: Pasta Verde con pollo y pesto –was also good.

The pizza was very good, however the items we ordered off the pizza menu were not great. The Caesar salad was drenched in(not very tasty) dressing and the meatball appetizer tasted like chef boyardee frozen meatballs. The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice. Big open space with a nice bar area. One complaint is that our table was kind of dark. I could barely see the menu and had to squint and use the candle to see everything. Not sure if that was the whole place or just our table though. I could see myself going out there for drinks. Decent beer selection. I think if they can fix the non pizza items, they will improve a lot. I’d just stick with pizza which was pretty good.

We decided to venture down to H St for dinner since we knew that the rest of DC would be crowded with tourists due to the cherry blossoms. After checking out all the recent additions to the neighborhood, we settled on this without consulting Unilocal(our mistake!). The place looked really cool from the outside. The upstairs rooftop was very impressive and happy hour is from 4−7pm everyday(but only at the bar). We were quickly seated. The space itself was very open and modern, however, the rap/R&B music that was coming out of their sound system at a loud volume made me feel like I was in a club rather than a restaurant. We were greeted by our server, who was very friendly and attentive. He took our orders, made cocktail recommendations, poured us our waters and left us to take in our surrounding. My husband ordered the deep fried pork belly, while I ordered the pasta negra. He liked his deep fried pork belly. Didn’t love it. But also didn’t hate it. I hated my dish. It was too salty and the seafood was extremely over cooked(everything had the texture of rubber). I personally would not go back except to enjoy drinks on the rooftop(only if they’re not still pumping out loud rap/R&B music).

Overpriced watery pizza. If you want pizza, go to h & pizza. You’ll save money and eat pizza that tastes good. I’ve been to the Columbia Heights location. The food in that location is much better.

A few friends and I went to Redrocks for dinner, and and while the food was pretty good, the service and management issues were lacking. We were group of five, so we used the opportunity to try a good number of their dishes. We read on Unilocal!about the meatballs, but when I ordered them, they just seemed like regular old meatballs in Redrocks. They were very small and they didn’t seem that special to me. The roasted cauliflower was actually pretty tasty, but the pimento(?) sauce that came with it seemed a bit pointless and didn’t match with the cauliflower. For entrée, I ordered the meat lovers calzone, but with pesto inside instead of marinara. It was very good, and a large portion. I definitely recommend that over any of the pizzas here. However, service issues here were a bit of a mess. This apparently is one of a few locations of Redrocks in DC, but you would think they would have streamlined their menu more. It was half-price wine night on Monday, so we ordered a tempranillo from France, since that’s such a random wine to have. But then when they served it to us, it was some random tempranillo from Spain. It was a printed error on their menu that they’d never even seen. And also with the calzone, it says the pesto calzone comes with marinara, and they also said that was an error. It’s kind of pet peeve when nobody even reads the menu before printing a whole lot of them. The kitchen also dropped a few items from the pizzas that are group ordered, and that’s never fun to tell a server that a few ingredients are missing from the pizza. Overall, the food here at Redrocks is pretty good, and it’s not like I wouldn’t return here for the calzone, they just have to work on a few things.

Red Rocks! *sighs* The highlight of my H Street experience. I would be remiss if I didn’t share my wonderful find in NEDC. From the time I stepped foot in Red Rocks, I loved it. They have a trendy décor that’s fun and not pretentious. It reminds me of Matchbox a bit. The pizza was awesome! I say… better than Matchbox. Anytime I eat the crust of a pizza and think about ordering a second one, we have a winner! Drinks were so good! We had a bartender/waiter named Chad. First of all, he was cute! Second, he gave quick and excellent service. Third, he made some really tasty drinks! He concocted a new drink which tasted similar to a mojito but it was better. I think it had mint, coconut, vodka and some other stuff. Yup, we had about 3 of those and wish I could take some home. Please don’t judge me, I know I’m greedy! We even got a chance to meet Tony, a manager at Red Rocks, as well. He was really cool! I’ve met some snooty restaurant managers. So, it was great to meet one that down to earth and pleasant. Also, we were on the rooftop and was able to see a wonderful view while munching on our pizza. It was a great opportunity to mingle and take pics to post on social media. There’s a dance floor downstairs too. But we didn’t stay late enough for partying. The only down side I can think of would be parking… which is the usual problem in DC. That’s why me and the bestie took Über. Problem solved!

This place is decorated very trendy and hip, so I was excited to try it with a group of people on a Saturday night. We made a reservation in person earlier in the day, and come night they couldn’t locate it right away, which was frustrating because we were a party of 6. We got seated at a high rise table with little room, and extremely uncomfortable chairs. We all knew we were going to try to get out of the restaurant on the quicker side after we were given this unfortunate seating situation. We ended up ordering some appetizers including the arancini balls and chicken pops that tasted good, but were tiny and overpriced– not good for splitting. We also split 3 pizzas which were all very average and loaded with grease. Overall I found this to be an uncomfortable place that takes more pride in appearance than quality.

I heard so much about this place and I couldn’t wait to try it out. However, I was actually disappointed with my dining experience there. Personally, I don’t think there was a good range of options, food-wise. The pizza was decent, nothing special. You’re better off at H & Pizza or Matchbox. The garlic fries was a disappointment. I dunno what I was expecting but I definitely wasn’t expecting chopped garlic on fries. C’mon! Be innovative! The waiter was a stuck-up. So, yeah, my fiancé is a Diet Coke addict. So, yeah, that means his glass would need to be refilled every so often. That doesn’t mean you should comment to my fiancé that«wow, you drink a lot» as if trying to shame him. Nah. I don’t care to return to this place.

3.5 Pros: Bigger than almost any spot on H street but still intimate — each floor/room area has a different vibe Good music Tvs Good for groups Good service Decent prices Fun for dancing on Saturday night Big bar Decent sized menu so everyone can find something they would want Meh: Food is ok nothing to write home about Drinks aren’t very strong Drinks have too much ice even if you ask for light ice in a non mixed drink Loud so not great for date in my opinion

I came here late in the evening for a friends birthday party, and this place did not disappoint. Due to Unilocal reviews, I was expecting long waits and issues, but because DC was in the middle of a snowdown ho-down, it was relatively empty. We headed upstairs to the loft for the birthday shenanigans and drinks. I had heard the pizza was some of the best in DC, and being hyper picky about my pizza(and incredibly hungry), I was ready to put this place to the test. Bartender was incredibly attentive and gave us the full lowdown on what to order and how to order it(they range from medium to well done — didnt even know you could do that). When our pepperoni and mushroom arrived, it was basically perfect. Im not a fan of the blackened pizza, but this dough was so moist and chewy, it was like the pizza oven burn added extra flavor. Our whiskey sours were flawless, making it a great little birthday evening. Am looking forward to more pizza if I’m ever back on this side of town.
