Hoya Snaxa

It’s a convenience store plain and simple. They stock all the necessary things you would ever need if you’re looking for a snack or drink but not much more. They have tried to expand their selection somewhat recently by adding «fresh produce», aka baby carrots and berries (puh-​leaze), some basic necessities like Tylenol, solo cups, and mini bottles of Tide detergent but that’s about it. For what food they do carry, you’ll find a decent selection of chips, refrigerated drinks, candy, and if its in stock, refrigerated food like sandwiches, salads, and sushi. Unfortunately, since their shipment schedule isn’t nearly regular enough, you will occasionally find the supply of such more filling items running very low or nonexistent.
The layout of Snaxa is not very convenient with very narrow isles to the point where I’ve had to back up and out of an aisle because someone was coming the other way (I lovingly call it the Snaxa Shuffle). Given the space restrictions I’ll forgive it though, especially since the location is the best on campus for any non-​coffee Corp establishment. The staff has also consistently been very nice and quick which is a plus as is the convenient hours (open till 1AM). Yeah, it’s hardly perfect, but if it’s between coming here and Vittles all the way in Leavey, Snaxa wins.

Nestled into the heart of the Southwest Quadrangle, «Snaxa», as it is called by Georgetown students, fills a niche by providing candy bars and soda to procrastinating students.
Snaxa has lost a lot of its luster, thought, since its inauguration three years ago. There are no more Cliff Bars for sale, and the staff is likely to be preoccupied text messaging a date or listening to music on a laptop. If you happen to be on Georgetown Campus and need a jolt of energy (say, before playing tennis), then by all means go to Snaxa. But if you want a better selection of foods such as hot pockets and vegan sandwhiches, better make the walk to Vital Vittles, in the Leavey Center.
