Horrible service. Sat down. Two waitresses were talking badly about another waitress to customers. We waited more than 5 min to get our drinks. we only ordered water. After another 5 min we ordered a cheese burger and a Reuben. Asked for something Sauerkraut on the side instead of inside the sandwich due to the fact that we didn’t know if we would like Sauerkraut. Reuben came with Sauerkraut inside she then brought a side of it. When we told her we didn’t want it in the sandwich she said«ooh now you have more»… and walked away. I believe her name was cassy. My burger was a bit cold. The cheese wasn’t even melted. Horrible service. Will not be coming back again!

Good food. Cute diner. Friendly service. the one improvement-I would add a sign at the door that says«seat yourself’. We waited around at the front unsure if we were to wait to be seated. Noticed later others doing the same thing.

I had jury duty down town this past week & Dottie’s is a great spot for lunch! Chicken pot pie was fresh & delicious, warmed you up on a windy day. Chicken was tender & the pie crust nice and flaky you can tell its homemade! Make sure to save room for a homemade donut on the way out!

I just ate there this afternoon. It is quiet, the food is good, the service is excellent and you don’t feel rushed to eat and leave. Try the Cobb salad which is excellent. I met a group of people there and everyone seemed to enjoy what they ordered. Also, the prices are very reasonable.

A friendly cozy place. It was nice and warm inside considering how cold it was outside. The service as quick and very friendly. Everyone was great. And the food was tasty. Try the clam chowder!

The place was clean, but the food was skimpy, service marginal and be aware they charge $ 1.50 for sharing. My wife and I went for a mid afternoon bite to hold us over to dinner so we split a cheese steak. Waitress was unable to tell us if their onion rings were beer battered or not, apparently couldn’t be troubled with asking, and after delivering the meal never came back to check on us. When we asked about the additional charge we were told there is nothing they could do about. There is somehting we will do about. never go back.

I was aching for New England Chowder Soup… bad… I saw that is was today’s special at Dotties 2 Diner, Never eat there so I went in for take out. The soup was home made with large chunks of potatoes, lots of clams and it was just amazing! A real comforting feeling after, like you ate a soup at your grand mothers house on a sunday! Will visit often!

Very expensive for Waterbury. I hope they lower their prices.

Dottie’s Diner in Woodbury has been around for decades. This new outpost in Downtown Waterbury across the street from the Post Office looks like it will be here for a long time also. We tried soups, salads, chips, sandwiches and mac &, cheese. Everything is well prepared, and arrives quickly and is served with efficient friendliness. The décor is bright and cheerful and the place is very clean and well laid out. There is a smallish counter to sit at if you are alone, there’s a small table for 2 in the window, and booths and open tables. At 11:55 it was empty and at 12:10 it was 90% full on a Wednesday. Clearly on its third day it already had a following. This is a solid reliable stop for breakfast or lunch.
