This place is always a win!!! Whether you come here for dinner or to hang out at the bar it’s wonderful. The food is always good and the prices are so reasonable. Exceptionally friendly service every time. I will continue to come back. What a great little place!

Awful awful awful!!! Very rude, arrogant bartender-negative personality and extremely inattentive –very overpriced! Used to be a great place to go but I would never go back

Great place to hanging out with friends somewhat quite place but it gets busy on the weekends. Food is great, specially the appetizers excellent menu. I always get their Buffalo fingers and Chicken Quesadillas for the appetizers. People who run the place are really friendly always keeping you laughing.

Every time we eat there it’s delicious. The servers are very busy so yes they can be a bit«gruff» otherwise nice place to gather with friends.

Food is good; a destination on St. Patrick’s Day — but the service leaves MUCH to be desired.

Saturday night and it’s time for a steak and a beer with my daughter. We sat at the bar. As always great service and friendly people. I had French onion soup and a prime rib. Marissa had a cheeseburger. Everything was tasty and plentiful. Great night with Marissa.

My wife and I came here on Monday night for Happy Hour, and damn. Is every bar in the 10 mile radius of where I live packed every night for Happy Hour? We try this place on Friday nights for HH from time to time and if you arrive between 4 and 5:30, you’d have better luck meeting God then getting two seats at the bar during these times. You go Jersey! Live up to your name! So, as I was saying, luckily, we found two spots at the bar at about 4:45ish. I ordered a Sam Adams Cold Snap for myself and my wife a Chardonnay. My beer was very cold, served in a frozen glass :-) and my wife got a nice pour of wine for $ 5.00. My beer was $ 6.50… A bit high for hour time-frame, but I guess they don’t have HH specials on Monday… But it is what it is. They also had finger food to snack on; hot wings and cheese fries(steak fries). The hot wings were pretty small and tasted like they were boiled in hot sauce, then put in a serving dish to stay warm. They were ok, nothing to write home about… But I’d be a bit upset if I ordered and paid for wings and got those… I didn’t try the fries, but they looked alright… People were eating them. The food did its job to fill your belly for a small snack… Bottom line: My wife and I love to come here, but as stated, it’s crazy busy if you come at peak times of HH… Which is a good thing! It’s a very nice and cozy atmosphere, and the bartenders are friendly and very punctual. Highly recommended!!!

Grasshopper is definitely a townie bar and I don’t like going because I hate forced/unwanted reunions with people you haven’t spoken to in 10+ years. With that being said, the rest is all great. Their food is pretty legit and they have a large bar with ample seating. I had the Shepard’s Pie with French onion soup and both we’re 5 star worthy. The prices are decent too and there is plenty of parking. The inside is definitely dated and very dark but oh well, the food is good enough that I can look past those insignificant details. All in all if you’re looking for great pub food, this is your spot. It also is a big night life spot for this area as well but I do not really participate in that because I don’t want the forced reunions.

Excellent food. Great atmosphere. Lots of choices. Tuesdays are trivia night. I left full and my pockets weren’t empty either. Quite surprised, will definately go back and probly as an alternative to other places I had been going. An all around good time at Grasshopper anytime I have gone.

My girlfriends and I dined here for lunch today. I am so incredibly disappointed. After narrowing down a list of a few potential lunch choices, we decided to go with Grasshopper too because we wanted a faster lunch that would be under an hour. We arrived around noon, placed our orders, and had the salads and bread basket within a few minutes. At this point, we were one of only a couple occupied tables. After devouring our house salads, our plates were cleared and we waited and waited and waited. After much talking, we realized that we had been sitting at the table for about 1 hour and still had no entrees. When we looked around, we noticed many tables filled with people who came in after us who were just finishing up their lunches. To say that we were displeased was an understatement. I was able to catch our waitresses attention. She told us that she just«pulled your ticket». This perplexed us a bit. Once the waitress hands in a ticket, shouldn’t the meal preparation begin? In my previous visits here, our entrees were usually out just around the time we were finishing up our soups or salads. She claimed that the kitchen was backed up. While the kitchen may in fact have been backed up, if the ticket had been given to the kitchen staff at the time of our order, there shouldn’t have been any backup because there was barely anyone there at that point. About 10 minutes later, our food finally arrived. I asked the waitress to speak with a manager. She immediately got defensive with us and said that it wasn’t her fault that the kitchen was backed up. We told her that we never said it was her fault, but the length of time to receive our entrees was unacceptable. A couple minutes later the manager shows up, also on the defensive. In my experience with restaurant managers, they usually come over in a cordial manner and say something to the likes of, «I understand there is a problem, how can I assist you?» Instead, she came over and said she«can’t comp our meals». Excuse me, but did we even ask you to comp our meals? Talk about being presumptuous. We wanted to alert you of an issue which we felt was unacceptable. After some one sided discussion, she offered us drinks or dessert. We told her again that we needed to get back to work and couldn’t sit there any longer. She had us each select a dessert from the dessert menu, which she packaged and brought out to the table. We boxed up our meals since there was no time to eat. When I got back to work, my friend and I opened up our desserts to find a partial portion. I ordered a slice of NY Style Cheesecake, what I got was a sliver. It was less than ½ inch wide. The manager told us she was giving us each a dessert, not a partial dessert. The slices we received were noticeably smaller than their hefty $ 5.50 price tag. If you offer us a dessert, at least have the decency to give a full-sized portion. I was flabbergasted by this brazen act. To me that was incredibly insulting and a poor business move. Grasshopper Too, I am done with you.

Talk about a homey little Place in NJ. This place is awesome! Beer choices rock, and the food is spot on. Love the Irish fare, and the chicken Francese is amazing!

Fun place to go for happy hour. The complimentary food… hmm…Bland meatballs and pasta. I saw a few people take a bite and push it away. The place was hopping so I guess their real menu food is pretty good. The atmosphere is nice and the bartenders are friendly.

Some of the Grasshopper regulars are very immature. The bands they get are usually good. The food is nothing fancy but still okay. That place could use better lighting. The bartenders and wait staff mess up many orders. Their draft beers taste great but are too expensive. The bouncers are really nice. I had a pleasant conversation with one of them on a slow night.

Best bar in the area hands down. I never find a need to go anywhere else. My friends and I go here all the time. The bartenders are great guys and literally make us feel like we’re the main characters of cheers or some classic shit like that.

Just leaving. Never had the food here, but I know that Taffer was here w/his Bar Rescue show sometime ago. I ordered the bar pizza with sausage. All I can say is WOW!!! This was absolutely the best pizza I’ve had in a bar. Thick, soft crust with big pieces of half moon sausages. I couldnt place what seasoning was in the sauce, but it worked. I was worried if it was going to be too big, but it was a perfect size. Little smaller than an Entemanns Apple pie. Really really good. The bartenders could have been a little more enthusiastic, but I’ll definitely be back for more pizza.

In all my time living in this area I must have passed this place thousands of times thinking it was just a bar. While I was at work one of my co-workers was telling me about the food and I told him I had not idea they even served food… Yeah Yeah I know the sign outside say Pub & Restaurant, but it looks more like a pub than a Restaurant. When we went inside I surprised by the atmosphere. It was very nicely done and it was cozy. You do have to be careful which door you go into since one goes to directly into the bar. It was a Monday evening and usually restaurants are not to busy, but this place had a steady flow coming in and out. As we went over the menu it seemed typical for a Irish themed place. Shepards pie, Fish & chips, Bangers & mash. With the menu we also received a Specials menu .One of the specials was right up my alley. It was a 12 oz Shell steak w/Potato & Veggies, Soup or Salad for $ 13.95.Never wanting to pass up on a good steak I figured it was worth a try. Well I can tell you that the Steak was at least 12 ozs and it was cooked just the way I ordered it. It was very simple and delicious & tender .It looked as if it was trimmed prior to cooking. The Mashed potatoes & mixed vegetables were fresh made, no can or frozen veggies here. The soup that night was Slit pea Yes I know most of us call it split pea, but here it is called Slit pea and it was awesome .I topped off my meal with a nice Guinness(what else would you drink at a place like this). This place was a pleasant surprise that I know I will visit again. It was a very simple meal, but it was well worth the price.

Hands down, my FAVOURITEPUBEVER!.. Its an authentic Irish pub with lots of good beer on tap, lots in bottles and every popular liquor you can think of… The food is good(no, its not gourmet), but the thing that really sets this place far ahead of all other pubs is the bartenders… They are professional and career bartenders, not college kids or hot chicks looking for tips… Even during the busiest times, the bartenders are alert, watching over everything and have a complete handle on the entire place… You’ll never need to flag someone down for anything… By the time you get to the bottom of your glass, they’re right there shooting the $hit with you and seeing if you are having another… It’s great to see a staff who cares about their job and their customers… They’re on top of everything…

Messed up our order then refused to make it because the kitchen was«closed» from the minutes they brought our food… Asked to speak to a manager and Chris said he was… Originally order was jalepenos poppers got bacon broc cheddar bites … Friend can’t eat pork … Completely disrespected. Update: He gave my sister a free drink to make up for poisoning my friend with unkosher food.

I have been to the Grasshopper in Morristown so when a friend and I were driving aimlessly around Wayne, I was quite happen to stumble upon their sister restaurant. This is your average classic American pub, we both got burgers and were satisfied. The service here was a little slow for my liking and especially on a non-busy quiet Thursday night; I expected better. Also the atmosphere of Morristown is more fun, but I guess that has to do with location.
