The neighborhood is NOT unsafe. If Hispanic people bother you, just don’t go to Waukegan. Can a buffet such as this get five stars? Debatable. However, for less than ten dollars, I ate all I wanted. I was happy with the food. I was happy with the service, BEFORE I gave a tip. Kudos for having egg foo young, which most Chinese buffets don’t have because it isn’t really«Chinese,» and for including the drink in the purchase price.(I HATE it when drinks are extra, and usually just get water in such a case.) After I tipped the lovely lady, she touched me every time she was near. By the end of my meal, I was ready to propose. YES, I would and will return.

For the price $ 10.89, a pretty good selection of food, more seafood v meats but still tasty. Compared to the buffets in NY, better in some areas while equivalent in most.

Yay! I’m a fan! Food– 5 stars Ambiance– 2 stars Location– 2 stars It is in the Belvidere Plaza. It is kind of crummy, dirty, old, ran down, ghetto customers… you get it. However, their food is pretty bomb. It would be safe to say it is my favorite Chinese food joint in the Gurnee/Waukegan/Zion area. I always go for the rice, lo mein, mushrooms, crab rangoons, garlic bread, fried fish fillets and fried calamari. Mmmm, I’m getting hungry just writing about it. However, the inside of the place is kind of dingy and ran down as well. Weekends can be pretty packed. So do what I do and choose take out. $ 8.50 lb for reg food. $ 11.50? lb for seafood. They also have sushi. I personally do not find it very tasty but my hubby likes it and hasn’t gotten sick from it(ha! but seriously). All in all is one of my regular take out spots.

$ 12.95 for dinner buffets, 8 different buffet isles. Food is not fresh, artery cloggiing ingredients, a lot of grease. In a very sketchy part of town. The worst part is, you walk in and there is this repulsive paint smell. A lot of seating but pretty much you come to eat unhealthy food, conveyor belt style check out line, dude at check out line super unfriendly. AVOID.

Had dinner there tonight because I was in the area. There were hardly anyone in there which didn’t bother me. What bothered me was every other dish was empty! I was very unhappy. I asked if they could bring some wings out, and they asked, how many? It’s a buffet! I didn’t know there was a limit. The food was very bland and food was sitting Sooooo long, the meat was dark, dried out, and hard as rock. I’m unsure why and how this place has the ratings it does, but I will not be back.

This is one of the many Chinese buffets that I have tried in the area. It is by far the best one. Good selection of food, sushi, soups, and dessert. They even have both Coke and Pepsi products.

Although the neighborhood is very sketchy, its worth trying this place. The food is really very good. My favorite is the shrimp in a light sauce and the chinese noodles. I dont eat red meat so I cant tell you about that. They seem to have a good variety and nice dessert… but beware the ice cream with kids digging in with no supervision. The egg foo young sauce often has a skin on top which is kind of gross. Its a shame its in such a rotten neighborhood. Its the best around. Its always crowded and noisy on weekends so we try to go during the week. They clean the dirty plates off your table quickly and we always leave a tip.

I came to Jumbo Buffet from Las Vegas, Nevada, and I was pleasantly surprised. There is a ton of seats and space and a huge selection of food. I’m not sure if they change their menu often, but the food that I tasted was pretty good. They serve sushi, and a mix of Asian and American food. There was some items that were just so-so, but It’s pretty damn good and deserves more reviews! The people who run this place are extremely hospitable and kind! There wasn’t too many people around so they served us drinks even though they didn’t have to! If you want a taste of Asian food and don’t want to stop eating, take a look at this buffet, it’s pretty worth it! :)

Excellent food selection, including seafood for the price(~$ 11.50 for dinner) Shrimp(peel and eat, salt and pepper, and stirfried in white sauce), mussels in brown sauce, salmon fillet, as well as ok sushi(avocado rolls, california rolls, salmon, and shrimp). The sushi seems rather fresh so I believe they make it on site. They have your regular run of the mill sweet and sour/general tsos, fried rice and noodles. They have hot wings in a slightly sweet spicy sauce which were excellent. The dining area is clean but quite loud. There were plenty of families with young kids running loose and the restaurant has vaulted ceilings which seem to amplify noise. The bathrooms are not dirty but are definitely run down. There was gang grafiti scrawled on the walls which tells you a bit about the area.
