Applebee’s

No matter what time of day or week or amount of customers, they simply can not serve fires at room temperature or above. I have no clue why they can’t keep food warm from the kitchen to the table, so if I’m with a group and have to go here, I make sure to order a salad because at least that should be cold.

I think that Applebee’s is a great «go-​to» restaurant for casual occasions or informal celebrations. The menu is diverse enough to please most tastes. I went with a friend I haven’t seen in ages. The noise level was bearable and the hosts and servers were friendly. We ordered from the popular «Two For $ 25» menu. The entrees came with salads that were fresh and crisp. I had the Bourbon Street Chicken and Shrimp. It was literally sizzling hot. The food was very flavorful and yummy. It came with a side of red potato wedges, which were perfectly cooked and seasoned. My friend had a sirloin steak, which was cooked just as she’d ordered it, medium rare. This came with garlic mashed potatoes and a colorful variety of vegetables. The veggies were not cooked well at all and were left untouched. Other than that, no complaints.

Ordered take-​out. Mushroom Swiss burger and American Standard burger — both were awesome! Quick service too! Highly recommended!

It was te most disgusting meal I’ve had. The shrimps were super greedy and almost burnt and the fries had a pound of salt in them… literally. I usually don’t have bad things to say about the places I’ve been out to eat, but this meal was very disappointing. I don’t recommend anyone to come here.

I would give it three stars but that’s being way too nice. My family has came here 6+ times and each time we have came the service has been getting worse. And the only reason we have came back that many times is because it’s the only one in town. But because of how terrible our service was last time, my family won’t be returning even though the food is on point 95% of the time.

It was a typical Applebee’s experience. There apparently aren’t that many independent restaurants in Watertown to eat at, so we chose Applebee’s. The six of us all split the 2 for $ 25 menu items. The food was actually pretty good — I had a shrimp and chicken sizzler, and a ceasar salad. My sister had a mac and cheese dish and a ceasar salad. I had a margarita and it wasn’t watered down. I felt generally satisfied after eating here.
The waitress was friendly. The manager stopped by our table just to check on us, and since we were all happy he just chit-​chatted. It seemed to be a very friendly environment.

Went to Watertown Applebee’s on ¹¹⁄₂₆ and it was quite slow in there. Ordered a salad in place of French fries and it had a rotten (and I mean rotten, r-​o-​t-​t-​e-​n!) tomato in it. We ate the rest of our food and I brought the tomato to our waitresses attention. I had no expectation for a refund, etc and the waitress (she was great) took my plate to the manager. She returned several minutes later and said «The manager apologized». What kind of customer service is that? The manager can’t come to our table and say a couple words himself? Piss poor leadership for your employees! There’s about 25 other restaurants with a 3 mile radius of this Applebee’s and you’re better off going elsewhere.

always understaffed. expect to wait half an hour while you look at empty tables even at peak hours. the food is alright though.

Great service as usual. Loved the quesadilla burger & the new automated table ordering & check-​out. Great kids meal selections. Great portion sizes & prices.

We came here around 10:30pm just wanting drinks and late night snacks. Not sure if because it’s late or they were fixing to close, but the service was horrible. They close at 12am so we figured we had plenty of time. Not sure if I want to come back anytime soon.

Not bad place been here a few times before. It was packed. Food is good but the wait time seemed like forever

This is our favorite place in Watertown. The staff is very kind and our waitress Mindy is always in a great mood. The food is delicious and they seem to strive to make it exactly as you like. The 2 for 20 deals are just perfect and a very reasonable evening out.

we tried this four five time and everytime the food that we usually order are taseted different. The lastime we ate food not taseted right the drink is not right and I thing we been charged too much.

Honestly, I was not expecting much, since well, it IS an Applebees, but I was happily surprised! We ordered a few entrees — everything was served quickly, and was tasty and healthy. Our server was very helpful, responsive and extremely polite.
If you’re in the area and need something quick and basic, it can be a nice choice!

We ordered a few sandwiches to go as we passed through town. Had to wait a bit, the food was standard and the staff friendly. It’s a chain, I had a gift card. Sadly when confronted with Applebee’s I loved their veggie patch pizza which was discontinued and then their asian chicken wrap which was discontinued, I have neither the interest nor the fortitude to find another item I like.

Quick service, affordable price, food quality well, desired better tasting. Cook unsure of steak cooking. Order medium and received what I would call a medium well or even well no pink in the middle. Vegetables tastes like they were microwaved.
If wanting steak just go the roadhouse better meat.

I was headed up to Canada with my father this week, and he suggested we make this our half-​way stop. He’d said he’d been here before a number of times and it was satisfactory. I’m not sure how long ago that was, or what has happened to my father’s standards…
We pulled in just before 11am, and had to wait outside a few minutes. No big deal. After the doors are opened, I beeline it for the rest room. It was clean enough which is a HUGE deal on road trips. It also helps being the first one in the place too.
I ordered the Chicken fajita roll up, and dad had the fried green tomato turkey sandwich. It was all just «ok.» Nothing special about any of the food. My dad’s coffee came in a to-​go cup since the mug washer apparently was broken. It was terrible tasting regardless of the cup it was in.
The booth we had wasn’t clean. I saw crumbs on the windowsill (which I don’t understand anyways), and there were streaks on the windows. I grabbed a sugar packet and it had caked on food from who-​knows-​when on it. ICK!
The music in the place was terrible 90’s junk. I don’t know a single person who enjoys listening to «jenny from the block» while eating their lunch. And it was loud too with so few patrons in the place at 11am.
I generally dislike chains, and Applebee’s has long been on my personal «NO GO» list. This just reaffirms my position on the whole matter.

No stars. This place has the worst service in town, we’ve had food flung at us for complaining about under cooked food as well as being ignored and forgotten about. The food unfortunately is going downhill as well. The management doesn’t seem to care. This will be my last visit to this apple bee’s.

My mother and I went there about a year ago to eat a late lunch. I was really looking forward to setting down and visiting with her over lunch after not seeing her for awhile. We both went in and were told by one of the wait staff that we needed to wait to be seated. We stood there for nearly 30 minutes and there was 4 or 5 empty booths that were open right across from us. There was the one female hostess who was too busy flirting with a few of the male customers to seat us. Finally, we took it upon ourselves to seat ourselves in one of the empty booths. One of the waitresses at another table by the booths saw us set down and preceded to walk by us 3 or 4 times and totally ignore us. We waited for yet another 20 minutes of being totally ignored and we finally got up and left. I’ve never went back and never will.

A group of friends and myself went to Watertown and felt like grabbing a bite to eat before shopping. The restaurant we were planning on going to didn’t open until FOUR and it was only two, so someone suggested the Applebee’s that we’d had drinks at last week for happy hour. Now I am not a fan of Applebee’s or anything Chili’s, TGI Friday’s etc. etc. The food is always the same and never impressive. Why did I think this trip would be any different?
Our waitress greeted us and got our drinks right away. My boyfriend and I decided to try the 2 meals plus appetizer for $ 20. I’ve been seeing the commercials on television for their new pasta dishes and picked the Florentine ravioli with chicken and a side of coleslaw. My bf ordered steak with mashed potatoes and veggies, and we decided on the spinach & artichoke dip for the app. Our friend also ordered the spinach dip and his came out first, he said something about the tortilla chips being way too salty. Of course when our dip came out and we tried it, the chips were literally coated in coarse salt, it looked like the big salt chunks you get on the rim of a margarita glass. I had to actually rub the chips with my fingers to get some of the salt off to eat them, then I had salt covered fingers. The dip was pretty good and the salsa that came with it. Our waitress came back and let us know she was taking her break and that another girl would be taking care of us.
A few minutes later our meal came out. My plate looked like I had ordered another appetizer, or maybe a child size lunch. The portion was less than the size of my fist, and there were maybe three or four measly strips of chicken. Bravely, I cut a ravioli in half and a piece of the chicken and took a bite. The chicken had no texture at all, like some processed fake meat that had been microwaved, not grilled. The ravioli tasted of cheese and salt, and after two more bites I realized everything on the plate tasted the same. There was no flavor distinction what so ever, just this weird off taste of salty cheese. I had to put my fork down. I NEVER send my food back unless they mess up the order, and I will usually eat what I pick from a menu because most of the time it tastes half way decent. This dish was just AWFUL. While I mentioned this to my bf our friend overheard us and also claimed his meal was uneatable. When the new waitress came back she asked if she could clear the appetizer plates and I mentioned she could also take my dish. She asked if something was wrong and when I told her the truth, instead of apologizing she actually said, «Really? It’s my favorite dish here!» WOW. That is nice and all but either the chef messed up or you are trying to make it sound like my taste buds are off. She asked if I wanted something else made and like a smart person who doesn’t want their food spit in I declined and said I was no longer hungry.
Instead, I ate my tiny side of coleslaw which thankfully tasted normal, and some of my boyfriend’s mashed potatoes and veggies (which also were as bad as my pasta, again they had no separate flavor, just the gross oil they were cooked in, vegetables shouldn’t be hard to mess up people!)
We all agreed the cook was having a MAJOR crisis and that the only time we would be returning to Applebee’s was strictly for a liquid happy hour. Our waitress was decent enough to take the pasta off our bill (I know it wasn’t her fault the dish was bad, she only serves the food) and we left her a nice tip.
This meal only confirmed that I will never eat from Applebee’s or the like again.
