Great little pizzeria in Waterbury. Brick over style with a great selection of specialty pizzas. They use fresh ingredients and you can taste the difference. Their dough stands out as well as their sauce. It’s a thin crust which I prefer. The pizza isn’t greasy at all. It’s really a unique pie when compared to most places around Waterbury.

Real wood-fired pizza! The meatball pizza is fantastic… very flavorful, crisp crust. It’s a little on the pricey side for take-out, but definitely a treat not to be missed!

I’m going to miss them… Their phone is now answered by a recording stating that they’re closed & planning to open«in the fall in a new location».

Do you want a quick, wood burning brick oven pizza? You will not be disappointed! Sal, the owner, treats all of his customers like family. Even better, he offers a gluten-free pizza!

Went to Verona Pizza on Sunday to see what all hype was about and was met with a pizza that did not live up. The crust was nice and thin and crisp which was its only saving grace. The pizza here was bland and flavorless and could use some re-work. The restaurant itself could also use some re-work, it the appearance of a do-it yourself-er who doesn’t quite know what it means to finish the job or have it look nice, it just has that get it by feel. I think especially this is evident in the Men’s bathroom as well as adjoining hallway. For the price of the food you would expect much, much more. The large and«X-tra» large pizza seem to be the same size just slice thinner for more money. My family and I will not be revisiting this establishment again unless its changed.

We tried a pizza from Verona a couple of weeks ago, and I agree with the other reviewers. The pizza was very good, easily the best we had had from the Southington area. We will be back!

Best pizza in the area. I just wish that the dining area was a bit more welcoming and cleaner. They need to remodel this place and perhaps put in a small bar area! Would love to actually eat the pizza while relaxing in the dining room instead of taking out for the reasons mentioned!

went back to verona, took a picture of the pizza today for Unilocal. still predictable great pizza, the fire was roaring and the place had that awesome wood fire cracklin aroma — you can feel the heat of it when you walk in the door. you can see in the pic — nice bubbly crunchy thin crust, a little oily but not drippy or gross, a touch of tomato sauce and some tomato chunks, and a liberal coating of cheese all done up nice in that wood fired oven. check out the fire truck pizza project they are working on for next summer! can’t wait.
