Ok so cheap thrift shops are no longer the norm. This place prices as a retail shop. Example matchbox cars for 5.99 price at toysrus is 4.99. I never expect great service out of these placed union city location being the worst. But here its people who hate people that work here. Its a shame like i said in the beginning thrift shops are no longer cheap or helpful.

If I could give a negative star I would. The last two times I have been here the lines are incredibly long. I understand stores get busy but the last time three cashiers were just standing in front of their registers and conversing instead of logging onto their till. Every cashier I have ever had here has acted put out by doing their job. Their items are overpriced and torn up. I will not be returning.

I give this place three stars for being well stocked and well organized. However, I swear to god it’s like they’ve forgotten that they’re selling used clothing. $ 29.99 for used kids puma sneakers? What? $ 12.99 for a used New York and co dress? I don’t buy clothing here anymore; even on 50% off day it’s too outrageous. Also their employees are about as rude as they come. And for the love of God, stop selling ancient expired car seats!

My oldest was in desperate need of clothes that actually fit him(growth spurts are a pain) and naturally we were out of town visiting family. Thankfully my mom knew of this awesome place and we were able to get a couple of outfits for the right price. I wish I lived closer to this treasure trove because I would definitely be back there again.

I go to this Unique and the one in Union as a frequent thrifter. I find this ones selection is slightly bigger. When I visit this one I seem to have better luck finding shoes and hoodies at this one vs. the other location. There are usually more cashiers open at this store which helps when the huge waves of people happen. I also find rarer. I think I’m partial to the other location for a couple reasons which are marks against this one, the. Parking lot is smaller, and when the big sales happen, it fills up very quick. In union there’s tons. There is one less fitting room too which can be a headache. Lastly I don’t know who prices the stuff but they seem like they try to tack on a few extra dollars on the same type of things at this locstion. For example, the exact same brand and size of jeans I see at this one is tagged less at the other unique. I still like this Unique and am here usually for the 50% sales.

Three stars only because their shoe selection is the smallest I’ve seen from the Union & Elizabeth & Union City stores, it seemed empth & selection on other goods was small. Couldn’t find the small vintage section that the Unique Thrift stores usually have unless I truly missed it :(either way I was extremely pleased as I luckily found two pairs of brown shoes :) Would go again but with my fingers crossed in the hopes that there will be better steals next time.

Great unique. I usually always find some good mens jackets there. Prices are OK. Great ties I found 5 bow ties there one time and I never find bow ties at the thrift store. Make sure to come in Tuesday for 25% off and sign up for the reward program and get 25% off every Thursday as well.

Loving coming here! My husband gets great shirts at great prices — why pay full price? He’s gotten a real motorcycle jacket for a Halloween costume for $ 50! I’ve gotten a lot of great items myself, shoes, skirts, swimsuits, purses, a bathrobe, etc. and feel great. It doesn’t bother me if it’s for-profit. Saving just by shopping there. I wouldn’t feel bad about going to a consignment shop that doesn’t «benefit» a particular organization. Everything seems clean and organized, but I know that after a long weekend day, it can be a mess in the kids’ section. They should have more fitting rooms. Btw, I hear they donate $$ to the Lupus foundation.

This Unique Thrift is not as big as their Union location(IMO). I didn’t find much goodies and the staff here is so-so. I remembered asking a cashier if I can speak to a manager about something and she told me, «There is no manager here.» I found that hard to believe, so I asked her again and she said, «We don’t have a manager, only a supervisor.» Same freaking difference!!! O_o Anyways, I wouldn’t come back here because it’s too far for me and the other Unique Thrift is better.

Clean. Organized. HUGE. Not the usual aspects of a thrift store. Tons of clothes, with the occasional buried-treasure. I saw a J. Peterman Alternative Duster here for only $ 17 — not my style, but it looked brand new(normally a $ 180 jacket). Nice set of 6, mint condition, 1970s, Japanese-made, ceramic appetizer plates. $ 5. Set of 4 perfect, small, amber-glass, stemless, wine bulbs. $ 3.60 Milk-glass bowls. $ 1 to $ 3 each. Too many toys and children books to even list or count. ______________ Some cons: *Records and LPs — TERRIBLE selection and conditions. Don’t make a trip out here for THAT. *Gets crowded on weekends. *This is a FOR-PROFIT store, so no warm fuzzies with your purchase. *SOME items are grossly overpriced — as if the thriftocrats running the place suspect it is some sort of precious cultural artifact. *If it’s missing a price, they will NOT sell it. Period. It takes them hours to put something through the intake and pricing bureaucracy, so don’t even try to beg — No matter how much you offer… NO, that Snoopy Sno-Cone Maker can not go home with you. — — — — – Mondays — 25% OFF everything. Maybe I shouldn’t be telling you about this place, it’s busy enough on weekends. It’s not packed with«self-loathing hipsters(!?)» like myself though — mostly working families getting good deals on good stuff. It’s worth a visit.
