So pleasantly surprised by the quality of this restaurant! My hubby and I got out for a lunch without the kiddos and decided to try Pub 235. The menu is fantastic, classy, with variety, and offering more than standard pub fare. For an appetizer, we split the hummus plate. Aside from having a lovely presentation, the hummus was served with a scoop of olive tapenade(our choice and highly recommended), warm pita bread and a small assortment of veggies for dipping. The olive tapenade really added some salty, briny depth to the hummus. For our entrees, my husband chose a chipotle chicken panini with a side of waffle fries. There were a variety of side options, including side salads and fresh veggies. The waffle fries were perfect though: crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and perfectly seasoned. My hubby thought the panino was delicious, noting the crunchy(not oily) texture of the bread and the fresh ingredients. My order of the Harvest Salad(with chicken added) was also pleasantly fresh and filling. The salad was a perfect balance of fresh greens, crisp apple, chewy dried cranberries, and crunchy candied walnuts topped with tangy crumbled blue cheese, grilled chicken breast, and a balsamic vinaigrette to give just the read amount of sweet acidity. Pub 235 had a clean, classy, yet casual ambiance that is perfect for lunch or dinner. We did not go into the bar area, but it had a similar look and feel to it. The staff and servers were attentive, polite, and very pleasant. Our server was outstanding in dealing with a neighboring table that was making some trouble with their order. Of note, the prices were a little higher than other casual sit-down restaurants. However, the quality of our meals and service made the price worth it. If all continues as I’d, I fully expect Pub 235 to be a huge success!

Great friendly atmosphere. The staff was super friendly and very attentive. The food was also great looking and more importantly tasting. This place will definitely be a new regular spot for us.

Great food, reasonably priced. Service is great for the most part, we’ve had one waitress that is extremely slow, which doesn’t work when you’re in your lunch hour.

Pub 235 was on our radar to try but being in the opposite direction we usually head for dinner out meant we had to plan our visit. We dined here early on Saturday night given the reviews mentioned long waits on weekend nights. We were able to snag a two-top, the last open table in the dining room(though there were open high tops in the bar which would have also worked). As soon as we were seated we were swarmed by staff… first a carafe of water and then some rolls with a garlic butter — nice touches. The flat-ish shaped rolls were quite tasty. Our server quickly appeared and we ordered two burgers — the AM(with an egg topper) and the one with bbq sauce and onion rings on it, whose name I have forgotten. Both were very good, med rare, with a bold beefy flavor. In this day of $ 16-$ 20 gourmet burgers it was nice to get such a good product for $ 11. The waffle fries and mac & cheese sides were both solid. Our server was the most attentive server I have ever seen, perhaps some would say it was over the top but not us. It seems like many places have cut staff but this place had the most serving staff we had seen in years which made for good service(and probably helps them turn tables fast though we never felt rushed). When back up this way we will stop again…

Nothing great. Still a little busy for me. I eat out for good value. This place is a bit slow and food is average at best. Too many tables so I felt on top of people. Menu was boring and I eat too healthy for this place. So price is fair, food is fair and service is good just to packed so really I would give this place 2 ¾ stars.

I ordered the gluten-free version of the Haddock French, served over sauteed zucchini, asparagus, and red peppers. It was absolutely delicious! Hot, buttery, yummy. The service was great, very friendly and attentive, and I thought the price was reasonable. I’ll definitely go again.

Got a table here on a Saturday night in the bar area around 8pm. The place was hoppin. Good variety to the menu and first thing I noticed was how cheap everything was. It’s nice not having to pay for ambiance like most other newer spots that’d be similar to this. Also, props for having a solid IPA in the beer list(hop hunter.) Back to prices though… the sandwich section has stuff between $ 9 and $ 12 or so. Some of which I saw come out looking huge. I got the pastrami sandwich($ 11). The food was good and worth coming back for.

First time checking this place out was only a few weeks after they opened back in September/October… Ordered the French onion soup cause it’s my absolute favorite and it was one of the bests I’ve ever had! I also ordered the steak & Gorgonzola sandwich and wasn’t impressed… My boyfriend and I went back for our second visit yesterday and I had to order the French onion soup again just cause it was so good the first time and it did not disappoint! My boyfriend ordered the hanks roast beef sandwich which was delicious! The waitress said it was one of their best sellers so we decided to try it out and he was very happy he did! The onion rings are also very very good, perfect crisp to them and it’s a good size onion ring… But they are $ 3 extra so make sure you read the menu closely cause we didn’t happen to see the small fine print! We love the ambiance of this cute little gem in the heart of Webster village and will definitely be coming back more often to try some more items off the menu!

Fantastic options on the pizzas. We had a big group and ordered five different pizzas to go and everyone loved them all. Can’t wait to go back.

Not great. Wait here was over an hour long, and the Unilocal reviews were good, but, I took one for the team in the you know where on this one. Ordered the roasted turkey sandwich. The sandwich was overloaded with turkey, and so much so that you couldn’t taste anything else. When I got done with my sandwich, I had finally tasted the mayo. Homemade chips were cold on arrival with no taste or flavor. Service was good with a fresh salad so, hence… the 2 stars.

We ordered our burgers for take out because #1 we were in the middle of a Making the Murderer Netflix marathon at home and #2 the wait to get a table was horrendous on a saturday night. So we ordered and took our burgers home. I take into consideration driving home so the food may not have been perfect but it was really good. I had the Pub 235 classic and my husband had the Smokehouse. Both were really good. Huge burger. I devoured mine but I do love me a good cheeseburger. The fries were also pretty good although soggy(remember, we drove home so I won’t hold that against them this time). We would definitely try it again when we have more time to actually sit in the restaurant and enjoy ourselves. That night we were all about Steve Avery! Glad to see a nice place pop up after Hank’s left.

My wife and I really, really, REALLY wanted to like this restaurant. We live in Webster right down the road in 250. We have been hoping for more non-chain restaurants to open in Webster around the Village. Tonight was out third time dinning at Pub235. Our first visit was about a week after the restaurant opened. We really enjoyed it and said we would be back. So the second time the experience was not as good as the first so we both chalked it up to ordering the wrong things. It has been a couple months since that second visit and we decided to try it again. My wife got a basic BYOP(build your own pizza with mushrooms) and I got the Cuban. We were both disappointed. I don’t really want to get into what was wrong cause I really don’t think anything was wrong in the traditional sense of typical restaurant problems. The food just isn’t for us. But in a nutshell everything tastes extremely salty. We really wanted this place to be a regular stop for our family because it is reasonably priced and service is good but if you don’t like the food and after three different tries to like the food with the result being the same 2⁄3 times it is time to move on. Sorry Pub235. I wish you best of luck and much success.

I really, really, REALLy wanted to love this place. It’s just around the corner, a locally owned family business, and more upscale than many places around. Unfortunately, I just can’t say it worked. We arrived in time to grab the last open table, which was great. Seated in the bar area, the décor was really nice. Love the ambience, colors, etc. The acoustics were so bad, that we couldn’t even hear each other at the table. Made it just unpleasant. First thing we ordered were the mac & cheese balls. The balls were fried perfectly. And they were delicious themselves, however the sauce was a different cheese that just didn’t go with it. Two totally separate flavors that did not compliment each other well. Overall rating — D– Second app we tried were the bavarian pretzels. I love hot pretzels, and order them everywhere we go. The comparison is against Genesee Brewhouse and Trata. The pretzels themselves were good — but looked like hotdogs on the plate. To my disappointment, the sauce was the same sauce as from under the mac & cheese balls — bleh! No mustard flavor obvious enough to go right. The sprinkling of parmesan on the pretzels helped, but the overall effect was sort of bland. Overall rating — C By this time we were hollering at each other trying to have a conversation. Dinners fared a little better. We had arrived anxious to try the crab cakes, but they were out of them — at 6pm. Either popular or ill-planned. Fish fry — was good, and fries were great. Had asked for a side of coleslaw also — never got it, despite asking a second time. Overall rating — B Wedge Salad — delicious, great serving size, fresh — wonderful! Got it with the balsamic vinaigrette instead of creamy blue, but kept the crumbly blue. Overall rating — A+ Pastrami Salad — this was a big disappointment from how it was prepared to the lack of mustard again. Overall rating — D House Salad — this was a good, very fresh salad. But hey, a salad is a salad. Overall rating — A By then, we decided to go to our house for after dinner drinks, coffee and dessert because it was so loud it was not possible to talk to each other there. As much as we had hoped to find a local place to frequent, we’ll have to keep searching.

Excellent… pizza was delicious, salad was delicious. We will definitely come back for more. So nice to have a nice restaurant here in Webster that’s NOT a chain restaurant.

After maybe a 25 minute wait for a table of 6 unreserved we sat down for a nice lunch/management meeting to treat ourselves and celebrate my birthday. The service was excellent and attentive. The food was hot, fresh and delicious! Large portions and reasonably priced! The Mac and cheese tasted like old fashioned mom and pop food. Best part about the lunch? The sweet potato fries are hands down the best I’ve had in Rochester! Crisp, perfectly seasoned, hot and plentiful. I’ll be back!

First visit after hearing good things. Had the NY strip and a pizza. Also had a salad and home made soup. All were very good. The prices were very reasonable. Will be back. Very impressed that the chef(owner?) made a point of visiting almost every table.

I’m staying in Webster for work and the hotel recommended this restaurant for dinner. I’m so glad they did. I ordered the turkey club and waffle fries and was very impressed with the food, price and service. I ate half of my sandwich because it was huge and my bill was less than $ 10. Not to mention it arrived at my table in about 7 minutes. You can’t ask for better than that!

Great first experience at this pub! Let me start by saying the service was exceptional. We sat at the bar and had no problems at all. The menu was diverse. At first my girlfriend and i thought too diverse to be fully ‘fresh’. We were wrong. Everything we tried was fresh and delicious! We will be returning to keep working through everything else we wanted to try! What keeps this from being a 5? The acoustics are horrible. With a full bar of people talking, you can’t hear yourself saying anything. For a local pub, their draft beer selection is incredibly corporate. Its piss water or all hops. Reach out to Rorhbachs! I am also thinking that their regular pull is not a full pint… but I’m not dragging a pint glass in to test… cmon guys… The classic pint glass is accepted everywhere… No need to change it up to look more progressive. Bathroom facilities are truly lacking. This is a pub. Having a one toilet/locking door men’s room for the entire bar is just bad. Really bad. I had to wait 10 minutes for an employee to finish their business. Wasted revenue in both ends of that transaction. The menu alone… and 1 draft choice… and perfect service will bring me back over and over. Just not a FULL5 just yet.
