Delicious home style Chinese food! The man that owns and runs the joint was very friendly. Great ma and pop restaurant that will become my to-go place for good Chinese food.

Absolutely amazing! Ordered for the first time today. A friend referred me to them and boy I am glad i listened. Ming toy use to be my favorite place, but not anymore. Fresh, clean tasting food. Good amount of food with plenty of left overs. I will definitely come back. That chili sauce is to die for!!! I put that on the rice to add a spicey kick. If you like spicey food, the 25 cents for the chilli sauce is worth it.

Back home we have a go to place for Chinese food that is fantastic and during our travels we have tried many other places but they have never been as good… until tonight. China Garden is now our new #1 favorite The food was amazing and the service was phenomenal! Their Crab Rangoon was to die for! I had the pork with mushrooms and my wife had the chicken lo mein and everything was so delicious. Can’t wait to go back!

We’re at Waukegan marina for awhile so I thought I’d get takeout from china garden — most of what I ordered I really liked; roast pork lo mein was very good! I put a little sir racha for spice and it bounced it up a notch :-) Also BBQ spare ribs — yummy and huge! Messy but worth it wow! The other dish I loved was ma po tofu! Slightly sweet slightly spicy tofu with veggies a nice veg dish to try! I wasn’t impressed with the pork fried rice surprisingly — it was rather ho hum and didn’t eat more than a few bites. Altogether nice little spot and I may try other dishes if we’re here much longer. Check it out good food.

I like this place. When first walked in the server was really friendly and patient. I’m the type that reads the entire menu and asks million questions she was very knowledgeable about all of the items on the menu that I asked about, even the prices. This was a good american rendition of chinese food. I cant say it was authentic but it was definitely delicious. The atmosphere was cute it could use some redecorating but it was a cozy little place that did its best to be a tribute to china. They offer dilivery which is nice. We went to this place after Chicago got 10 inches of snow and the lot was ploughed. I think that this place was good. It had a very extensive menu. I would say by way of suggestions get more trash cans and redecorate the place other than that it was good and did what it set out to do.

My call to order ahead went to voice mail, and, of course they said they never got the message. I asked for my favorite dish, but the cook rebuffed my request saying that it would not taste very good. Now, I’ve had my favorite dish other places, so I know how it tastes, generally. The entry was kept freezing and dirty. The order taker and I could see our breath as we spoke. The sign was not lit, so I drive past it twice.

Just moved to this area and was given China Garden as a great restaurant. They certainly were right! Great food, great staff. Delivery was prompt and courteous. Definitely check it out!

I absolutely love this place. I haven’t found another good Chinese food place out here. Now I admit the décor is pretty terrible but that doesn’t change the quality of the food. The price is great and they always give more than I can eat. I’ve been going Here since I’ve arrived in north Chicago. I usually get the sesame chicken and its always yummy.

Horrible. It’s like they ordered it from somewhere else and served it to us. Paper plates and plastic spoons and forks?! No…

Absolutely never been disappointed! I love Chinese food but I LOVELOVE this place. I’m a vegetarian and they have a ton of options, like orange tofu(which isn’t on the menu but is a MUST try). I’ve tried so many Chinese places from here to chicago and I love china garden about all. Their food taste fresh and isn’t overly saturated in oils, sauces and grease. Great crab rangoons, veggie steamed potstickers and veggie rice(which has actual veggies in it, not just peas and onions).

There are some Americanized Chinese gems on the menu that are some of the best you can get anywhere. The Orange Chicken is perfect with bits of orange zest and a perfect coating. The Crab Meat Rangoons are smaller then you might get at other places, but they are delicious and you get 8 per order. The Pork Lo Mein… the Pork Lo Mein… speechless. Somehow it’s meaty and smoky and light with perfectly cooked noodles and just the right amount of everything. A few of the items are a bit hit or miss, but if you stick with the classics, you will be very happy with what you get.

I can’t say much about a lot of the menu because I normally just stick to the orange chicken and crab Rangoon. Both are exceptional! They give you about 8 crab rangoons in one order and they are the best! The orange chicken is also really good and it’s a full portion that could easily be shared for two people.

I am in love with their potstickers. Love! Thick skinned, juicy, bursting with meaty goodness. I’ve never had anything I didn’t like. We always order out and pick at the crab Rangoon on the way home! Lo mien is tender and I always get it as the BBQ pork and I’m never disappointed. My brother loves the orange chicken! And my boyfriend gets the beef and broccoli. So good! I love the atmosphere. There are children’s drawings everywhere. A cute little fish tank in the corner. There is a simple ratting area in the back. My favorite Chinese restaurant in Waukegan!

If you are looking for very cheap Chinese food and you don’t mind a «homely» kind of atmosphere then try this place. We went as a group of eleven and we ended up very full even with leftovers. We spent only $ 5 each. They serve very basic Chinese food. While their Hunan wasn’t so good, basic American Chinese dishes like Mongolian, Szechuan, and other beef and chicken dishes were not bad for the price. On the outside it looks a little shady but give it a chance and you will be surprised.

I love this place and have been here many times. Originally, it had a tiny area and food were picked up or delivered mostly. They did expand to another door to cater for sit-in dining experience. So now down with their food. I can’t complain, I tried almost everything and have not been disappointed although I think they need to re-look at their sweet and sour batter, to me it need to lessen so the chicken can be the center piece not the sauce and batter. I love, love their sweet donuts but you need to eat them while it’s hot. Try their lo-mein special specially shrimp. They put lots of shrimps in their fried rice and almost any order with shrimps in it. Lastly, the owner is lovely. She’s very personable and approachable. Please give this little Asian restaurant a try and you won’t be sorry. Don’t expect for a 4 or 5 star atmosphere because this is just a neighborhood Asian restaurant.

Sweet and sour chicken and shrimp lo mein were the shiznit!!! I always get mine to go(small dining area), but I’d dine in there if I were alone because it has a family/homely feel to it. Nothing extra fancy about the inside of this place, the food is just pretty good. My wife is VERY picky about her orange chicken and sesame chicken, and she enjoyed theirs. One of the best chinese restaurants in Lake County!
