El Pollo Loco

Traveling from Washington state to Southern California, my family and I decided to stop off to grab some food. Since we had small children we wanted to let them stretch so we came into the restaurant. As soon as we sit down we are immediately bombarded by the sound of arguing between an upset worker and what appears to be the owner of the restaurant. This is clearly not the place to be having work related tiffs– out in front of the customers. We were immediately uncomfortable. Here’s a tip to the owner, if you want a successful business, don’t belittle your workers in front of the people that pay here to eat.

The food here is full of Flavors! I crave their Tostadas! Shrimp is delish, and their chicken is where it all starts! I am shocked to see they have such low ratings. My food is fast, fresh, and friendly service! I hope their ratings improve, I really enjoy this location. I do miss the Nachos!

For a fast food place they have the most amazing food. Their chicken, their beans, and their shrimp are all beyond delicious. I also appreciate they have friendly staff. It’s inexpensive and it fills you up. I recommend it.

I really hate to leave a bad review because I love the food here, and I’ve always got tasty fresh food with friendly service BUT… this location has really gone downhill in the last year in the cleanliness department. Dirty windows, dirty stinky restrooms, dirty floors, often dirty tables in dining area, many half consumed beverages on the bar area (employees drinks) messy salsa bar, and the employees can sometimes be seen in the parking lot smoking with their uniforms still on. I hope the manager sees this and takes corrective action. She is actually one of those smoking in the parking area. I know you have to smoke outside now with the laws the way they are, but you should do it farther away from the restaurant and without your work uniform on. At least put a plain T-​shirt on over or something. Your food is great, please implement a thorough cleaning program! I hope I’m not scaring anyone away, the kitchen area looks clean and I don’t think there are issues with cleanliness in the food preparation area. The 2 star rating is on the clean factor only, I would give 4 stars for the food.

Fresh food with several options for sides– coleslaw, pinto or black beans, rice, soup, salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, broccoli, macaroni and cheese/​chicken or shrimp/​flour, wheat or corn tortillas, tortilla chips and a good variety of salsas and peppers. They have fountain drinks, juices and horchata. Tres leches cake, chocolate chip brownies, cheesecake burritos or churros for dessert. Both times I’ve been here they messed up our order. The manager tried to fix it, but we had already started eating and wanted to keep the food hot. Other customers had problems using coupons. Some tables hadn’t been cleaned. We had to ask for utensils. No salt, pepper or napkins at the tables.

El Pollo Loco is great. Food and the staff were great and worthy of a repeat visit. The prices are a bit steep for fast food (hence no 5 stars), but if you are looking for the dollar menu you are probably looking for McDonalds. I personally think the burritos are the best thing on the menu.

Anytime we pass through town traveling, we love eating here because there isn’t one local to us. It’s so good! We have never had a poor experience here. It seemed to be quite busy every time we visit. The food is excellent quality, prepared quickly and very filling.

Dirty, cold food, uninterested staff. This could be the worst fast food joint on the planet. Avoid

After I ordered my food, they handed me a timer and told me it would be about 25 minutes!!! Fast food???

Is this a chicken joint or not!!! Came in during dinner and was told they RAN OUT OF CHICKEN?!! Do my ears deceive me? I thought I was on candid camera and that this was a big joke. The cashier told me they had enough chicken for only ONE more order of a 10 piece family meal. Seriously this is crazy, loco!!!

Every part of my experience was terrible. Service, the food, the cost, everything. They also forgot to give me half of my order. Ill never go back
