Very happy with the food here. Every time I pick up food from Opa the host is very friendly. The place always has people there eating — food is good. Definitely worth trying.

I can not say enough good things about Opa and I have been there many times. The service is always on point. There are so many great choices to choose from on the menu, there tzatziki is top notch and the pita bread that they serve you is always warm(even during take out). The sangria is also very very good & reasonably priced. I also like that they do a half of carafe. This is the best Greek restaurant in our area for sure. I have recommended it to many friends and family and no one is ever disappointed!

So I was having a craving for gyro and I had yet to visit this place even though it was near by my gym. I ordered the basic gyro, which came with tzatziki sauce, lettuce, tomato wrapped in fresh soft pita bread. I eat in NYC all the time, and this was easily comparable! It was soooo delicious. The meat was tender, everything was super fresh. I got it for take out but the place is very clean. I def recommend this place!

Opa is amazing. From the fresh hummus and pita to the chicken souvlaki, you can not go wrong with Opa! Get the take out chicken souvlaki salad, it is large and comes with pita!

Flood was very good. Portions where huge. Service was excellent. The pastico was good but a little dry. I asked for tomato sauce and that really helped. Veggie mossaka was great. The dips where good but could be a little more seasoned. Dessert was excellent … go for the donuts with honey . Only real surprise was they charged for an iced tea refill … that I really have never seen before . After this first time visit I will be returning.

The owner was extremely accommodating to our last minute family group on a Saturday night. The service was a little slow, but attentive when they were at the table and got all our group’s orders correct. The Gyros were phenominal. A perfect mix of flavors. The pasticho and Mousakka were very good. A little dry. A little tomato sauce drizzled on the top would have been great. The chicken lemon rice soup was a little too salty and very lemony. The lentil soup was good. A little pricier than what we’re used to, but not unacceptable.

We went back again and noticed some changes: 1 No more $ 10 wine corking fee you have to buy their wine not the end of the world we were wondering how lone this would last 2 The large salad is a lot smaller and they now shred the lettuce. its still good 3 The gyros have less meat and dressing in them as well as shred Lettuce.
The last thing was the worst, our waitress was BAD Barely paid any attention to us and service was NG Will give it another try

I come to Opa often but today when I came to pick up my food I did not get the correct amount of change back and the guy denied me giving him the amount I paid and rudely handled the situation. To be courteous they could have at least notified me of the fee for three extra slices of pita(.95) and tzatziki(1.50) but I do not think I should have been charged for what would have been free anywhere else, especially because I had a large order. Not to mention, I found a large black hair in my sauce and they got my order wrong despite it being correct on the receipt! I will never go to Opa again as I was treated with horrible service when wanting the correct amount of change back, and then coming home to the wrong order and hair in my sauce(which is not the first time I have heard of hair being in the sauce from here!!!)

Second visit to Opa today. My friend and I both had the $ 9.95 lunch special. My friend had the lamb kebab which was fine, served with a small Greek Salad or you can get fries instead. A soft drink is included. I had the chicken kebob — also with a side salad. Both dishes were nice enough and a good deal at the price. Our server was friendly and efficient. Not busy at lunch on a Friday. Food came out of the kitchen fast. Lunch took about forty minutes. I still prefer Zorba which is down the street from Opa. But Opa has the advantage of a liquor license. Beers on tap today were Sam’s seasonal and Shock Top.

Everything I’ve had here was incredible except the fried zucchini, it was very soggy. Been here a few times, doesn’t disappoint!

I’ve definitely experienced better than this. We had the Tzatziki appetizer and I had the Chicken and Grilled Veggies. My date had the Grilled Veggie platter. I guess they didn’t use Greek olive oil. It can be better if you do cook or grill with it. Anyway, the chicken was good. Seasoned correctly. But the veggies, we assumed could not be grilled poorly, were. The Tzatziki was a bit thin and not very seasoned. the atmosphere was not every Greek either. Seemed like i was in a pub or an Irish restaurant. Maybe table clothes or some dashes of blue and white would help. The service was ok, not the best. But when my date had a problem with her dinner, they immediately took it back and she ordered something else and management came over and asked if they could do anything else. So that was very nice.

Stopped into Opa for dinner to celebrate a family member’s graduation. The place had a nice, welcoming décor and a friendly host greeted us immediately upon entry. We ordered both hummus and calamari as our appetizers. The hummus was tasty but I remember thinking that portion was somewhat small for the price. I don’t eat calamari, but the others at the table mentioned that it had a chewy consistency and wasn’t great. Our entire dinner order was somewhat homogenous, with all of us ordering the chicken or beef gyro platters. The entrée came with rice and the selected meat, but no vegetables to accompany the meal. I’m not sure if this is standard or not, but every comparable platter I’ve had at other Greek restaurants offers some veggies. That notwithstanding, the dinner portion sizes were large, with most at the table taking leftovers home. Service was good. The waitress was friendly and helpful, but she was the only server(fortunately they weren’t too busy).

So I’ve been going here for a couple years. I recently ordered a seafood salad for takeout. I ate maybe five bites until I realized there was chewed GUM in the salad. At first glance it looked like feta cheese. But then when I picked it up with gloves, it was gum smelled like mint stretched like gum, it was gum. I called to complain. The owner decided to just defend himself and his staff and didn’t believe me until I brought it in. Hair, a bug, whatever… But gum??? That’s gross. All they did was refund my money and looked at me like I was the crazy one. I will never go back there no matter how fresh their ingredients are… This is my first review on Unilocal. But i needed to do this

wnet for lunch the other day because she wanted greek. Hmmm. The décor is a step above a diner. Glad that they actually served alcohol! And thought it was nice that they had lunch specials for around $ 10. But they were sooooo small. I got three tiny spinach bites and a almost non-existent greek salad. All on a plate that you would use for your bread!!! Really? As for the food… it was not outstanding. In fact the greek salad was week. I get better salads at any of the local diners near here! And when the diner runs a spinach pie special, it’s a huge piece of pie and a very hearty greek salad. I know there are better places out there to go…
