Dempsey’s

Used to really like this place. Mainly for their crawfish. Now they don’t even have a cook anymore… This place went down hill quick sadly. Last time I was in there, they did not have ANY beers on draft! How does a bar not have any draft beers and still claim to be a bar. They say they are in ownership change, well they need to hurry it along. Sadly, that was my last attempt at that place.

Read on Facebook that they were open today, all day, crawfish all day $ 3 a lb. So called some friends and met them there at 2:30 only to find they where closed. Now it’s confirmed I will never be back to that rat-​infested smoke-​filled dump ever again! Dumpsey’s sucks!

We went on a couples outing with another couple and it was crazy! 3 people in the group, including myself, love Crown Royal. The first drink was pretty good but when we received our 2^nd drinks and took a sip, we all looked up and couldn’t believe it. It was NOT Crown Royal. It tasted like some cheap copycat. We thought maybe the waitress misunderstood the order and she clarified it and said it was fine. She went back to the bar to verify and came back and said she tasted it herself and it was fine. We kept them thinking we ALL were crazy and ordered a 3^rd round and it was the same fake taste. While waiting on the 2^nd drink, our food came and SOME of it were as if I had bought it at Kroger’s and and cooked it myself… okay cool but when she asked how we liked it, she was insulted by the truth of ALL of us saying it was OKAY. She got an attitude and said that’s funny because we have people all over Houston rating our food highly. OKAY, but people who live right here DON’T care for it. Well after that is when the 2^nd round came and we had our experience. She had a short attitude after the food, she barely came to the table after that and even looked away when trying to get her attention. I can’t mix drinks because it makes me sick. Well 3 f the 4 of us were sick, vomiting, afterwards and sick the next day. Not worth a bill of 300+ dollars. Yeah, 300+ so they claimed.

This is a small bar with a nice, friendly crowd full of locals. We visited Dempsey’s back during crawfish season on a Sunday evening. It wasn’t much going on other than a basketball game but it was pretty full. The drinks were decent but the crawfish were extra salty. We couldn’t finish them. Don’t add the extra seasoning that comes with it unless you prefer to have edema. Beware!

I can always find the budget beers I enjoy like, PBR and Lone Star at Dempsey’s, when I not drinking craft beer. I prefer going early afternoon, because it not too busy. The atmosphere is good, the bartenders are very friendly. The food is not too shabby, burgers are very good. Overall… it’s a heck of a nice bar.

This place has changed alot, but for the better. You wait a good minute for the food but damn it’s good. The people that work there are nice too, and the door guy was cool. Wasn’t deliberately a jerk like alot of the other places in the area. They were even cool about calling me a cab at the end of the night.

I used to like this place before they moved to this location. It just seemed smaller and more friendly. The waitresses are never very friendly. In fact, I never had one come help us. We had to order from bar every time.
The music is entirely too loud and when you try to have a nice time listening to live music the people who work there complain about the band and are very rude about it. Not professional at all.
I don’t think I will give this place a try again.

Went to Dempsey’s on Monday for their all you can eat crawfish, I know it’s the end of the season for crawfish but that does not constitute for them to taste rotten, over cooked, and some taste like they were frozen and boiled because very tough. I liked the crawfish at the beginning of the season there, don’t know if they changed cooks or what but it was gawd awful, and they will kill you with the salt, taste like they boiled them in a butt load of salt. I’ve been going here for 2 years now and this is the worst I have ever had from there, there need to be some consistency with the crawfish.

Nice little dive bar. Prices were fair though the selection was slim. We were helped as soon as we walked in and the service was incredible. Very diverse clientele of all age ranges.

No greet from the two female bartenders for alomost 10 min when the bar wasn’t even full. Finally little Humberto helped us out and took our drink order, he was nice.

Small, local bar with live music. Smoking is allowed and the band was loud enough to make conversations pointless. Not my type of place, but they seem to achieve what they are trying to and parking is ample. The place was fairly busy with suburbanites in their 20s when I went

It’s a bar that allow smoking so if you don’t like smoke this is not the place for you. If you are a cigarette or cigar smoker this is the place for you. Yes, It’s loud but what do you expect!!! You are at a bar. that has a juke box, karoke or a band. Also, I must say the customers are always friendly I always meet nice new people.
I will give credit where it’s due and I must say some staff has gotten a little better but, it’s hit or miss. The bartenders needs a dress code and trained to put a smile on their face. They are not rude but, not the friendliest.
It’s laid back so come as you are no need to get dressed up…
They have a food menu & Burgers are pretty good. Daily happy hour specials just to name a few Mon 25 cent wings from 7−11pm. Tues $ 2 you call it from 9−11pm & $ 1 jello shots. For more daily specials go to

Laid back bar with great service. I don’t recommend the salt with crawfish flavoring.
The crawfish were previously cooked, re-​heated and about a can of Morton’s salt dumped on them. Half the little double cook guys came apart when trying to eat them.
Good music and ice cold beer though.

My husband and I came here once, and that was enough for me. He liked the old location, and we thought this would be the same.
Wrong.
First, good luck getting a waitress or bartenders attention. Even though this place is the size of a living room.
It’s crowded, very loud (too small for live music. Sorry). And it was full of obnoxious people screaming on top of their lungs and using a whole PITCHER as a drinking CUP. Yep.
Every time we want to go drink, we skip this place. It’s just not worth it, there are many other bars in the area that have their stuff together.

I don’t think this place likes to have a nice crowd. I have been going here since I relocated here in April 2013. The happy hour is almost noxexistent now. During crawfish season they would have the AYCE. price started out at $ 19.99 then $ 23.99 now $ 29.99! On top of that the gratuity is included… welp you cheated yourself on that cuz I am a great tipper! But don’t obligate me to pay for crappy service for a table of two. The crowd has significantly thinned out since the price went up to $ 29.99 I would venture to bet that they are losing money… I’m pretty much done with this place.

If you’re trying to catch up with friends avoid this place. Every time I go we have to yell to be heard. Good live music but the place is almost too small to accommodate a band and it’s crowd. It’s loud even when there isn’t a band playing.
Not very good drink specials either, or else I don’t know when they are. You can smoke inside which for me is a negative since smoke aggravates my sinuses.

This bar has horrible customer service. The first time we went in there, it seemed like a really cool place, not too big or crowded. The second time we went back. We sat down at a table, waited for about 10 minutes and finally flagged a gal down. Before I could get a word out of my mouth, she turns to us and says ‘I’m a bartender, not a waitress.’ I looked at my husband in disbelief and we both got up and left.
About a month later we decided to try it one more time, since it is only a mile from our house. Went in, sat down, and once again waited for about 15 minutes. That’s when we left and said we will never go back.
This bar need some serious help in all areas. I would NOT recommend anyone to go here.
