So, the service is getting better, yet the pygmalion drink doesn’t taste as good as their other Corp facility the Midnight Mug in Lauinger. .. Go figure. Anyhow, if you haven’t had a chance to check out the Pygmalion you should. .. my friend introduced me to it and I’ve been hooked on it… my go-to tea drink.. . just don’t order it from here. .. order it at midnight mug. For coffee and for those who are in the know. .. they are serving Compass coffee, yes!

French toast bagel was pretty good. Jelly is just Smuckers packets and service is painfully slow.

They’ve begun offering teas and sandwiches in a fridge section near the register, which is really nice for quick lunches. I still prefer to come here instead of Starbucks, but sometimes the staff are chatty amongst each other to the point that it feels like customers wait longer than needed for their orders. Also, the place in general smells like burned coffee.

Hands down the worst coffee I’ve ever had. I’ve had some burnt coffees before, but this place served up the worst I’ve had. After my second sip decided it wasn’t even drinkable and poured it down the sink. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because their staff was so incredibly nice and friendly. Now, to get that overly acidic, burnt coffee taste out of my mouth…

I hope these guys go National! Uncommon Grounds is a wonderful place. I was visiting the campus for a two-day event. Day One I found the Starbucks in Leavey Center. Burnt coffee, as usual, but the two employees decided that only one of them should work and she could not handle the morning rush. What a difference a day made. On Day 2, I found Uncommon Grounds. First off, the coffee was great. Second, the staff was unreal in their enthusiasm. They could have been snobby or whatever, or coffee-nistas lost in their own world — but the barista took the time to explain their lines of coffee to a newcomer. His enthusiasm was great. Thank you — I hope you get to read it – you are going places. I also got a bagel and cream cheese. When they went to ring me up I only put a five down and started rummaging for more money. But instead the total was like $ 3.42 — about $ 2-$ 3 cheaper than comparable places. I literally did a double take. GREATPLACE. Great attitude. Great atmosphere too. Go public!

They make good coffee and have an excellent tea selection. No need to walk the extra steps to go to Starbucks. It has the small local coffee shop feel, and its run by students(a student-led non-profit organization). Cheap prices too, bagel and a coffee for like $ 2.

Delicious coffee, good pastries. My faves are the almond croissant or blueberry donut. Usually they can fulfill my not-seemingly-complicated orders. They’re speedy when it’s slow, but when there’s a line out the door they seem to take about 5 minutes per customer at the counter. Usually when I get an espresso drink I end up seeing the 3 people after me in line get their drinks before my comes out. The place is always too hot(even in winter) and they play their music too loud in the morning. Not the worst, but their coffee is WAY better than the Starbucks down the hall.

Entirely student-run. I love getting the«Short» coffees, not too much coffee, so it’s great when you just need a little boost, and it’s only $ 1. Drinks are decent, although the quality is not always consistent. Their couches are really comfortable and the place has a nice warm ambience.

Uncommon Grounds is a great little coffee shop run by Georgetown Students in the Leavy Center. They are open early till pretty late, which is awesome if you are a student in need of a caffeine fix at 10pm or and early bird at 8am. I love their breakfast special $ 2.50 for a bagel w/cream cheese & a coffee. Yum & affordable. My ultimate favorite & special treat is the Dulce de le Chai drink & a Cappuccino Chip muffin… simply heaven. The only down side is that they close on holidays and in between the summer sessions until summer school & fall/spring semesters start. I use to be a student and now I work on campus and hate when I don’t have access to Uncommon Grounds or any of their other coffee shops throughout campus. But overall they are a great coffee shop!

one of the best place to get coffee around the Georgetown campus, the only problem is that its closed during the holidays. They consistently have some good coffee here, but watch out during the beginning of the semester since they have a lot of new employee turnover(not uncommon for a student run store).

UG is not only absolutely adorable in every way, but quality and(relatively) cheap as well. It’s homegrown in the fullest sense of the word: entirely run by students, from the Director of Operations to the lowly cashier. The espresso machine is vintage in the sense that it isn’t automatic — the grinders here pull their own shots, right down to the timing of when to switch off the machine. This is also one of the best places to get a dry cappuccino. They know what you mean. Service can be fairly slow during rushes, like in between classes — don’t expect a Starbucks. They’re proudly not one. Flavored coffees are usually available, even if you have to wait for them to brew another shuttle. They change with the season. Come fall they’ll be serving Pumpkin Spice flavored coffee and pumpkin muffins, but I’m tell you: get there early because they sell out FAST. Bagels are great too, they’ll toast them for you. Cream cheese is 45 cents, butter 35. With coffee: the cashier will(usually) ask you if you want room for cream, and then kindly oblige. Cute, huh? If you order a pastry or muffin, they may ask you if you want a plate or a bag. All about Students Serving Students.

This is a student-run business located within the Leavey Center on the campus of Georgetown University. The hours change based on the academic schedule but the are open throughout the year including the summer. They are very serious here about coffee and espresso beverages. I mean this in a good way– the staff is well trained on the«art» and nuances of what makes a good drink. Great quality, fun atmosphere, and some inventive creations on their menu board. I also love the brand of muffins they carry.
