Majestic Regency Motel

If I could give this place lower than one star, I would. The front desk clerk was incredibly rude. We reserved ahead and requested handicap rooms on the ground floor. The owner was at the desk when we got there and said his computer was down and it should not be a problem. Check in time was 2. We sat out at the pool area while we waited. The rest room at the pool area was filthy and disgusting. When we got back to the desk, a different person was there. He said there were no handicap rooms on the first floor, and we said we were leaving. He said he was going to charge us for one night any way. The old man, who was at the desk came back. He is the new owner. In the meantime another couple came in claiming their room smelled so bad it was making them sick.
The clerk was rude to them as well. I told them they could have our room because we were leaving. We are still trying to get our money back from the people we booked it from. Don’t believe anything they say about new owners, same old starus quo.

Don’t let the name fool you, this place is not fit for a king. It is, however, an affordable and no frills place to crash for a long weekend at the beach.
The rooms are dated with older furniture, but clean. I found my mattress very uncomfortable. I must note, however, some friends traveling with me disagreed and said their mattress was decent. Perhaps I am a mattress snob, but I sure was happy to return home to my pillow top. The rooms have been upgraded with flat screen TVs. I was a bit jealous as the motel TV had a much larger screen than mine at home. The room contained many of the other typical motel amenities — small fridge, coffee maker, and a bible in the drawer.
I was very impressed with the grounds at the Majestic. It is a large complex with several buildings arranged around a circular driveway offering plenty of guest parking. The swimming pool is beautiful and was very welcoming when we arrived on that particularly hot day. There are tennis courts for guests to use although we did not have time to play on our recent stay. There were a few gas grills located near a grassy area with picnic tables. My friends and I considered a trip to the store for steaks and corn, but with all the great seafood restaurants in the area we couldn’t resist going out for dinner. The grills are definitely a great option, however, especially for guests on an extended stay.
There is a trolley stop located just inside the motel parking lot which offers convenient transportation to the beach. Be sure to read my prior review of the Ogunquit Trolley which explains some helpful tips I learned while experiencing the trolley service on my weekend visit.

So far so good… Spencer at the front desk is a delight and the staff is friendly and the room is clean totally recommended.

First impressions are a terrible thing. The outside was ok but inside the rooms everything is extremely outdated. The lights, the fake marble bathroom, bed coverings, 18′ tube tv and old chipped faux wood furniture is straight out of the 70s. That aside, as long as your not intending to spend lots of time inside — the motel is otherwise nice. It in a phenomenal location, has running trolleys, lots of free outside games, complimentary breakfast.

Just got back from an overnight trip to the Majestic Regency. The place is very outdated. Small tube TV, outdated furniture and bedspreads, just very «old.» The air conditioner is in a very odd place and at eye level, so every time you walk by, you’re getting a sharp blast of cold air in the face. Not to mention, while I’m glad the room had been cleaned, we were hit in the face by a very strong smell of bleach. Like– offensively strong.
Now on the the positives. The location is great, beds were comfortable, good water pressure in the shower. The amenities were great. They have basketball, volleyball, shuffleboard, cornhole, and even a firepit. In addition there are trolleys that came through pretty frequently.
Overall, I think if you’re just going to sleep in the room, it’s great. If you’re going to spend any time in it, or want something that’s more modern, look elsewhere.

This is a great place to stay if you like quiet simple and convenient location for a great rate. Stayed three nights and enjoyed. Would stay there again for sure.

Do Not… I repeat… Do not stay here… First thing… when we walked in it smelled of mold and mildew… Horrible enough so when i came home I had to send my clothes to the cleaners to get rid of the smell… I repeat… it was horrible… Next…I asked the desk if we may please have another coffee filter… O yes… sure…Never brought it to usl… I called and they said they were out of them… Really? The next day the maid never cleaned the coffee pot. never replaced the cups… and never cleaned this stupid cheap table that the coffee pot was on… Very cheap fridge on a couple of two by fours… The airconditioner had no face on it… Everytime someone took a shower upstairs I heard dripping coming from who knows… the whole place stunk of mildew… if you are allegic to mildew you will get very sick in there. Also the neighbor next door smoked and it reaked when you walked outside… the breakfast wasn’t too bad… cereal and bagels… but all in all… I would never stay there again… the furniture it so outdated it all comes from the 50’s and the tv was really small… horrible…Believe me you get what you pay for there… Should have found something better but was unable to… a comfortable bed though… cheap fake flowers that need dusting and the light over the table was filthy…

I like this hotel. I’ve always stayed in clean, pet friendly rooms. Is it the most updated, ummm no, but you have everything you need. This time, I’m in room 62– which I think is haunted. A banana jumped off the table and made a ton of noise hitting the carpet and the room gets crazy cold in some spots. While I was in the shower, I was sure that the front door opened and people were walking around in the front room. Weird! #Haunted

We stayed only one night, and it was fine for that. The hotel does show its age, the staff seems to keep everything well maintained and it was very clean. The bed was OK, but not great. Also, it had an older CRT TV and not a flat screen. They had a large breakfast area and it was well stocked with cold items, nothing hot but the coffee. Since we did not stay very long, no rating on the pool and surrounding grounds. We paid about $ 77 for the weekend night in Oct. The area was packed, so the price seemed fair.

I stayed here for one night. It felt like one night too many. The room I was in was not cleaned when I walked in to it and had to flag down housekeeping to clean it. From there, once in it was rather run down. The beds were not comfortable. The shower was rediculous. No hairdryer, the tv was fuzzy, there were bugs in the room and it made for a TERRIBLE night. The breakfast was kind of a free for all, and nothing looked appetizing. I waited to eat, got ready and got out of there as fast as I could. DON’T STAY HERE. There are hotels where you will pay 20 $ more and have a much better experience that this!

This is a solid, clean, pet-​friendly place. It is an old-​fashioned motel style. They have a breakfast room and they bring in Congdon’s doughnuts every morning (get there early though). They have a heated pool, tennis courts, bbq grills. They just added a fire pit, which we loved. It is the end of the line for the Wells and Ogunquit Trolley, so they are always in the parking area but that adds to the fun. The price is very reasonable for the area.

We spent one night here on our way to our rental in Kennebunk because they looked ok and they were pet friendly.
This place is a blast to the past — it reminded me of spots I stayed as a kid in the seventies. The room was clean (no dead bodies!!) and the staff was very polite. It was close to a little seafood place and a liquor/​specialty food store and there were grills available if we wanted to cook and eat. If you expect more from a nook like Majestic I suggest you go else where. It’s a great place if you plan to spend your Maine vacation enjoying Maine and need a good place to crash at night.
They have a basic toast and cereal breakfast (good doughnuts — 2 per customer!) that is all you need if you plan to spend your day out and about.
People who slam this place should room elsewhere. Its fine. No frills.

First off, this is not a 5 star resort, so, it does not have a 5 star price. What you get is a basic clean room, bed, shower, basically a place to regroup and rest up while you are visiting the area. The staff was friendly, and professional. They did provide breakfast. The fresh donuts are great! Not your normal little store bought ones, but fresh local, actually really good donuts. You have serve yourself orange juice, milk, cereal and some of the worst coffee you can imagine. I would recommend running down to the coffee shop and get one first, then enjoy coffee and donuts together. During nice weather the property does have area’s to lay out and relax. We, unfortunately had rain pretty much the time we spent there. Nice central location, 20 miles north of Kittery, just a block off the coast.

The website is a overkill. It’s definitely not walking distance to Ogunquit Center. But we stayed here for a better price. The room was clean and comfortable. The only downside was that we had to drive into the center where everything is happening. If I can get a better deal on hotel, I’d rather stay close to the Ogunquit center, so that you don’t have to worry about finding parking and dealing with many tourists.
