While visiting friends in Washington they brought us here to get coffee and some pastries. What a wonderful place!!! Coffee is great, the pastries are baked fresh. We came back again and I haven’t tried anything I didn’t liked. The atmosphere is great to just relax and enjoy your treat. A must try if you are close by.

Everything about Rachel K’s is wonderful. The staff is terrific, the pastries and bread are out of this world, and the sandwiches will melt in your mouth. They have recently started to serve homemade soups as well, which are delicious. Rachel K’s has fantastic, fresh coffee all day long. It is always clean and all of the products are made from scratch. Even the milk is from the local dairy. It is always worth the trip.

Pricey, but top notch quality pastries, espresso drinks, salads, and sandwiches. One downside is very limited seating.

Gotta love their ham and cheese croissant. If you have not discovered this jewel of washington than you need to get out and explore it. My wife brings me one everyday at my barbershop and is my happy moment when it is nice and hot. Go here and say Jonathan the barber sent you #therazorsedgebarbershop #greatspottoeat

Unilocalers have delivered again. Found this gem in Washington City, NC. It’s s cool spot with great coffee and delish pastries. We stopped for breakfast and their croissants(spinach/feta, sausage/cheese and chocolate) are super. Cinnamon rolls were so good too and so were the cheese Danish). Sandwiches available only starting at the 10:30 only. Menu looked inviting for sandwiches and salads.

Rachel knows how to make some delicious pastries and desserts. I normally stop in for something sweet to eat while I’m out cycling but today i grabbed lunch. I had the roast beef on croissant with pasta salad. The sandwich was excellent with a soft, buttery croissant. Beef was medium-well, sliced thin and tender. The horseradish sauce was tasty. The pasta salad was penne, feta, tomatoes, with olive oil and spices. The pasta was a minute or two undercooked for my taste but nonetheless, i still ate it all. I’ll be back!

Favorite place in town. I work down the street from Rachel K’s and grab something there 2−3x a week. Not one complaint. Friendly service, great food, and fresh ingredients. Their coffee is out of this world… just amazing. Favorite bakery item is the spinach and feta croissant. Favorite lunch item is the chicken salad and broccoli salad. Always clean and nicely decorated. Rachel K’s is an amazing addition to Washington.

The best coffee we’ve had in America! We are from Australia, so this has been the closest to what we can get at home!

Ordered a grapefruit cake here for Easter dinner. What a mistake. Granular sugar in the filling, heavy, thick layers. Looks like something homemade for a church social but doesn’t taste nearly as good. Waaay too sweet and no grapefruit flavor at all. $ 42.00. Seems like a popular place for coffee and sandwiches but a bakery? Don’t think so.

Dropped by today for a quick bite with my family. I enjoyed their old location, but it was more of a counter in the corner of a coffee shop. This new location is the restored old town hall. They had already sold out of the sticky buns by the time we arrived, but there were some unloved orange rolls sitting in their place. I tried one and it was incredible. My daughter had a cookie and then had some of her grandfather’s lemon-almond twist, and some of my wife’s ham & cheese pocket and about 1⁄3rd of my orange roll. She’s a bit of a picky eater and she scarfed everything down. We also got some drip coffee, which I understand is Counter Culture(a Durham, NC roaster). It was floral, fresh and strong. Delicious. My daughter got a cup of milk which we helped her with. It’s from a local dairy and tasted very creamy and fresh. We discovered that they make lunch sandwiches, but those weren’t ready yet(they had been slammed unexpectedly by people enjoying the beautiful day in downtown Washington on the day before Easter). We went to a local park, walked our dogs and played a bit. then drove right back to try out some of their lunch. Since we’d just eaten the pastries we went light and shared some sandwiches. My wife and I split a pulled pork bánh mì(a Vietnamese sandwich with pickled vegetables) with broccoli salad and my dad and daughter split a pimento cheese sandwich with a pasta salad. Wow, I started to regret not getting my own bánh mì after the first bite. It. Is. Incredible. Everyone enjoyed their meal immensely and I can’t wait to go back and try something else on the menu.

WOW! Rachel K’s is exceptional and a long awaited treasure located in the Old City Hall building in the downtown harbor district of Washington, NC. Simply the best pastries, breads, cakes, crescents, cookies, sandwiches, side salads, etc… and gourmet coffee too. The chocolate éclairs are out of this world good. Truly authentic deliciousness! Reminds me of Morton’s Bakery on Evans Street in Greenville 50 years ago. Get there early. They’re open 6:00 — 4:00 daily and the favorites run out later in the day. Rachel K herself is delightful, as are her mom and dad who are frequently there helping out. Her staff is well trained and always provide cheerful, excellent service. There’s typically a line waiting to be served but it moves very quickly. A wonderful addition to downtown Washington and well worth a visit. You’ll definitely want to come back. Enjoy!

Being from Seattle I sorely miss a good local coffee shop. And I found one. I mean, it’s a 30 minute drive but so worth it on the weekends, especially if it’s nice out. PLUS they have amazing pastries and food! I love their iced coffee, the chocolate croissant and bagels are delish as is the garlic cream cheese. The only thing is they don’t have everything all the time, of course, so if you have your heart set on something(aka gruyère cheese bagel) and they don’t have it you may be disappointed. That just means you need to keep going back!

Not even worth the one star. I went to this bakery and picked up 2 bagels, an éclair, and a cupcake to take home. I starter on the cupcake and it was as dry as the desert! The icing was good but the cake part of the cupcake was so dry that it cancelled out the icing flavor. The éclair is just utterly disgusting. No sweetness and the custard was repulsive! The bagel was ok but I did not like the way the bagels were just sitting out uncovered where any flying bug could land on them. Then there’s the price. 2 bagels 1 cupcake and 1 éclair for $ 9.00! That’s just ridiculous. Then they had no prices or menu available to take home. Seems a little unprofessional to me. How would you gain new customers if the current ones don’t have a menu that they can take home. Plus no website! In 2015 and no website? Come on. I will never go back and if you like a moist delicious cake… you should not go to this place.
