Awful. After too many bad results, this review is a reminder to me and my roommate to never order from this place again. Nothing but undercooked calzones, mushy«garlic bread» and a weird version of pizza fries. The pizza is never anything to write home about either. I just ordered apple pie and its frozen.

Not impressed. The crust wasn’t bad but the sauce was pasty and overly sweet. The delivery guy was friendly and super nice, and delivery didn’t take that long. Wings were ok, but not nearly as good as the wings at DC Smokehouse. Big old pass on this place.

I ordered delivery several times from Pizzaiole and had delicious, but mixed results. The wings from this place are absolutely lip-smacking– a must-order! The fries that accompany the wings are mediocre, at best, limp and undercooked at worst. As for the pizza, I always ordered just a traditional pepperoni pizza and the quality varied. On weeknights and slower nights, the pizza was warm, perfectly prepared with a tasty crust and had just the right amount of sauce. On weekends, the pizza was often cold, made with too much crust, and the sauce was applied so unevenly that some slices had plenty and others had none at all. The cheese sticks are perfectly-coated with cheese, cooked to just the right crispy edged finish, and the accompanying marinara is tasty. Overall, this place is a wonderful pizza joint – just be sure to pick up and take out your order so you can inspect the food for quality or be careful not to order delivery at prime time on a friday or saturday.

Just moved to the neighborhood, hungry from unpacking — disregarded the negative reviews and ordered anyway from Eat24. I asked for light sauce and extra crispy. Delivery took 85 minutes, pizza arrived completely cold… we’re talking it could have been baked yesterday. Sloppy with the sauce and hardly crispy. I gave it a shot, I won’t be ordering from this place again. Pizza hut is better.

I ordered a medium pizza my first time going there and I crushed it to the face. Will be back.

Love this place(because it’s right by my work). I recommend the jumbo slices and mozzarella sticks, but I’ve actually gotten great salads here, too. Prices are spot on with generous portions. I’ve never ordered a whole pizza(some other reviewers say they’re not a good price), only slices and they are very economical. I realize it’s just a take out place but my only suggestion to the owners/managers would be to pay more attention to the décor or lack thereof because it feels like an afterthought.

Their«large» pizza seemed quite small, 13 inches instead of they typical 14 – 16 pizza. Decent pizza, but I would probably go to harris teeter instead. I paid $ 8 for the pizza, and while harris teeter’s pizzas are 10 – 12, you get way more pizza.

Just a quick update to report Pizza Iole is still my favorite pizza place on the Hill! Best pineapple pepperoni slice in the city! Their wings, fries, and gyros are also worth checking out too! Definitely will keep coming back!

I was uncertain about trying Pizzaiole given some previous reviews but I’m glad I did! Excellent pizza, friendly staff, and great prices!

We are visiting and wanted a decent pepperoni pie to feed the family. After reading the not so hot reviews of NY Pizza, we decided to go the extra mile to Pizzaiole. If you like frozen crust, Ragu sauce, and sparingly applied pepperoni this is the place for you. Needless to say we were not impressed. The gentleman running the place was rude on the phone and the food was basically a half-notch above what we could have bought on the frozen food aisle at Safeway. We like to support local businesses, but wish that those who go into business don’t forget to make sure they are selling something worth buying.

Ordered pasta and garlic bread from there. I could’ve made better pasta and garlic bread in half the amount of time they took to deliver it and way cheaper than what they charged for it but I was lazy that day.

Great service when they opened up at 10am and I showed up for a late breakfast pizza slice. Their slices are HUGE! $ 3 for a cheese. When the server brought out the slice I thought it was two by accident. Tastes great too.

Looks pretty good. Definitely glad to have phở nearby but the service is pretty crappy. Menu had toppings that didn’t actually exist like gyro meat. Cashier was rude. Pizza bolis is just as crappy in quality but a hell of a lot cheaper and faster.

Ordered delivery with some friends. Got everything — one pizza, one calzone, one panini, chicken parm, mozzarella sticks. Pizza and mozzarella sticks were pretty good. Panini was not an actually panini-bread wasn’t toasted. The marinara sauce was oddly salsa-like. I’d probably order again cause the delivery was convenient but not if I’m going for any legitimate Italian food.

Wut up fools, dis yo homeboy. Okay, I’m gonna make this quick. Great local pizza place, you can dine in, they deliver, & the food is good. There’s a New York pizza restaurant down the street & they charge like $ 15(average) for a pizza, here, you can get a medium 1 topping pizza for $ 6.99& it’s enough for 2, well, at least for lunch. So, this place is affordable, and the pizza taste a lot better than the New York pizza down the street. It’s a good place, owners nice, he’s very accommodating, and they also have a wide selections of things such as subs, salads, pastas, desserts, chicken fingers, & a whole lot more. Good stuff! I would recommend this place. As for parking, you can park on the side street of the restaurant & about 80% of the time, you can find parking. Also, they are open very late, like up to 12:00 at night time or even later in the weekend!

Worst pizza ever, Been here only once but I’d rather go to McDonald’s, highly over priced, also the lady at he register either was tired or wanted to get off, because she was clearly not interested in being at work on the day I decided to stop in for lunch Will never return, can’t understand why this place is still open.

Pizzaiole used to be the reliable bet for pizza on the Hill. It was closer to real NY Pizza then anything I“d had here in 25 years. But now… ugh. It’s either gone through a change in ownership or it’s secretly a Pizza Bolis franchise(not kidding — compare the two menus. They are IDENTICAL). This did not used to be the case. I’m so disappointed in how much this place has deteriorated in the last year or so. I used to order from here pretty much every other week when we’d have our pizza night. No more. In fact, recently I thought I’d give them another try and see if the trend toward mediocrity had reversed. It had actually accelerated into inedible. The pizza sauce now tastes like ketchup from a jar, whereas before it had a little kick. The cheese is clearly processed, whereas before it was fresher. And the crust is bland. You can almost taste the water it’s so bland. And, to add insult to injury, it arrives about 75 – 90 minutes after you order it. So it’s not only not good, it’s not hot or even warm. Clearly, the business model they’ve chosen is fewer staff, cheaper ingredients in order to maximize profits, but it will probably wind up just going out of business eventually anyway. It’s such a shame. They were really on to something at one point. Don’t wast your time. Order from Domino’s, Papa John’s or Pizza Bolis. It’s not great, but it’s not cold when it comes. Or take it up a level and order from We the Pizza.

Considering its privately owned, and we’re all about supporting local(ESP when it’s not a franchise) this place is a great addition to penn ave SE. These guys take pride in their food and customer service… One night when we had a party and ordered four large pizzas, they gave us two containers of home made rice pudding on the house(for us middle easterners there’s a particular way we make it, and these guys have got it right!!) so now we’re hooked on the pudding too! Have had wings(which they serve with some fries), pizza, and rice pudding, all fresh and delish… Read that some of their other middle eastern fare is pretty darn tasty too… So looking forward to that… Just placed another order now, and am looking forward!

Not to bad. Drove into town and wanted something other than a chain. Found it. Got the supreme. Pizza itself is so so but I will go back just for the crust!!! The crust is the bomb and glad I stopped here for a late night pie.

The jumbo slice is AWESOME!!! Just $ 5 gets you a slice of heaven with 3 toppings. Coming back for more.
