Great pizza on a good night. Can be hit and miss though. Eat in. This pie gets steamed in a box and ruins the crust. By the slice is a nice option. Might as well buy the pie if getting more than one slice. Good pizza by DC standards.

I like Radius and their pizza so it sucks have to give a poor review. Short version: We picked up our pizza but didn’t realize it was the wrong order until we got home. No apology. No offer of money back, free anything, a coupon, or even delivery of the proper order. Had to go back and pick it up. Longer version: My girlfriend and I ordered a pizza when we were about to drive home from across town. It was half such-and-such and the other half whatever. Not terribly complicated but not just a «large pepperoni.» We picked it up, headed home, parked(which can be and was a hassle where we are in Columbia Heights) and got inside only to realize it was the wrong pizza. It wasn’t even just a pick-off-the-things-you-don’t-like-situation because I was hungry enough to do that. Spinach was on the entire thing with cheese melted over it(great if you like spinach on your pizza; I don’t). We called them and told them what happened. They said they could make another in about 15 minutes. We asked if they could deliver it. They said no(even though they offer free delivery and we’re only about a half mile away). So I gave up the parking space that was a hassle to get and went back to pick it up. The guy there just handed to me with out saying«sorry for the mistake» or anything like that. I said, «you know, it would be nice if you could make us feel like you value us as customers, said sorry, and maybe offered some freebie or money back or something.» He hemmed and hawed, looked flustered, and said«Uh, I guess I could give you a couple sodas.» We don’t drink soda. I said«Never mind» and left. Parking was an even bigger hassle when I got home. This isn’t the end of the world. First world problem, for sure. Sometimes restaurants make mistakes(I worked in quite a few when I was younger). And the guy I dealt with seemed like a perfectly nice guy. So…I think this is a management issue. Surely this wasn’t the first time a customer had this happen(I say that only because it happens everywhere, even if rarely). There should be a simple policy the staff knows and that will make customers feel like they are taken care of when problems occur. That way staff won’t get flustered(the guy clearly did not know what to do) and customers don’t get irked enough to write bad Unilocal reviews. It’s not about getting a free pizza, money back, or a coupon for next time. It’s about making sure customers know that you appreciate their business, their time, and that you’re sorry when a mistake is made. Sadly, we’ll likely not patronize Radius again.

This weekend, two friends and I ordered a pizza from Radius for pick-up at around 10 pm. We get there and go right to the bar to get it, and the bartender, Matt, says something along the lines of «Oh yeah — one special for pick-up», as apparently there was a promotion for it that night. My friend says, «Oh I didn’t know it was a special tonight», in a totally normal, conversational way. Matt’s response to my friend was«yeah you should feel special… you homosexuals don’t have any grey in your beards like I do!», seemingly referring to the fact that my friends and I, and Matt, all have beards. To unpack this a little bit: This was literally, at most, 15 seconds after we walked in the door. We are three guys in our early 30’s who, if anything, are fairly nondescript, not that it matters. We stood there shell-shocked, clearly very confused and not thrilled, and my friend standing behind me asks«what did you just say?» and Matt basically repeats the same thing. The same friend, obviously bothered, then asks him, «Are you gay?», to which Matt sort of mumbles a noncommittal long-winded response of «no». As my credit card is going through and we’re waiting to leave, Matt then asks us where we are coming from, and what we are going to do for the rest of the night, to which none of us really respond, as we’re all visibly upset. As we are leaving my friends asks for his name, which he says is Matt, and then Matt asks for my friend’s name in return. Initially, we were hoping maybe it was just a very inexperienced employee speaking way out of turn to three paying customers, but it seems like Matt is actually the owner of Radius. Needless to say, a really terrible, awkward, and totally unnecessary experience that left us feeling bad for the rest of the evening, and two days later we’re still totally confounded as to how this interaction even happened, or is in any way appropriate. Next time you have any insights or opinions about your customer’s sexuality(or their ethnicity, or gender, or religious background… really anything), keep them to yourself.

I ordered a large carryout pizza for $ 12 as part of their carryout special. I waited a few minutes for it to finish and the atmosphere seemed very fun. There was a crowd around the bar and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Since I live in the area I will probably come back for a beer. They had a pretty good craft selection. The pizza was very good. It was flavorful and had a nice thin, crispy crust. Probably some of the better crust I’ve had. The toppings were light but flavorful. The sauce was well seasoned. It was also very big. I can’t speak to their main menu items, but overall I would recommend the carry-out pizza deal.

Probably three stars for food, and a fourth for the cool neighborhood vibe(sorry, no pictures, forgot my phone). The space is in what is apparently a mixed use building with residences upstairs, and it’s got a nice bit of exposed brick and a few seats overlooking the street below. Mount Pleasant’s streets are painted on the wall, reminding me I should drop by Mount Pleasant more often. The menu is pizza and pasta, and has a few marked vegan options on there. However, me being me, I went for a conventional pizza. Their prices are fairly high, but it’s a big pizza in a city that has largely gone the way of personal sizes, 15″ is a small, though the crust is super thin. And you can’t say they aren’t generous with toppings; shiitake mushrooms aren’t cheap but there were plenty of them and they tasted right. The fried risotto balls and pasta of the day(with pumpkin in spinach cream) that I split were nice enough. They’re family friendly, for better or for worse, and the night I was in there was an odd but distinctively Washingtonian mix of thirty-somethings having adult conversations and parents with small children. I’m not sure which typically wins out. It’s worth checking out their daily specials.

Worst delivery service I’ve ever had. Communication was poor. Ended up taking more than two hours to get my pizza tonight. Ordered at 7:56 and received pizza at 10:03. Pizza was cold and had to heat it in my oven before eating it. Called the restaurant three times — they never offered to comp the pizza and only apologized the final time. Zero customer service happening here. Sticking to Angelico’s, Pete’s, and La Villa from now on.

I stopped by last night to pick up a carry out pizza and ended up chatting with Matt, who was working behind the bar. I’d eaten there before but didn’t know much about the place. He told us that pretty much everything there is made in-house… the sauce, the sausage, the bacon, the pickles… and even let us try some of his pickled radish, bacon, pickle martini and his specialty house-made pickled cabbage. I was really impressed by the time he took to share this with us, and everything we tried was delicious. I will DEFINITELY be going back more often. Plus, they have great weekly specials!

Everything about this place is spectacular. The pasta is tender and the sauce is some of the best I’ve had in 10 years of east coast living. The owner crafts the wine selection personally and has glasses for amazing prices. From Spanish reds to Italians. The pizza is huge and cheesy. If you’re in western DC, this is worth the travel. Right off the green and yellow line. Plus there are specials everyday!

It’s really hard to find good NY style pizza in DC. Next to Wise Guys, this is the best I have found in my over decade here. Good deals and the pizza still tastes good when it arrives for delivery. They don’t always hear you clearly on the phone, and when you add 1 topping to their large cheese pizza deal, the deal no longer applies Maybe the guy just didn’t understand that I wanted a pepperoni pizza(without pepperoni and a veggie instead). Will update if it gets annoying.

I was very happy they have a delicious vegan option and label it clearly on the menu as vegan so I don’t have to bother a server about it. Great pizza!

Solid 4 stars. Not much else to say aside from the pizza being awesome. We were debating hitting up Pete’s pizza and realized one 18″ with similar toppings would have cost ~$ 40 after delivery and tip. Radius … $ 30 for two 15″ two topping pizzas. Amazing deal. The pizza’s themselves were tasty and the ingredients fresh. They even sauteed the shiitakes for me. Crust was nice — although just a smidget more burn would have been enjoyed even more. Thing, crisp, tasty, awesome. The 45 minute delivery window was really only 30 minutes. I can also be picky with pizza — and honestly, I think Radius is at the top of the options within DC. Was a little upset that the requested peppers flakes and other accouterments were missing from the box even though the staff said they ‘would definitely make sure they were in there’.

Radius is my neighborhood bar. It’s a small venture, and you’ll know everyone after your third visit. Staff and regulars are very friendly, ambience is cozy(maybe too cozy in the summer), and the pizza … The pizza is the best. They get the crust just right — thin, crispy, just the right amount of char. Even better, they make slices to order. Not as good as a full pie, but I’ve never seen a place that does single slices to order.

As a Jersey girl, I know good pizza and Radius has GOOD pizza. It’s thin, it’s crispy, it’s sawft and it’s light. ANDAND it gets better they have like the best carry out deal ever!!! $ 10 for a large cheese pie or $ 12 for a large pepperoni! I wish I still lived close by!

Being from NY, I can be picky with pizza at times. Radius has some of the BEST pizza I’ve ever had! We get it delivered often and it’s always fresh and sooo yummy. Haven’t tried anything else on their menu yet, we love the pizza too much! Very impressed and definitely recommend trying sometime. :-)

My fiancé and I moved to Mt. Pleasant over the weekend and we decided to check out Radius Pizza for our first neighborhood meal. After a LONG day of packing, moving, unpacking, sneezing(so much dust), and total exhaustion we thought it would be nice to take a walk in our new neighborhood. I’d previously heard of Radius Pizza and was eager to try it especially because the owners are locals and the pizza has great reviews. However, we were both sort of dressed down(leggins, t-shirt for me, ya know, the ush) so I figured I’d pop in to see if there was a dress code. I asked the waiter and he made a funny joke about how I was dressed perfectly, so I said great! And we took a seat. The service was very friendly, our waiter was very pleasant(no pun intended!) and even let me try a little bit of a beer before we bought a whole pitcher(big commitment!). We ordered the Ingleside pizza and added Ricotta to it. It was DELICIOUS! I loved how all the pies are named after streets, adorbs! We finished the pie between the two of us(YOLO) and although I was stuffed by the end, I was sad it was all gone! We really enjoyed Radius Pizza, the place has a cool vibe and a great wall mural map of Mt. Pleasant, we took a menu and I’m sure we’ll be ordering/coming back soon!

Radius pizza is the closet I’ve found to New York style pizza since moving to DC. Is it exactly the same? No. DC doesn’t benefit from NY water. But, it’s still really good, so it gets 5 starts relevant to everywhere else.

The family owned, neighborhood pizzeria that we all wish we had a block away. Great fresh New York style pizza, and every Monday they have slice and pint night, 3 huge slices and a pint for ten bucks, are you kidding me.

Radius pizza is great. It can be sort of hard to find, tucked in like a row house so you might not notice it unless you’re really looking. But once you get inside, the décor is great. There’s a beautiful big map of Mount Pleasant, which gives the joint a nice homey feel. Although the pizzas are expensive, they’re also filling. So you might be able to get 3 meals out of a full pizza pie. The pizzas are very tasty and all the ingredients are pretty high quality. Right now they have an awesome pumpkin pizza(obviously). Not sure how long it’ll be around, but it’s worth trying!

Radius is awesome! I’ve driven down the street past it countless times but was too focused on not running over pedestrians to look around too much. I came on a Wednesday during happy hour with a friend from work. They have different happy hour deals every day of the week and Wednesday’s is «Pie + Pitcher.» You can pick any of their amazing pizzas and a pitcher of beer for $ 30. Their pizzas normally run around $ 20 so it’s a great deal. We had a pizza with cheese, onions, basil, and sausage, which was DELICIOUS!!! Everything was so fresh and the pizza was HUGE. My only complaint is that I wish they had a bigger draft selection. They had one IPA, one pale ale, and one amber ale. We had the amber ale and it was delicious. I’ll definitely be back.
