They ran out of salmon!!! I was so upset! That should’ve been my warning to just go some where else bc I was not at all happy with my rice bowl :( Falafel…rice, veggies, cabbage and cucumber tomato salad… The rice was flavorful but I won’t be coming here again… Wasn’t impressed. Will stick to Zoës!

Had the rice plate-rice with quinoa cauliflower tabouli, couscous, and humus. All was great except hummus. Loved the homemade teas too!

I got the rice plate with roti chicken, dill yogurt & cucumber sauce, tomato & cucumber, humus, and cous cous. The chicken was on the dry side. The rice plate comes with a side of pita, which pairs well with the humus. They gave a heaping scoop of humus too — more than enough for the rice and pita. If you order the rice plate, you’re limited to three toppings only — additional toppings will cost extra. If you want more than three toppings and don’t want to pay extra, I recommend going with the salad — it’s «healthier» and you can get all your toppings. If you get a wrap(the other possible vehicle), you can really only get as many toppings as the wrap can fit. It wasn’t busy at 11:30am, but as it got closer to noon, the crowd picked up and service slowed. All in all, this is a nice place to grab a fast casual lunch, and the Mediterranean menu is a great alternative to Chipotle or its neighboring sub/sandwich joint.

I can’t give this place enough stars! Not only is it creative, healthy, and delicious, but the staff is incredibly nice! I work down the street and stop in for lunch every now and then and every single time, no matter who is working, the staff is so friendly and talkative, it really makes my day! Not to mention the food is so good! I personally always get the chicken kabob wrap, with rice and hummus and all that yummy stuff. Don’t pass on their delicious and odd concoctions of iced teas, they’re so good! My personal favorite is the peach vanilla bean green tea. It gets really busy at lunch time but the line moves fast and it has patio seating for nice days!

Very delicious food and friendly service. Next door Pot Belly is rude so this is the place to go if you want a sandwich or rice plate.

Less than 24 hours ago, I took a chance on this location(near the No-Ma– Gallaudet U metro Washington DC stop) of the Roti Mediterranean Grill due to my previous enjoyment with the Mediterranean Grill restaurants with the one that is in the Union Station Washington DC metro and the one near the Foggy Bottom metro stop(near George Washington University). The meal that I got from this location was toothsome and the cashier/food server was hospitable. The meal included the following ingredients; Salmon Kebab, lemon, kalamata olives, sliced sumac onions, tomato-cucumber mixture, tzatziki sauce, hummus, yellow rice etc. and I chose a fountain soda(fortunately they had cherry coke).

My first time there, food was great. I had the rice plate with chicken. The chicken was absolutely delicious. So glad that the hotel staff recommended that place.

Just want to make it’s clear — my review is for this location only. I like ROTI in general — they have a good concept and tasty food. However… the service at this location at 1str really sucks!!! When I was here today, the lady at the counter was taking her time to clean the trays with food(while 5 people in the line are waiting for her), when it was finally my turn to order, and I was pointing to the topping topping I wanted on my platter — she told me that«because of SAFETY, I should not point». Safety?! Really?! Considering, there is a glass between customers and personal, she did not make any since. Worst customer service!!!

If you’re looking for a place to get quick, fast and healthy food, this is a decent place to go! It’s a Chipotle-style restaurant and easy to order from a simple menu! However, I do not like that you’re limited to 3 sides. And the falafel I got was not very warm and the roasted red pepper sauce was not very flavorful. But if you want a dessert with your meal, I would recommend the Baklava, it was pretty tasty! Overall, I would give this place a try if you’re a first-timer, but if you’ve already been here, I would venture and try something different!

Basic lunch. I had the rice plate with chicken and veggie sides. The roasted red pepper sauce option is delicious. Its orange and I love every creamy orange sauce I’ve ever tasted so that’s nothing new. Who doesn’t love creamy orange sauces? Fulfilling, warm, and pretty decent but didn’t knock my socks off.

I love Mediterranean food so I decided I would give this place a try and I am so happy I did. The food was delicious, the facility was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Same ordering format as Chipotle and Cava Grill, although they do not offer as wide a variety of sauces and dips as Cava Grill. Nevertheless, this place is great and I will definitely be returning.

We went here on our home. We were looking for something quick and it was a decision between Roti and Potbelly. This is my first time trying Roti and I love it. I have the Sultan sandwich with steak, yogurt and cucumber, roasted red pepper sauce, hummus, tomato and cucumber. It was delicious. Definitely coming back. For this category of restaurant, it was well worth the money.

Let me just start by saying, I love Roti’s. I’ve visited several locations in DC&NY. The food has always been consistently good and I’ve always received a good size portions, they aren’t stingy with servings at all. That said, this location totally sucks! I’ve consistently received bad service and you’d think I’d have enough and stop giving them my money but it’s the closest location to where I live so convenience keeps me coming back plus the food is really good. I love falafel! The location didn’t always suck, it got unbearable once the new management took over. This particular used to give 10% discount to residents in my building as participants in one of the resident perks programs my management company negotiated with a few retailers. One day I went in and showed my card and was told, «nope, we don’t give you guys discounts anymore.» Back to the service, first this place is ALWAYS understaffed. They always have two or three people working including the manager yet the number of customers exceeds the staff by at least three times. That’s after you’ve been waiting in line for 10 mins with only one person in front of you. Hint: THEYARESLOW and have no sense of urgency. I’ve gone during the week as well as on Saturdays and it’s always awful. As previously stated, I eat falafel and it is my only choice of protein as I’m a vegetarian. Plenty of times they’ve ran out of falafel and stated there won’t be any until the next day. I’m not talking about running out of food 10 mins before closing time, rather LITERALLY hours before the store closes ie. I come in at 5pm and store closes at 8pm but they’re out for the rest of the day: pullshair: How do you not plan accordingly for patrons? That’s like going to mcdonalds and they are out of fries! On one particular occasion I got extremely frustrated and spoke with the manager about the falafel being out again, long story short, the manager told me they weren’t out of falafel and offered to make me some. Apparently, the workers just finished cleaning the fryer and didn’t want to have to clean it again… excuse me??? Did I hear that correctly, you’re just going to LIE to patrons and tell us food is out because you are too lazy to do your damn job? I would recommending avoiding this location at all costs. There’s one in Union Station, one metro stop away or 10 mins walk, take the walk and say yourself a headache.

Wow — I wrote my 4 star review of this location of Roti almost 3 years, and so much has changed! Maybe I was jaded because it was one of the first places I’d eaten when I moved here from a city that doesn’t have options like this, or maybe it was actually worth 4 stars. I don’t remember now. I am a huge fan of Roti, and have been to several different locations in DC depending on where I am. This particular Roti is right across the street from my apartment, however I don’t eat there very often anymore. Let me just say that the food here is always good, and always consistent across the board. The service, however, is TERRIBLE. I’ve gone during lunch during the week, and also on Saturdays, and it’s always so awful. They’re always understaffed, and they have no sense of urgency to get people through the line. Not to mention, there are usually at least 2 employees just hanging around and not actually helping. They are ALWAYS out of something, and it’s usually either falafel or pita bread. I understand that the pita bread takes time, but the falafel — come on, you literally grab a handful and drop it in the fryer, and wait 4 minutes for it to be done. You can do other things in the meantime. I also understand that sometimes a lot of people want falafel, and you do the best you can, right? But this is NEVER the case here. They practically make it ONLY when someone orders it. I am a bit more forgiving when coming here during the week, along with the rest of NoMa, but there’s no excuse for slow service on the weekend. This place does not get packed. Today, I waited 15 minutes for my food. When I got there, there were 2 people ahead of me in line. There was 1 person on the register, and 1 person working the line. There were 2 or 3 other employees just hanging out, and not helping. It was painfully slow, and I KNEW they were out of falafel as always. The one person working the line was SO slow, and by this time, there were more people in line behind me. Sure enough, they were out of falafel, and I had to wait while they made it. The entire salad was a hot mess — there was sauce and hummus dripping down the side of the container and all over the bag. I had to go home and put it on another plate before I could even eat it. I try to avoid this location at all costs. Just like everything else they put in NoMa — it sucks.

This location is a favorite due to its proximity to work. My colleagues and I come here often for take out. I quite enjoy the falafel, either with a rice plate, salad, or in a wrap. The chicken is also good. They have options for every taste. They are efficient though sometimes when ordering a lot of food, sometimes things are forgotten but they make it right.

Why is this place rated 4 stars?!? Talk about crappy tasting food. I tried both the chicken and steak, both were totally dry and completely over salted. Actually, all I could taste was salt and the occasion chunk of onion from one of the other nasty concoctions. This whole place had the chipotle vibe, so I was expecting an above average experience and decent food. I was really hungry, so it had to be really bad for me to dislike it this much. Would not go back. I would highly recommend Potbellys next door or even the grocery mart down the road would be a better choice.

This is my favorite Roti location. You can park at Harris Teeter and not stress over lack of street parking. The employees are easy going and social. They seem to care about more than what you are ordering. The managers are nice. There is usually seating. I like people watching out the window. The back area is like a clown car. If the place gets crowded, suddenly employees pour out from nowhere, to assist their coworkers. My only suggestion would be adding a coat hook to the bathroom door. Otherwise, I’m using my Roti app to get free food for other visits. Oh yeah, and the food is good too.

First, to clarify my rating system(as I realize each person has a slightly different system). I am rating this a 4⁄5 in the category that it is: «fast casual». I’m not trying to compare this place to a high-dollar restaurant, nor would it be fair to compare it to McDonalds or the like. Roti, in my opinion, is a solid 4⁄5 fast-casual restaurant. Now, on to the review: Roti tastes much better than fast food, and it’s so much better for you! I am a big fan of the salads– you can choose your protein(salmon, chicken or steak roti, chicken kabob, falafel, or just veggies). Then you can top with all the amazing sides, sauces, and toppings you want! I love them all. Seriously. If salad isn’t your thing, you can make a sandwich with pita or a rice plate. All meals also come with a side of fresh baked pita if you want it. It’s a lot of food, and a decent price. I am happy to make this a go-to lunch spot on days when I don’t pack a lunch.

Not terribly impressed, but not offended either. I was staying at a hotel next door and wandered in. The food is outstanding in concept — fast casual Mediterranean. I had the«Best Plate Ever»(a.k.a. «the BPE»). It was chicken, hummus, tomato/cucumber salad, a red cabbage slaw, a seasoned onion mix, an olive mix served on a bed of seasoned rice. I have two disappointments: (1) The rice was dry. I don’t know how that’s possible — I mean, it’s rice. It wasn’t dried out, but it just tasted dry. (2) I got my order for carryout, and I arrived to my hotel with no utensils. Granted, that’s my fault for not checking my bag, but I kind of expected them to throw in a fork for an order to go. There was no way to eat it without utensils. Outside of that, this is an OK place that might hit the spot for Mediterranean food. DC has so many other places, though, they Roti needs to rise to the competition.
