Ahh, I love Allegria! Suzanne is an amazing host and has created a wonderful place for people to gather for cocktails and socializing. The first time I met the owner(Suzanne), she told us «welcome home». She is a fun, free, spirited personality and makes the customer experience one you can’t forget! My favorite cocktail is her signature martini; «Allegria 365». Oh, and don’t forget to order a cheese plate which pairs well with a good glass of wine, or in my case the Allegria 365 martini! Friday’s are sort of a bring your own meat night. The staff will grill it for you and serve you sides and a salad. While your waiting on your food, you can get cozy with a throw, pillow and find a nice quiet place to relax. GO there!

After I moved down to the Clear Lake area I realized I needed a place to get away from it all and have a fantastic choc martini which is my favorite, I was looking for somewhere to go the night before Valentine’s Day this year and lucky for me I had Urban Spoon handy, I shook that baby and low and behold Allegria popped up for wine bars. I called and asked if they only had wine and lucky for me the most awesomely kind voice popped up on the other end named Chelsea and said no we also have martinis, and I was specifically asking for chocolate when she told me, «If I came in she would be sure I would have the best choc martini I have ever had!»,(I had previously called Chelsea wine bar which I heard was a great place but they didn’t have the martinis I was looking for and were a little snooty when I called.) Chelsea was right! This place was tucked away in a multi cultural shopping center and was a diamond in the rough. She made myself, my husband and my best friend all have the BEST night and made us her famous Run-Choc-o lata which is so fantastic I can’t even describe it you would have to go for yourself, as well as her amaxing choc martini and she even has a chocolate covered strawberry martini that is so delicious it’s better than s*x and dessert!!! Ladies if you want somewhere to go where you can relax with a date or relax with some girlfriends, this is the place! Great ambiance, not crowded and fantastic staff with amazing daily menu items as well. Great place for wine, dessert martinis and even a quick and easy beer with a snack. The bartender Chelsea really really makes this place fantastic!

They have a very cozy corner that my fiancé & I enjoy sitting in. There are throw pillows & even a little throw to cover up with because it can get chilly in there. They also have a full liquor bar for non-wine-drinkers. Friday nights they have the grill going outside for you to bring your own steak(or chicken or other meat). For $ 10, you can get the sides: a great spinach salad with strawberries & a crumbly cheese(possibly Gorgonzola) and rice pilaf with grilled veggies. They were very tasty! We didn’t bring a steak(forgot all about it until we arrived) and I just ordered a side plate. Will be back many times!

Great little wine bar tucked away in an obscure strip center off of Hwy 3. My friend and I were at the stop light right before the strip center and spotted Allegria. Feeling adventurous, we decided to nix our coffee plans and try it out. We felt a little awkward walking in because it was mostly empty, except for the owner and one other customer, but then my friend pointed out that we were at a bar and it was only 8pm. Right. I’m not much of a wine drinker, but my friend(who is) was pleasantly surprised at the selection. She ordered the Malbec, which was out, but the owner(Suzanne?) was extremely helpful in suggesting another wine(the name escapes me now) that my friend found to be equally satisfying. I got the Moscato and we both split the smoked salmon pâté appetizer. The Moscato was fantastic and the smoked salmon pâté was delicious, but it was more of a salmon-cream cheese spread than a true pâté. The best part, however, was the cozy and laid back atmosphere. Soft music played in the background as my girlfriend and I gabbed and laughed to our heart’s content, completely undisturbed in a corner, save for a few times when the owner would pop by to see if we needed anything. I loved that the owner also bought her dog that night, an adorably sweet golden retriever also named Allegria. Is the most sophisticated wine bar I’ve ever been to? Definitely not. But it does have charm– the people are friendly and the wine is good; I’ll definitely be back. A solid 4 stars.

Went by last night to check it out… CLOSED. No signs indicating why or when they would reopen. I will try again as I have a $ 25 gift certificate from to use for some(hopefully yummy) appetizers. …But I will call first to confirm their hours.

Allegria is a spacious, dark, quiet wine bar with rich furnishings and lots of comfortable seating. They had a decent selection of wines, and a knowledgeable staff. It is hidden away in an eclectic strip mall at the corner of Berringer and Hwy 3. Heavy gold curtains cover the windows and hide the inside. The interior is painted a dark Indian red with darker accents. There are a handful of large tables, a few dueces, a bar, and many deep plush chairs arranged around low tables. When we arrived at 9 on a Saturday night, there was a man grilling steaks on a gas grill outside the front door. Turned out tonight was ‘Grill your own meat night.’ People brought their own steaks to grill; Allegro cooked the meat and supplied the side dishes for $ 8. But we’d already eaten, and just had wine. My wife had an Australian Terra Shiraz, $ 10 which had a nice tartness but we both commented that it could have stood a little more body, a little bolder flavor; it seemed slightly thin. I had a Teltec Malbac, $ 9. We both like it better; the flavor was stronger, smoother, more complex. Suzanne, the owner, scampers about in a brief outfit on top of very high heels, greeting everyone and keeping the staff in line. At other tables patrons were enjoying some very large $ 10 martinis. Candlelight looks good through a full martini glass. We left our emails to follow their calendar events; their website is static and doesn’t give the calendar. We’ll be back
