Amazing dinner at A Slice of the Bronx. Food is so fresh and delicious! I had the salmon special and it was outstanding! Maybe the best meal in our year of living in CT. Highly recommended.

this has become one of my favorite places. variety to choose from & always fresh. i like to have protein, they allow you to order side chicken for same price they would charge to add on salad. close to home, affordable because byob. its hard to find to go to take out places with such healthy choices that are affordable, especially when it comes to eating out.

This place makes killer pizza and even sells specialty pizza by the slice… and if you want a great grinder get the Italian Combo… it’s packed with meat and toppings and is delicious!

Thank you for saving my new years! Pizza was hot and delivered in 30 minutes. You legit saved me from dealing with a pissed off husband… we ordered elsewhere(won’t make that mistake again) @ 6pm and by 8pm no pizza in sight. Cancelled that order and called here. 30 min later a perfectly cooked cheese pizza. Thank you thank you thank you.

Again, a flawless meal of pasta, sausage and broccoli. My wife had the soup of day. We also ordered a Margarita pizza. Best I had since last year when I was Naples, Italy

Fantastic Food & Desserts Just in the area for a few months– I’ve ordered delivery here 4 times. Tried the following dinners: Salmon Basilco, Veal Marsala, Chicken Marsala, Eggplant Rollatini, Eggplant Hero and ALL were amazing. I always custom order with sauce on the side so it is not too salty(low sodium diet) Courteous and helpful over the phone — all orders are prepared fresh. Garlic knots are perfection and the Cannoli’s are made right before they go out the door. Salads are fresh and I order the pasta side dish with olive oil and garlic. Just finished the dinner from there and it was ecstasy.

Great pizza apparently they hired a pizza maker from another great restaurant in wallingford called Half Moon. This gentleman knows his way around a pizza oven and dough. It’s definitely on the short list of pizzerias north of New Haven.

Got take out for New Year’s Eve night in. The chicken parm was very good and the pasta was great too. Still a little thin with the sauce but I just combine the sauce I had from the chicken parm and it was good. I also ordered mozzarella en coroza. The first piece I ate was out of this world. The cheese was thick and melted just right. The breaking was crispy and the sauce was delicious. But the second one hardly had any cheese. If I was eating in the restaurant I would have sent it back. But I would still order it again. Overall good food.

I was hoping to say good things about this place. We were lured in by two magic words: Bronx and Sicilian. We are always skeptical when we read things like this, but since we were near there today we thought it might be a good idea to stop for lunch. It’s a small place in a compact strip mall. We entered and before sitting down we took a look at the pizzas being offered by the slice. I noticed the Sicilian pie which looks very much like the type that I grew up with, as I used to live in Yonkers, very near the Bronx line. We took a menu, took a seat and began to ponder what we would order. We could have just ordered a couple of slices, but I don’t think that one can honestly evaluate the quality of something that has already been sitting out for at least ½ hour. We decided to order a freshly cooked pie. Our choice, surprisingly was not the Sicilian, but the margherita; a simple but elegant pie such as this is a good indicator of whether the pizza guy has a grip on making pizza… All sorts of fancy toppings can cloud the issue, and disguise a very mediocre pizza. Here is where I became confused. They advertise as Authentic Wood Fired Pizza, but our pizza took much longer to arrive than what we are usually accustomed to in other pizzerias that have wood fired ovens. Maybe there is a different meaning here. I didn’t ask… in any case it wasn’t a big deal, just thought I’d mention it. Our pizza arrived hot and it looked very appetizing, but my instincts were telling me something was not quite right. Anyone who has read any of my reviews regarding pizza on Unilocal,is already aware that I can be hard to please when it comes to this blissfully wonderful food… So those of you probably know what I’m about to say: Sweetie, this ain’t the Bronx… Lol. It’s not even Yonkers. It is Connecticut … In a fake Bronx wrapper… And that being said, it was not the worst I’ve had. Two other CT pizzerias tie for that distinction. This pizza was thin, which is not a negative point, but it was dry, as if it had been in the oven too long, without the usual outcome of being burnt. The fresh mozzarella was okay. The sprinkling of the pecorino Romano tasted very commercial. more salt than cheese flavor. The sauce… NO. The sauce is the same kind of sauce that you would expect on your eggplant parm or meatball wedge…(Yeah. I said wedge. Where I’m from its not called a hoagie, not a sub, not a grinder and not a hero.) Sorry guys but you just don’t put that type of sauce on pizza. Pizza must have pizza sauce. To be fair maybe with 3 or 4 toppings it would have been better, but not for me. So my curiosity has been satisfied, but not my palate… And I squandered all those calories :-(
