From out of the empty Georgetown Mall is this fabulous store, full of hats for any occasion you can think of. Anthony is an ARTIST and he will create for you the perfect hat or fascinator for your event. Wide brim elegant bergère for the races, birdcage veils, fascinators with plumes of peacock feathers, the possibilities are endless.

I came here with my boyfriend a couple weeks ago to check out the hats. The sales lady was persistent of having me try on different hats and see which I’d buy. I would have been okay if it was just here and there but constantly badgering me to buy something is another level. I asked how much a hat was and she told me $ 80 so I had to think twice about it. Even though I know for a fact I can find a similar hat for the same price I I gave in and bought one for myself and one for my boyfriend. After I’ve gone home I did some research on the hats I recently bought to find out that both hats were only $ 40EACH. They were trying to sell it to my for $ 80 each!!! Double the price?! WTF! Had I known before I bought them I could’ve saved myself a lot of $$$ and time. Never will I shop at Hattery again. For those interested in shopping at Hattery don’t bother. They make up there own prices and claim they make it themselves. If you want a legit floppy hat or fedora you can buy them online its cheaper and the quality would be 1000000 times better.

Not only is this store the go-to place for winter, rain and basic fashion hats of all kinds, this is the only place to go for upscale hats for your spring fling, Gold Cup, church, weddings and so on, or that hard to find specialty hat you just have to have! Off the rack or custom, they have it all. The prices range from the downright inexpensive to the high end. I ended up with something for me and a gift for a friend last time I went, and I will be back!

They have a good selection of hats and prices are somewhat reasonable. The owner was the soul of compassion – that is, he personally knew about that aspect. hehehe. i would recommend this place simply because Ive been around looking for good hats and all the other places Ive been through are just trying to make a quick sale, rip you off, then send you on your way.

Useless, and terrible customer service. The guy who owns this place seemed very helpful in the beginning, but it ended up just being a big lie. Standard-sized women’s hats never seem to fit me, and since all the hats I had ordered online were returned because they didn’t fit, I decided to take a trip to the Hattery to invest in a well-fitting sunhat, even if it was more than I intended to spend. Well, all the hats in the store that I liked did not fit me, so after giving a description of the style I liked by comparing it to several hats in the store, the owner said he knew of a great hat, and that he would special order in a few for me to try, but that I should call him the next morning to remind him to place the order. He gave me his card, and I left. When I called him the next morning, he had no idea what I was talking about. I gave him a description of the hat I wanted, and he was totally baffled. He said I’d have to come back into the store. So I returned, in Saturday traffic, searching for a Georgetown parking spot. When I got to the store, he remembered me and said, «oh yeah, I already ordered the hat you wanted, it should be in next week.» That was last month. Each time I called, he said he forgot to call the supplier and that he would call right then and there. Each subsequent time I called, he had«forgotten» to follow up with the supplier. Today was the last straw. I called him to ask him if the hat was available, he said, «I’ll call them right now. Give me your number and I’ll call you back in two minutes.» Five hours later, nothing. I gave the owner of this store every opportunity for a sale. But because of his absentmindedness or just general incompetence, I’m giving up on the Hattery. I found an online vendor for the hat brand he said he was going to order in, and placed an order online. I hope it fits. Better luck to you all.

I needed a good hat to complete my serial killer costume, and it was already Halloween day. Ideally I would’ve gone to a thrift shop in Virginia somewhere, but there was no time left and I had to choose from the expensive, designer hats at the hattery. The only mildly weird hat in stock was a fisherman’s cap with a built-in mullet – tufts of string blonde hair stapled to the inside. All I can say is that the hattery is a serious, upscale hatmaker(think Borsalino, Stetson, etc.) and it was foolhardy of me to blow $ 25 there on a costume hat. Next year, I went as the Mad hatter for halloween and fashioned my own hat, out of construction paper and a cardboard box, and it turned out better than anything the«Hattery» could sell me.
