The taste of the food was good. My husband had the monk fish risotto. It was delicious. My son and I both had the flat bread with chorizo and olives. The olives were very salty and took away from the overall taste. The«flat bread«was not flat. It was puffy. The waitress was pushy, slow and in constant upsale mode. Not the best experience but good enough I would try it again.

Cute place with an industrial feel. Food was excellent. Their grits are incredible. My waitress, Rachel was adorable and efficient. If you like good food and friendly service this is the place to try!

I came out dispppointed. I had come from out of town for my birthday and picked this place for my birthday dinner. This was not worth my time, my guests’ time and wasn’t worth the money they spent on basically small plates and sides that took TOO long to come out. I understand it’s Saturday and it’s busy, but we all ordered sides. I ordered a salad so how on earth does it take 40 min AFTER ordering drinks to make a salad. A salad that was just as disappointing as the wait time. All my guests were also disappointed for what they ordered. The sweet onion soup was too sweet, the mac and cheese looked like it came from a box or rather I’d pay for a box Mac and cheese than this stuff, the flatbread was supposed to come with pepperoni but it did not, the parmesian fries were smothered in cheese, the pork belly was also smothered in cheese and not cooked correctly. The main point is, I traveled here to expect good food based on reviews and came out having to eat more somewhere else. However the service for reservation and waitress were great, just the wait time for appetizers were ridiculous. I would not come here again especially for the money I paid for.

We were a party of 12 and were seated right away, so off to a great start! Service was excellent and attentive. And the food was even better! I had a rosemary lamb sandwich with a Parmesan grits cake… best meal on the table ;). With everything being locally sourced, it was all so fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend a visit while in the area.

We stumbled upon this place from looking at reviews. It took a minute to seat us due to the lunch crowd BUT… Oh so glad we did. Great farm to table local eats. Creative chef menu of some classic eats. I ordered the Croque Madame. Springer Farm grilled chicken breast and crispy bacon on sour dough bread! But the kicker is the topper of pepper gravy and melted cheese… So warm and bubbly!!! Mmmmmm. I could crawl in a warm bed and sleep!!! I can’t leave out the side of Parmesan grit cake I had. It was almost just as good. Sorry grit cake. You got a close second place! Maybe next time.

We wanted to like this place, but it didn’t happen. The restaurant is located at the end of a strip of stores. Parking is tricky as it’s street parking and it’s street parking is limited as well. The décor of the restaurant is nice and cozy. It reminds me of a cabin. The kitchen is open so we can see the chefs cooking back there. What we ordered: FOOD: — Wood Grilled Brasstown Sirloin Tip Steak & Bearnaise($ 30): the only good dish out of the entire table. The steak was good very well with pink center and was juicy. The duck fat-rosemary fingerling potatoes were also good. The asparagus could have been less blackened. My boyfriend was happy with this dish. We didn’t care about the bearnaise sauce and were very glad that we asked for the sauce on the side. — Baby Arugula, Dried Wild Strawberries, Sliced Applies & Pistachio Crusted Goat Cheese with Pistachio-Green Apple Vinaigrette($ 8.50): nothing too impressive about the salad. The pistachio crusted goat cheese didn’t look too appealing so I didn’t eat that. I wasn’t impressed with the dried wild strawberries so I didn’t eat that. My salad came with two slices of buttered grilled french baguette. — Side of Smoked Mac & Cheese($ 4.50): This should have been called just macaroni noodles. I didn’t see cheese at all. This side has no flavor at all. I was the most disappointed in this dish. — FLPH Fried Pickles with Cucumber-Buttermilk Dip($ 7.50): I think the pickles were okay. — Parmesan-Truffle Fries($ 8): it’s funny how much Parmesan you see on the fries and there is cheese on the mac & cheese. The fries were seriously loaded and drenched with Parmesan and it was too overbearing. It’s like they didn’t know much to put on it. You can see in my photos how much they placed on the fries. My friend had to wipe off the Parmesan with each fry. DRINKS: — Moon Over Manhattan($ 11): my boyfriend enjoyed his drink. It was a strong drink. — My first drink I ordered had Jack Daniels Honey and they said they ran out of the JD Honey so I had to choose a second drink — Autumn Moon. — Autumn Moon($ 11): I took one sip and had to return this drink. It tasked like just Lime Juice. It was unbearable. Service was slow. Very slow. How is it that we all ordered apps/small dishes and we all got them over an hour later? The ones that ordered soup came within 30 minutes though. We literally saw the entire restaurant clear out as we were still waiting there for our food to arrive. Overall, I don’t see myself or anyone else in the party returning to dine here. We all were disappointed with the entire experience.

We’ve eaten out for Thanksgiving and Christmas numerous times. This was the first time I have enjoyed the entire meal. They have excellent staff that know the menu. It was thanksgiving so I had the turkey potein. After going to Canada our family has fallen in love with potein. This was served in a cast iron skillet and had just enough gravy in proportion to the curds and turkey breast. My husband had a dark meat smoked turkey with collards, sweet potatoes, dressing and cranberry sauce. Tge dark meat was amazing. For dessert I had the Kentucky Oatmeal Spice Cake. My husband had the pecan pie. We were not disappointed. Even the salads and onion bisque were tasty. I didn’t regret the money spent.

What a great lunch spot! Im sure dinner is just as good if not better. The unique and excellently crafted dishes are really a treat. The only problem with this place is having to pick from the many selections of intriguing options Definetly coming back for dinner

The service and food are exceptional at Frogs Leap! I’m told the menu changes frequently, but I had the lamb sandwich for lunch. It was one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. The lamb was tender and the combination of greens and dressing on the sourdough bread was superb. It came with a side. I chose fries. They were also good. I had the fruit crumble for dessert; served with vanilla ice cream, the huge blackberries and peaches had just the right amount of sweetness, never cloying. I drank coffee which was also excellent. Our server, Anna, was friendly and enthusiastic about the food. I highly recommend it. The atmosphere is pub dark. Parking is available across the street. I was told that it was important to make a reservation for dinner, but there seemed to be tables available for lunch the day I was there.

Just had the most amazingly fresh and delicious dinner ever! The dried strawberry apple salad was a special of the day, not on the menu but boy are we glad we split it along with the Parmesan French fries and the chili lime popcorn shrimp! We could have stopped there with the apps, dirty martini, and glass of sparkling wine, but we are brave like that… there was more! The sunburst trout dinner with spaghetti squash for my hubby and the meatloaf with Mac and cheese and greens for me! But wait… there’s more. We washed that down with a bottle of Harlow Ridge Pinot Noir… mmm delicious! Did you think I was finished? Sorry… sweets anyone? Local peaches and berries crumble is coming, and I’m done! Will we be back? You bet your bottom dollar, and soon!

Simply incredible! Frog’s Leap takes Farm to Fork to another level. The waiters are highly trained and skilled; they feel more like tour guides and concierges, who guide you and truly pamper you through a «food experience». The dining room has a warm, hospitable feel to it. Fancy and upscale, while simultaneously being unpretentious. I even fell in love with the Men’s Room; a modern, manly barn vibe, loaded with subtle details. The hostess is in a class by herself. She was very engaging and made sure everyone was well cared for. Even her interactions with my children were genuinely warm and caring. You can tell she likes her job and she’s good at it. She even gave my kids cute nicknames and remembered them when we came back later for dinner(after having lunch there). The menus are presented on clipboards and an enormous chalkboard lists the farms that produce their ingredients and what they currently have in season. The menus, both lunch and dinner, are a Who’s Who of things you want to eat. The highlights of the Appetizer and Small Plate section for me were the Fried Okra with Goat Cheese dip and the Littleneck Clams with Chorizo. At lunch we shared an impeccable Barbeque Pork sandwich and a New England Shrimp roll, with side of spicy collards and fresh feta, cucumber salad. Even the kids sliders were high grade. At dinner, our group shared the Crab Cake crusted Halibut, the BBQ of the day(St. Louis Style ribs), Smoked Chicken, Andouille and Shrimp Pasta, and my favorite, the Smoked Heritage Farms Pork Chop with bacon smoked gouda grits. The portions were plentiful, the flavors amazing and the presentations beautiful. They really have a creative and gifted kitchen and Chef de Cuisine! By the way, as you can guess, we liked our lunch so much that we came back for dinner and brought our friends! Really impressive food and staff! Bravo! Brava! Well done!

My family and I stopped in at Frogs Leap Public house last week during our stay in Maggie Valley. Frogs Leap was recommended to us by some Waynesville locals while we were shopping on main street. Frogs Leap Public house is a culinary bright spot in this part of town, it was fantastic and would compete with any gastro pub in Atlanta! The squash bisque soup was amazing! The service was fantastic. I got the pulled pork bbq sandwich and it was off the chain! I mean seriously it was fantastic! My aunt got the stackhouse salad and said it was fantastic, and my mother got the catfish tacos and raved and raved about them! Beer selection was fantastic as well! Everyone was raving about their food. The ambiance is also really cool, as this place is located just off the main street in a historic brick building that has been completely redone on the inside and it’s so rustic and comfortable and beautiful! Also, if you liked anything you ate and want to take some home, below Frogs Leap Public house is their market where you can pick up some of their salad fixins, and dressings and sauces and fresh meat! What a great find in Waynesville! I will definitely return!

We ordered 2 different entrées, & both were meager, BoRiNg & high-priced. We are giving the place 2 stars only because the waiter was eXeLLeNt & we the«devils-on-horseback» appetizer! Fortunately, we ate @ Bogart’s the night before & were able to go home and eat the tasty leftovers from their generously portioned rib-eye special @ almost half the price!

Definitely all about local food. Had the Pistachio crusted goat cheese Bön Bons served on local honey with thyme and sliced Granny Smith apples — divine! Catfish tacos, fried green tomato and pimento cheese with a red pepper sauce sandwich were our lunch choices. Both delicious! Rachel, our server, was friendly and patient since we tend to take our time deciding what we want to try! Too stuffed for dessert. Will save room next time for sure!

Holy b’Jeezus, this place was absolutely delicious! We came here as a group for my mom’s birthday and ordered a ton of food. The first thing that I noticed was the big board saying what farms the various food products come from — that was a nice touch. The second thing I noticed was how fun and engaging our waitress was — I don’t know her name but she was great and we all really liked her. They also had a decent wine list and some good beers on tap. On to the food! First, the table split fried pickles, pigs ears, hushpuppies and goat cheese/pistachio bon-bons. OMG the bon-bons were so amazing and came on a plate of honey sauce and apple slices. Everyone raved about that. My next favorite was the hushpuppies, although most of the table was really into the fried pickles. Pigs ears sadly don’t look like pigs ears and more like fried clams. I had been hoping to eat somthing that looked like an actual ear! But all the appetizers were amazing. Parents got the trout dish as a main course and loved it, brother also loved his shrimp and grits. Husband and I decided to get several small plates instead of one main course. We split the creamy, savory tomato bisque and the ahi tuna/avocado tataki, which had a nice heat to it. I got some special goat cheese with pickled«ranks» and toasted bread — incredible! And lastly, we got the flatbread with lamb meatballs, bacon and cremini mushrooms. I was very surprised at how LARGE this dish was for the price. A very good deal! I thought the flatbread was delicious, although rich. It was great to eat at night, yet harder to get down the rich leftovers for breakfast the next day. Oh! We also got the complimentary corn bread that came with«Amish butter.» Amish butter is an interesting orange color, but very tasty. The bread was great. Between all that and the red wine, we stuffed our faces. I am trying to think of a complaint that anyone had about their food and can’t think of one. Mom was raving that it was a perfect meal for her birthday so we were happy. I highly recommend this for a special occasion! The food was fantastic.

I travel throughout the mountains whenever I get a chance and Waynesville is a cute little town that provides some good restaurants to choose from when one is looking for good food and nice atmosphere. The establishment can really be divided up into 2 spaces. The bar to the right and the eating area to the left. The bar is small and cozy and I continue to enjoy the bar staff — very engaging and can whip up a drink like a champ! The restaurant is an open space that is nicely decorated. The menu has a great selection across the board from small plates to vegan options to even… a little seafood. Again the staff on this side do a bang up job taking care of the patrons. I’ve eaten here no less than 5 times in the last year… LOVEIT! And hopefully you will too!!!

Alright, so my friends found this list, right? It’s supposedly a list of the best restaurant in each of NC’s 100 counties. I’m already on a quest to visit all the counties, so this list is pretty much the Bible for me. Anyway, we were going to go to a place in Candler for dinner tonight, but why would a place be open on Saturdays? So they were closed, so we kept driving west. I had my wife consult the list, and it took us to this neat little place in Waynesville. Oh my God, y’all. The bar is pretty standard fare. It could hang with any of the nice places in Asheville. But this food… it was amazing. Two of the most friendly and knowledgeable servers I’ve ever encountered(one was training, and still easily among the best you’ll find) were able to describe every last dish on the menu. So we started with some fried cheese curds, battered in Hi-Wire Lager, and those were every bit as good as you think they would be. My wife ordered some fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese. I’m told that the tomatoes were adequate, and the pimento was outstanding. I concur. I tried them. I ordered the trout(local, of course) with sweet potato hash and some green beans. Absolutely outstanding. The crust on the trout was sweet, the potato hash had just a bit of honey to make it great, and the sauce that came with it was fantastic. I desperately wanted dessert, but I had nowhere to put it. I have to go back.
