Terrible service. I am on my period. I just want a cup of hot chocolate. I said venti hot chocolate. And the barista unhappily asked size again. She did not give my receipt and disappeared immediately after take my order. I waited five minutes, and there is not hot chocolate. Instead, I hot venti white mocha, which is not I want. another baristas made my hot chocolate. But there is for sure, I paid the money of a venti mocha, instead of my chocolate. Terrible experience. I always go to the starbuck in GWU hospital, although it is far.

The best Starbucks in the area thus far and that is mainly contributed to the staff Lee & Josh. They are always pleasant and friendly when I come the drinks are always made to perfection. The location/​space is perfect because u don’t feel like you are sitting on top of people and they are always well stocked. I never not once came to this location and they told me they were out of stock. I work maybe a couple blocks away but I pass at least 4 Starbucks that are much closer just to go to this one.

I just ordered a tall caramel iced coffee from this place while waiting for an interview. The staff was pleasant and I didn’t have to wait, woohoo! The place has a long thin counter table that overlooks the street. It’s great for people watching. The WiFi was strong and ample plugs were nearby that I used to charge my laptop and phone. This was late in the afternoon so I can imagine this place is busy during the morning and lunch hour.

The staff at this location just made my day with great customer service. I didn’t catch the name of the person who cashed me out and warmed up my egg and cheddar muffin, but he was quick, kind and reminded me why Starbucks has taken over the world. As I type this, I’m sipping on an excellent latte made by Dorde, who also took the time to make me feel like I was in a neighborhood café and not merely a cookie-​cutter store in a busy city. I walked in «hangry» and walked out much happier!

Disgusting: I just bought a coffee and a scone at Starbucks. The scones in the display counter looked fresh, attractive and tasty, but the cashier did a bait and switch and gave me my own individualized scone in a sealed plastic bag. I always thought, naively, that Starbucks had a local bakery somewhere near by. Unfortunately I learned I was wrong. The «Best Before» date on my scone was 07/​April/​2015, almost six months from now — so much for fresh baked goods. What disgusts me most, is that I opened the package and ate the scone, and it wasn’t half bad — preservatives can be tasty…

This is a decent Starbucks. The baristas know what they’re doing and the line moves very quickly. It’s great in the morning if you’re trying to make the bus (42, 43, L2, and H1 all stop right outside).
The interior was recently renovated and the updates they made are nice. It’s not as large as the Starbucks in Dupont Circle (2 stories) but there’s usually a spot to sit and work.
If you sit near the main coffee bar, you’ll have the most reliable Wifi.

First of all I am not a Starbucks-​stan. I do not drink coffee. Period. The only reason I ventured to them is because my office’s machine was on the blink so I went there for hot choc with whip cream. Needless to say I was not wowed. The hot chocolate was way too sweet and immediately made my stomach cramp. It was also not hot. I also ordered their spinach wrap which tasted ok. All in all, this trip wasn’t worth my $ 7 bucks and change. I will not patron this place again.

After a crappy experience at Founding Farmers a block away, we walked to this Starbucks and lo’ and behold we got the friendliest Starbucks employee ever. A happy note after a sour one.

A Starbucks is a Starbucks is a Starbucks is a Starbucks. Except this one is on top of its game. This location (18th & H NW) is probably the best-​run Starbucks in the city. The baristas are happy and upbeat in the morning, but not in a cloyingly saccharine way, and are unbelievably efficient. I once waited in a line at least 25 deep and had my beverage in hand within 5 minutes. Not too shabby for a weekday at 8:55 a.m.

Been in this Starbucks several times — for bottled water, coffee, and Cappuccino. Coffee and espresso has always been strong and good!
The place is always busy. We usually come here to work for a bit before customer visits.
