Noisy bit the food was good. We had the portobello sandwich and potato salad. Both tasty. Nice vegetarian option which is most appreciated. House Bloody Mary also nice… celery and dill infused vodka.

Smoked fried chicken and Sea Bass were our two main dishes with the Pork Belly Bites to start. This place did not disappoint. Must tastes all around!

Overly ambitious attempt at nouvelle cuisine… skimpy portions. A blue-haired grandma favorite… with her anorectic granddaughter who hates food anyways.

My first time here and I left happy and full. I even got a dessert for later I couldn’t pass it up as we were walking out. I had the pot roast and it was amazing. I already ate my leftovers because I couldn’t wait until tomorrow. It was the perfect spot for my godmother and I to have a nice evening to celebrate a late Christmas!

We went for NYE dinner and the food was great! We had the loaded potato as an appetizer & I had the hanger steak & my husband had pork tenderloin. We were pleased with all of it! Great drinks! Great service too!

It was strongly recommended that we eat here while in Washington. Boy are we glad we did! The sandwiches and salads at lunch were excellent. But it was the desserts that left us hungry for more. The hits were the cherry pie and the ooey-gooey butter cheesecake. Don’t miss them! And the service ewe fabulous.

This was a nice, relaxing comfort-food dinner with the Missouri River across the street. It was a little warm for the patio, so we ate inside. But we were able to get a table at the front window, so we had of the Missouri River flowing by. I just wanted water to drink and asked if they had San Pellegrino or some other sparkling/carbonated water. The waitress said they didn’t, so I said to bring me a large glass of club soda instead. Oddly(and lucky for me), she didn’t have it on the final bill. I pointed it out to her(my intent wasn’t to get a free drink), and she went to add it. But she said it rang up as no charge anyway. Nice. The Blue Duck lists fried pork belly bites as an appetizer, so I had to try it. So what is it? Basically fried fat — sounds like state fair food. But much better. It was a plate of 1 inch cubes of pork belly(uncured, unsliced bacon) that weren’t battered but rather dry barbecue rubbed, and deep fried. So yeah, there was a good healthy center of fat, but the tasty meat and rub on the outside. All with a light crispiness, and a smokey-sweet BBQ sauce to dip it in. A bit odd, but also a treat. House salads were good, if pretty much standard. Greens, feta cheese, grapes, onions, and a light dressing of honey chipotle vinaigrette that gave just enough kick to be interesting. The entrees were where the comfort food factor really came in. The wife’s Kentucky hot brown was excellent. Smoked turkey, sourdough bread, smoked tomato jam, portobello mushroom, bacon herb gravy, parmesan, and sharp white cheddar cheese — this is the menu description — and it pretty much describes it. It came hot from the oven, savory through and through. My mac & cheese — elbow macaroni, three cheese sauce, braised short rib, bread crumbs, confit shallots — also was really good. Actually a little rich with all that cheese, but generous with the short rib meat bits throughout. Almost forgot! Both entrees came with two slices of extra thick(1/8−¼″) bacon on them. They were actually thicker than I would have liked. It was more like a bacon steak filet than a slice of bacon. To finish it off, we got a(large) slice of coconut cream pie. It appeared to be a homemade crust, too. This pie was delicious. Flaky crust, dense and sweet coconut cream that actually seemed to be layered. So good. An enjoyable meal for us, leaving us relaxed and satisfied.

This restaurant was a wonderful spot for lunch during a day of shopping in Washington. The atmosphere was lovely. Sheila, our server, was helpful and attentive. My friend had the peppered bacon bloody mary — amazing(and I don’t like bacon, lol). The classic club sandwich was fresh and delicious. I asked for the honey chipotle mayo instead of plain mayo… such a good call, it added a sweet, spicy layer to the sandwich. The potato salad was perfectly simple. The portion size was just right so that dessert was not out of the question. I opted for the chocolate silk pie, which was rich, creamy and delicious. If you are in Washington and would like a light, fresh lunch, I highly recommend The Blue Duck.

Excellent Rueben, the bread held up almost to the end. The corn chowder was a little sweet. The DLT, made with duck, was very good as well.

Great view of the Missouri River while having a nice lunch. Great people very nice atmosphere. Wifey had the spring vegetable soup and apple walnut salad and she recommends it highly. I had the traditional club because it had sourdough bread. All the meats were smoked right here. The cute bag of Billy Goat chips was a just right addition to the lunch. Also they has real iced tea with out all the chemicals some places stick in theirs. We had Julie a real friendly person.

Stopped in at the Blue Duck for dinner while helping my Mom move from Maine to Colorado. What an awesome find! I had the pork chop and it was delightfully cooked. Sides were also great. Service-wise, our waitress was super on-point and friendly.

Picked this place out of the«blue» and it was a great hit. It has an atmosphere akin to many small breweries and/or wineries. The décor was spot on and is a great location to take your significant other out on a date, but also good for bringing kids. Once Spring and Summer hit, it will have equally good scenery as this is in the historic district of Washington, MO and sits right next to the Missouri River. Taking a stroll before or after you visit would be a good compliment. The food was excellent and would highly recommend the Blue Duck Burger. Their cocktails were also very tasty and just what the doctor ordered!

For my fiancé’s(Alex) Mom’s birthday, Alex and I drove out to Washington, MO for a nice dinner at the Blue Duck. It was an overcast night, but still semi decent weather… so we opted to sit outside on the patio. The patio is a nice seating option because you can get some good views of the riverfront! Before diving into food, I ordered a «hillbilly sangria» and tasted a peppered bacon bloody mary. The sangria was made with whiskey and had peaches & blueberries incorporated… it wasn’t bad, but rather standard. I probably wouldn’t order it again. As a disclaimer… I am NOT a bloody mary person, but I regretted not ordering this! It was delicious!!! They make all the ingredients in house, so this drink is extra fresh with the perfect balance of salty & tomato flavors. Food thoughts … Smoked chicken wings —(8⁄10) covered in a spicy BBQ sauce, so don’t expect buffalo wings. Delicious though. Fried pork belly bites —(10⁄10) best appetizer! Not that pork should ever need to be deep-fried…but it sure is delicious when it is. These were amazing and will be until I find out their calorie content… Soup of the day(creamy tomato basil) —(6⁄10) pretty thick, chunky tomato soup… I have tasted better, but it was pretty good. Squash lasagna —(8⁄10) creamy & decadent. Very generous portion too! Smoked fried chicken —(10⁄10) juicy fried chicken, delicious fried spinach, gravy had nice flavor, waffle was a good touch(I LOVE chicken & waffles!) Blue Duck seems to rotate their menu with the seasons, so I’m sure I will be back to try out more of their offerings and definitely drink a peppered bacon bloody mary.

Ate there again. This time brought a couple of friends and ate outside. We all got something different and shared. Got the brisket sandwich special, the Blue Duck Burger, and the chicken club. We all liked the chicken club the best. The view outside was great. Nice way to spend a fall lunch.
