Left Scarsdale Grocery and headed over here. The owners of the store weren’t so welcoming when my sister and I entered. The owners spoke to the natives who entered, but right after we entered complete silence. Nothing, but stares. We continued to walk around the store. As we got near the natives in the store they scattered, hurring away from us. We asked the male owner about the sweet snack. He acted so impolite and treated my sister like she was uncapable of shopping. Even the female owner/cashier who I thought might shine a little light on the situation by cracking a smile. No not all, she instead spoke to her husband in their native tongue ignoring our question. If ya gonna own a business learn how to treat everyone in the store equally. Just a suggestion.

What is it with foreign food owners that notice non-natives visiting their store; why do they act so surprised or seem so afraid?! They stare at you like a deer in headlights; mouth wide open, eyes bucked out of the socket, looking more uncomfortable than a baby tasting a lemon for the first time. Thank goodness there were natives in the store, not that it helped ease me. Though, they left quick and scurried across the store without even having contact with us. The male owner was helpful, but acted as if I was a lot younger than my age and treated me like I was ignorant. I couldn’t find the sweet Indian snack, but I did find something a lot better. Lots of Indian snacks, sweets, ingredients, frozen foods, teas, and even fresh produce. The prices seemed pricey, not so much reasonable. No expired goods. I can’t say I’ll be back to this store as Hwy 3 is known for having lots of Indian grocery.

Don’t be fooled… They carry NO Asian products. All their products are imports from India.

Lot of things in there that you feel the place is over crowded with things. They’re also bit costly compared to other Asian stores. The owner is a self praising person who sometimes sings with karaōke on a Mike yes, I’m serious !! Vegetables are way too costly here. Overall not a great place.

Not a lot to say about this place. The staff here recognizes me as a repeat customer, and always are very friendly and helpful. I come here to get those 2 $ microwaveable meals that are packaged similarly to what soldiers get in MREs. I purchase a bunch and eat them for lunch at work. They also offer fresh jalebi and samosas. The samosas are so good. I always come here when I want indian-pakistani based food or desserts.

Clever little grocery that Really Wants To Sell Tea To You! and hey! they have Haggis. Small grocery, well lit, well organized, all kinds of stuff, slightly crowded but not claustrophobic. I’d just had lunch close by and I came in to browse. Owner came right up behind me, «Can I help you with anything?» I said I was just looking around. We were standing by the tea section; he wanted to show me his tea. He decided that I looked like a tea buyer, and he showed me his huge selection of tea. Then he decided that I looked like a likely customer for Masala tea — he started telling me about the differences and the strengths of the six different kinds of Masala tea that he stocks. Finally I kind of waved him off. We’re WAY overstocked on tea at home right now. Next he showed me his Haggis. He has a freezer full of British foods, pasties and bangers and such. I examined a chub of Haggis, made with real lamb’s liver and oatmeal. But none of the traditional sheep’s lung; FDA won’t let it into the country, so this haggis is made in Florida. Still it it has the Union Jack emblazoned on it. I got none today, but the next time I need haggis quick, this is where I am coming. Produce was very limited, but they have some things you won’t find in a Kroger: I’ve never seen raw tumeric before(it’s a root, like ginger) but they had white tumeric root AND gold tumeric root. I picked up a huge bunch of dill for $ 1.09.
