Johnny Carino’s

I have been coming to this same Johnny Carino’s for 10+ years and it has always been great! Of course there was a time or two that we had a bad waiter but they are human and made it right, so thats what counts to me.

Today we came here waited more than 10 minutes after being seated and was never waited on nor acknowledged that we were even there. They were not even that busy to begin with. The 2 hostesses never even acknowledged they had just seated us when we left. They are 2 better Italian restaurants in hachie with better service.

My husband and I went last Saturday night, got sat at our table when my husband looked over and saw a roach walking across the wall, we told the waiter, that at that point took is black book that you get your bill in and squished it and said «sorry they just can’t control them» we will not be returning

This restaurant used to be my favorite place in town, service was slow, I just dealt with it, but the service has gotten worse and worse. And, one of the night managers was a complete grump! She was completely unprofessional when there was an error. Instead of trying to fix it, just had the attitude of too bad too sad. Glasses look dirty, etc.

We’re from Houston and my parents suggested this. Definitely impressed with the service and food– Amber who worked at the bar was very attentive and courteous. The Bellini was AWESOME definitely try this drink, especially on a hot summer day.

I don’t think this Johnny Carino’s deserves such a low rating. I came here with a group of five people and we were seated quickly. We were given bread and our drink orders came at a reasonable time. The food was what I expect at an Italian restaurant chain. I had the balsamic chicken which I would recommend. I paired it with a Pinot Grigio which went nicely with it. Again, nothing special about Johnny Carinos but it definitely should be ⁴⁄₅ stars and not any lower.

Went for my anniversary. Had pasta with chicken and shrimp and it was awful. The pasta had been coated in oil and there was no flavor in the sauce except pure hot. Worst meal ever. Don’t know what has happened to this restaurant. Used to be about a 4 star.

I feel silly even writing a review about a mediocre chain restaurant but they pretty much force your hand when they can’t even execute on a basic level. We were sat at a dirty table. When I asked for it to be cleaned, the hostess comes back with a napkin and tries to clean it. After asking the waitress to clean the table, another person comes over and tries to clean it with a paper napkin. The floors are dirty. Dirty tables with dishes stacked up everywhere and all on a Monday night where the parking lot is virtually empty. I’m not sure what is going on here but it is apparent that the leadership doesn’t really care. I would avoid this place if I were you.

I’ve been a fan of Johnny Carino’s for over 10 years now. I always start off with the Italian Nachos. I get the chicken and sausage combo, they are delicious. The bread and oil that they bring to the table is awesome, my son always eats about two loaves by himself. I usually get a salad with house dressing before my meal. The house dressing is probably the best dressing that I have ever had at a Italian restaurant. I’ve tried most of the pasta dishes on the menu and have always had a great meal. I don’t usually eat steak away from steakhouses, but the Tuscan Ribeye is really good.
My wife has a gluten allergy and loves this place because she has so much food to choose from.

Food is always good here BUT I don’t understand why service is so slow. Our waitress let 20 mins go by without even checking on us at one point. It’s not very crowded so I am not sure why the service was lacking. We were dining for 2 and were stuck here for well over an hour… twiddling our thumbs most of the time. Disappointed. Lastly, my daughter ordered a kids sundae and they forgot her cherry on top:(Thumbs down for her too. Haha.

Service was TERRIBLE! Had to wait at least 15 minutes for waitress to show up, and they were not busy at all, then had to wait another 10 minutes for her to bring drinks and bread. All just went down hill from there. Food was not good, chicken on Italian nachos tasted like bottom of the barrel cheap chicken, sausage on nachos had alot of gristle. Waitress never could figure out how to split the check and took forever to pay out. Manager gave 5 $ coupon for next visit that does me no good because I will NOT be going back.

The food is pretty good and the portions are large. We have always had good service here without problems.

This is going to be a very tricky review to write. So let me start by saying that I’ve always enjoyed Carino’s FOOD when I come to this location. The service on the other hand, I don’t have one positive thing to say about it. Olive Garden is right next door, and after tonight’s experience at Carino’s i will be going to Olive Garden next time. The sad part is that we love Carino’s food but they have a terrible staff. We feel so/​so about Olive Garden’s food, but the better SERVICE is why I will not choose Carino’s again. Tonight we sit at a table in the bar section, it took 10+ minutes for a server to bring us menus. That’s fine, you’re a little busy, right? Ha. I’ve been a server myself, and let me just say that my server tonight was the WORST server I’ve ever had at any restaurant, in my entire life. She never told us her name, but the receipt say «Juana» so I assume that was her. She was so unfriendly and disrespectful that I honestly wanted to walk out. My fiancé and I are in our twenties, and the last few times we’ve been here we noticed that we don’t get as good of service as the other «older» people around us. And I sadly believe that was the case once more. I’m really tired of being discriminated against for being young, and having servers treat us like lesser of a customer because they think we won’t tip well or that they don’t need to be respectful to us because we are younger. Juana was very snobby, I said «thank you» every time something was brought to the table. She never said «you’re welcome» and I even heard her say «you’re welcome» to the surrounding tables! Talk about rude. As the restaurant cleared a little more she became even less attentive. She never asked «how are you doing? how is your food? would you like another drink? is there anything i can get you?» All servers as well as restaurant goers know that is a big «NO-​NO». I hope a manager or owner sees this because this is NOT how a server is supposed to act. It’s like she had forgotten that she was at work and that her job was in fact to be my SERVER! Honey, you are getting paid for this! Despite this horrible evening, I tipped around 30% but left a note letting her know the tip would have been more if she had been more respectful. I’m really sad how the evening went, and disappointed that we will have to try a different location next time we want Carino’s. Let me also just say this is the first review I’ve ever written, you know it had to be bad… So if you’re wanting Carino’s think twice about the terrible service you may end up having.

This Johnny carinos was better than others that I have been to. The service was relatively speedy and very friendly. The skilletinis looked really delicious. I had the salmon and I was underwhelmed. I ordered mixed veggies with it. The veggies were really delicious, but they were cold. The salmon was only warm, it was a tiny piece, and it was hard and dry. We had six people in our party so my plate was probably the first one done and sat around for a while. I won’t be back because I don’t live in town. But that being said, I still think it is better than many of the dining options in that area. Meh.

I had the Lobster Ravioli and my husband had the Grilled Lemon Pepper Salmon. My entrée was luke warm & my husband’s potatoes were burnt (had to send them back). While the flavor of the salmon was nice, the salmon was very dry. The cream sauce for the ravioli’s was tasty, but cold.

Let’s talk about the positive. The food and my service. Now onto the negative. This morning I received a text about a BOGO and I called up to Carino’s and spoke to Taylor to see if I bought 4 lunch meals if I’d get two free and she checked with a manager and told me yes. I took my family and we told the waitress what we were trying to do. We ordered 3 sandwiches and 1 bow tie festival lunch. The waitress then handed us the bill with 3 lunches and said it had to be $ 8.99 (which the 3 full sandwiches were 8.99 each). The manager said at that point I had to order pasta. The rules always change here with this incident and many others. One Thursday they left a full order of ribs out of my to go order and said they would send me a gift card and never did after giving them an address to send it to. Then Carino’s took off the pasta points I had accumulated for so long with tons of stuff on there. I am sad to say I will not be back at this Carino’s anymore. I should have known by the exterior as there was tons of weeds and grass sky high what isn’t getting done outside is also not getting done inside. The food is great but the cooks and the servers are the only thing working at for Carino’s.

food was nasty. bill was high not a good place to eat. i have come here 4 times and all 4 times had nasty food.

Atmosphere was pretty good I loved the bar area with the four TVs. The strawberry lemonade drink and pomegranate martini made the visit. Salmon salad was very good. Pizza was subpar but the chicken Romano was spicy, tasty and good

Every Wednesday is ½ price wine. Service in the bar area is fantastic. We always get the Build your own pizza and it’s always good.

Just no.
We had a large party, but it was split into 2 separate tables. Long story short, half of our party never got their food… after 2 hours. The food was either terrible or cold and they actually had the nerve to charge gratuity after half of our party’s meals were already comped. Just… no.
