I ordered Carside to Go last week, which I have done many times in the past but this time was the last. The quality of the food was so poor and they left out almost all accompanying sauces. I would not be submitting this review but I contacted Guest Relations for Applebee’s on 06/18, a week ago, and they haven’t responded yet. The reason that the lace of sauces is relevant is that I ordered an appetizer special where this is part of the dish. The staff is pleasant but the food looked as if someone had kicked the bag. Here is what I sent to Guest Relations: I ordered dinner tonight and it is absolutely the worst thing I have ever gotten from Applebees. The appetizer combo was missing all of the accompanying sauces. The sweet potato fries weren’t thoroughly cooked and were missing the Sriracha lime sauce. The Sriracha shrimp looked like it had been dropped. There was no garnish on it either. Most of the food was cold. I was really disappointed, I have ordered carside to go in the past and even sent positive feedback about it. This was so disappointing that I am hoping that you will take some measure beyond a $ 5 coupon to correct it. The majority of the meal had to be reheated and lacked the sauces. See the attached photos. With regard to sauces that don’t exist, I can’t take photos of that. I look forward to your response.

Before I give a review I usually give the place a good time to convince me that it can get better but this time I just couldn’t. Every thing from wating for a table to just getting a check took forever. Even the service was all over the place. Our waiter Laura C. took wrong orders, gives out food first before drinks to some and we had to remind her to take our plates after we were finished. There was just too much wrong going on. No correct order. I usually like applebees but the one here in Watsonville is nothing to my liking. I won’t be back and don’t recommend to come to this garbage place.

I used to come here all time because it is nearby my house and convenient but I had enough of bad service here, all other places seems fine. So last night I came here with my boyfriend and his cousin, we wanted to seat at the dining area instead of the high tables at the bar where the hostess recommending at to seat, we don’t mind waiting for what they said would be 10 minutes but it seems longer than that, then we sat on our table, looked at the menu. We started looking for what we wanna drink at that time. A good 15mins of wait for the server to come and hoping that they will at least offer us a drink or something. Nothing like we don’t even exist. So we go ahead and looked for what we wanna eat. We’re ready and all but still no show from our server whoever it supposed to be…, finally I guess my boyfriend made an eye contact to one of the server and the lady said that she will be right over with us, so we waited again for someone and offer us a freaking drinks but nothing after 20−25mins or so of wait we decided to leave the place and find somewhere nearby who can give us a better service. This wasn’t the first time that happens to us tho and if there is an option of no star rating I would but I’d give 1!!!

Worst service. Ever. We went in and got a 15 min wait. Forty minutes later, everyone else was getting seated before us. I’ll never come here again. Very inconsiderate and rude.

Soooo we decided to make a weekend out of Santa Cruz and decided to go to Applebees. This is by far the worst food and service we have ever gotten from a restaurant, my son ordered a corndog with yogurt and a soda, his mom ordered off the kids menu due to a surgery and ordered grilled chicken and mashed potatoes… well what she got was a completely burned and blacked chicken that was drier than the Mojave. Horrible, I would have asked a waiter to get a new one but we never saw him after the food was brought out… I order the breakfast burger and the bun was so burned that I couldn’t eat it, way to hard so I took the top off and had to eat it open face style. I will never eat at the store again, very disappointed, and not worth the $ 27 I paid… ridiculous

Decent service and the food just has that decent flavor as well. The vibe is really nice and it’s a cool place to hang out with family, colleagues or just friends. The bar looks like the best place to be at for Sunday football game night and the restaurant is well taken care of on the inside. Would be back every so often but if you are a local I think this is a good place to be.

Never again! Horrible service, my girls i and went for a late drink on the bar side. The servers were rude, I asked for napkins 3 times. Not till the third time I got napkins. We were there for 2 hours, we asked for the check, which took for ever to get. We handed a girl my card. 10 min pass by, 20 min, 30 min, 40 min, 1 hour later nothing! Come to find out, it was because they could not find my card. We ask the girl who took over our table when our server went home. She went to go get my card, and said that they could not find it! WHAT??? This is ridiculous, who did you give my card to? They got the manager, the manager Aaron was not helpful what so ever. He claimed to look for the card, when I would look back, he was picking up things from table. If you are a manager you will anything in your power to fix the problem. He was doing nothing to help the situation. At this point, I asked, what they were doing to fix this. They had no answer. So I said. so what you are telling me, is that your employee took my card or you gave it to someone else. Aaron apologized, he could not explain how this could happen, these people do this on the daily all day! How could this happen?. I will never come to this place again, I will tell everyone I know. The manager said that the drinks were on the house, that doesn’t not help anything! I don’t want free drinks, I want my damn card. If this was their fix, I would have ordered drinks for everyone and there mom. This is outrageous. So disappointed what this place has come to, be careful people, if you go here pay with cash! Or just don’t go at all. Horrible all around. The cancelled my card, but come to find out is that someone ran up my card 5 times at a gas station, 4 times at jack in box. This caused fees on my account, I’m filling a police report. If their employee took my card and did all this fraud, they have another thing coming.

Drinks are ok food not as great as before. Everytime I go and sit at the bar there’s always the same waitress that is rude and literally throws the menu at you and ignores you. Place used to be good. What has hapoened??? I believe the name of the waitress is well it showed on my check lynn, not sure but not cool.

Stopped in for a drink before our movie. Hostess sat us, waitress gave us menus, then we weren’t helped for 15 minutes. We were there long enough to see a couple arrive after us, get tired of waiting for service at the bar, and leave. The worst part is that when the bartender noticed, all he did was pick up the menus and laugh. Better off paying more at Cilantros, but actually be waited on.

Hahahahahahaha!!! This place is a JOKE Took my two kids here tonight for dinner. I kept noticing this little toddler girl– maybe 15 – 20 months old, running around the dining area. Didn’t think too much of it as some parents think not supervising their own children in a public place is acceptable(I don’t agree) but when MY server came up to the table HOLDING this little girl I was beyond shocked!!! She asked if we needed anything– I asked for water and asked if the little girl was hers… She said… Get ready for it… «Oh no, she’s not mine… She’s my managers. We all have to sorta be her babysitter.» What.the.heck!!! Yes. I am serious. So for the rest of the dining experience I watched several more servers and the hostess pick up this snot nosed toddler who was toodling and falling all over the floor, and I’m sure –without-stopping to correctly wash their hands before dropping my water your food etc off to tables. DISGUSTING. I wonder how corporate is going to like the next email I’ll be sending… Or wait maybe it should be to the county health department??? Manager should be FIRED. So not ok to force servers to do their jobs and babysit. Not sanitary by any means. Skip this place unless you’re wanting a train wreck circus style entertainment with your meal and willing to risk getting sick. Management thinks this is ok, who KNOWS what else is/isn’t happening there!!!

Came here again. It was really busy and packed. The guy who served us was really nice and helpful. Although it was a bit slow(they were packed) the food was good. They overcharged us but we got that corrected and everything was good. Would come again.(:

Right now I’m waiting on a refill of chips that the«kitchen is working on»??? I didn’t know refilling chips was so complicated. Service here is horrible and I’ve tried to like this place, it’s bad every time I come here. We used the tablet to call our server and it took about 7 minutes and the manager walked by 3 times and saw the red light blinking and didn’t even stop! Our food came out cold and wasn’t even that good. And they had ants crawling on the table, gross! Applebees needs to get more servers, cooks and management and they all need to be properly trained.

Below average in all regards. This Applebee’s is sadly in line with this chain restaurants reputation of sub par food for the masses at cheap prices. Server was very nice and attentive, décor was to be expected, and cleanliness was average to include the bathrooms. This place has that unique foul smell about it that is far too familiar with chain eateries such as IHOP, Shoneys, Dennys, and anything with a cheap buffet. Let’s just say it’s not pleasant and is likely from soiled carpet and floor mats. The lunch menu appears to offer many choices but is confusing and overly complex. The food itself was delivered as ordered, yet salads were straight from the costco industrial sized pre-made salad bags. My oriental chicken salad was the standard mixed cabbage salad from costco with some crispy noodles and sliced almonds tossed on top. It was also wilted, dry, and unwashed; nice job Applebee’s. My tortilla soup was lacking actually tortillas, was chicken soup from can instead with some chopped jalapeño peppers thrown on top, and watered down. My bread stick was still partially frozen and hard as a rock. I have had worse but have decided this is my last trip to Applebee’s. Sorry but not even worth a second chance.

Mediocre at best; fancier version of fast food with ever shrinking portions. Service has always been good, pleasant, happy to see us BUT they need to re establish a REAL mgt team, the staff is green and has no idea how to efficiently handle issues. Issues: large groups, we waited over an hr with 8ppl meanwhile several groups of 6 or smaller were sat, indicates poor dining room mgt skill, again not the staffs fault, they’re green. Another issue: glass in a margarita, good thing it wasn’t blended, still charged for it since it was more than half drank when the glass was identified, umm WTF. I originally ranked it a 2 but upped it to a 3 after writing this since I think the staff performs well and the food delivers on what you expect at this price point. The bar is fun, had one bad experience with a bar tender, she just wouldn’t serve us or ANYONE who didn’t appear to be a single man, the second bar tender seemed pretty annoyed with her too. FYI I’ve been to the bar or received a drink from it atleast 15 times so 1 bad exp is like 5 service in my book. 5 if you’re going for drinks and appetizers…

Two stars and that goes to the nice waitress. One star for the food. She sure knows what she is doing. I walked out spending 10 dollars more than what I wanted to though… The four cheese Mac and cheese with the honey bbq strips for the 2 for 25 $$ entreé was usually so good… but this time it had really sweet juices at the bottom of the Mac and cheese. Not so tasty when you have your mind and heart set on something salty and cheesy ! It was okay… At the top. Couldn’t finish more than half because of the sweetness. Next time I will have them just do regular Mac and cheese and then separate the chicken strips! For sure ! Recommended ! Overall. BF got the steak and loaded mashed potatoes that came with steamed veggies. I was jealous at the end and should have definitely gotten that! I tried it and it was amazing! Good service. But they do have a little fly problem! That’s why they get no more stars! Ugh!

I really do not see what all the bad reviews are about. We’ve always had great service, the food comes to the table quickly, is always affordable and you know exactly what you are going to get. The new look in the dining room is more open and all the stained-glass is gone. There’s an open view to the bar and all the TVs too. Nice for football season. On our last visit, our waitress’ name was Alma and she was a delight. She welcomed us with a big smile, answered our questions, didn’t try to push us into ordering appetizers, didn’t rush us into ordering, and didn’t make us feel bad when we didn’t want dessert. She brought our iced teas, then our lunch orders promptly. I really like the lunch combo deals but they are only available Monday thru Friday so I opted for a small lunch chicken salad. Husband had one of the new Pub Menu deals: steak with quinoa and mixed veggies. You are usually on shaky ground when you order steak in a place like Applebee’s — and I’ve only had a tough one once — but this time it was great. The only thing I don’t get is the little«presto» electronic gadget thing on each table. Yes, you can order that way or call your waiter but why would anyone want to PAY99 cents to play games on it? Isn’t that was your cell phone is for? I also wonder how many of them have been stolen… Face it, Applebee’s is not fine dining, if that’s what you want, go somewhere else. Applebee’s is a nice family-oriented place with something on the menu for everyone. I’m not a regular customer but when I do go, I leave happy.
