I don’t know honestly why Cody’s has such bad reviews. I love their bread and salad. It’s ridiculously simple: just a salad from a bag with ranch with a few cut up cucumbers, but it’s good. I love their peanuts so well. Steak, fajitas are ok, not amazing, but good. You get what you pay for, it’s not an expensive place, so you get average quality steaks. They have a great special on Wednesdays with 2−4−1 fajitas. They are simple, but ok.

I have tried Cody’s four times. It is so close and such an interesting concept that I really want to like it. However, no matter how bad I want to like it, I just can’t. The food has never been good, the drinks are mediocre (at best), the service is almost average.
I’m glad so many other options are coming to the WC. I suggest you take advantage of the other options in town.

Service was excellent but the food was not. There was a weird smell when we walked in. The ribs were tender but the flavor wasn’t that great. The salad was blah and the tilapia was awful. 2 bites was 2 bites too many. Will not go back.

Have gone here before and the service has deteriorated with each visit. Went last Sunday and while the service was great at the end of our meal a live baby German cockroach decided to join us. Check please!

Let me start by saying this place is way better then the amount of stars it has. Was greeted with friendly attitudes and prompt seating. The manager was very nice and gave us a free appetizer on the house. We ordered the cheesy cheese shrimp it was awesome. I will always get that from now on. I ordered the T-​bone steak. Just the right amount of charbroiled crust. I like the juice from the onions and poured all over the steak. I totally liked it. Good job guys. Keep it up. We will be back.

What a disappointment, specials listed lamb and filet were ordered and we waited over 45 minutes for our food to be delivered. Steak was cold, lamb was tough grizzly. Our waiter Jack was very apologetic but the manager on duty Mandy was rude and dismissive of us. Going as far as to tell us that the dessert included in the Easter special was sold out yet would not substitute another dessert. In the end, we got a 25% discount on dinner with no desert and nothing but her rude treatment as our ending of our dining experience
By the way the specials were the regular menu price and the desert was limited to sliver of cheesecake that they were sold out of. The advertised specials were deceptive and really not special at all.

Meh. Staff was friendly. Steaks were not appealing to the eye and tough. Couldn’t even get my fork in it. Best part of the meal was the potato and IBC root beer. Won’t be back. Ever.

Valentine’s Day specials were great. Steak and lobster tail done to perfection. Yeast rolls and cinnamon butter are amazing. The salad is my all time favorite!

Close to the worst experience at a restaurant ever. I went here with my wife, son, sister, niece, and nephew for a late lunch early dinner on Monday January 18^th 2016 after a fun day at the Glazers museum. While we were promptly sat a decent sized table and provided seating for the children, which is where the good service basically ended. After a wait our waitress came over and took a drink order and we also went ahead and ordered the kids meals. When she returned about 10 minutes later with the drinks we ordered our meals. Now keep in mind we were here for the «Early Bird Specials» but a quick look at the regular proved that the «Early Bird Specials» only save roughly $ 0.60 to $ 1.10 off the regular price.

A kid’s pizza with fries, for my nephew.

My wife and sister both ordered steak nuggets.
Now we wait!!!
Now how could this be bad other than waiting too long for food?
Our house salad finally came out and we were able to tide the kids over with bits of that though they did not want salad, which was the reason for ordering their food first.
When the food did arrive,
My sons shrimp and fries were so bland and almost cold that he did not want to eat them
My nephew’s pizza’s dough was raw and his fries were cold and limp. Yes, of all things a kid’s meal was under cooked.
My niece’s chick was all breading and salty while her fries were also cold and limp, she did nibble on them.
My shrimp was okay but the sweet potato fries were more like jerky.
My wife’s steak was ordered at medium well and delivered closer to med rare (blood was still visible on pieces oozing out.
My sister’ steak nuggets we also ordered at medium well and delivered closer to medium rare, yet her onion and mushrooms were just warmed up in a salty butter sauce instead of being sautéed. At least she had a baked Potato to eat.
When we finally tracked down the waitress. Make it know about a raw pizza and get drink refills. She looked confused and went to the kitchen to speak to a manager and came back rough 5 minutes later to say they would remake it, and refiled the drinks.
When the new pizza came out, a different person came from the kitchen and asked if we had the kid’s pizza recook. Now the first pizza had pepperoni, the second did not. No manager ever stopped to ask how our service was or to make sure that the new pizza was even good. I cannot remember a time where some form of management did not check on the table to make sure all was okay and in the past if there has been an issue with food the manager was the one to deliver the food.
As we are waiting we notice another waitress having to return other foods to the kitchen (reason unknown.)
At this time we asked for more drinks again and the waitress finally came with refills. We also asked for out check.
Now we wait.
After about 10 minutes I get up to go find a manager or our waitress because the kids are ready to go. We wait again as she comes back with the bill about 5 or so minutes later. I paid and left her a tip even though I felt she did not deserve.
As we left I asked to speak to the manager who sent an «assistant manager» to speak to me. After I explain everything she asked if she could get the restaurants manager and I re explain everything.
I waited and re expanded all of my issues to him. His response was; if you promise to come back I will give you a coupon card. Now based on the lack of service combined with the quality of service and some poor past experiences at the same restaurants, I do not see why I should give you a second chance. No the less I have the coupon.

this certain codys is very gross. they had dirty everything, silverware, plates, baskets, table, and cups. Their food wasn’t appetizing at all. It wasn’t cooked well either. their service is just horrible. have a nice day and i would choose a different restaurant.

I love their burgers! I don’t know what it is about their BBQ sauce but it is amazing and is a must for your fries! I don’t think the negative reviews ate fair especially the one complaining that they were turned away 15 min before closing. It’s just RUDE to come into a restaurant that close to closing and expect them to all have to stay late.
Give this place a try. Their rolls are good too!

This place is hit or miss. Some days the food is terrible and I vow to never come back, but for some reason this is a meeting place for a lot of my friends/​family, so I have to eat here again and again. I’ve had a lot of menu items, but I always resort back to the Filet Mignon. The last time I had the Filet, it was gristly. I had no idea a filet can get gristly! So, maybe next time.

Showed up at 10:15 — sign says closed at 10:30 and we were turned away. Awful customer service and false advertising. Just say you close at 10 if that is the case

Ended up here after seeing outback was closed at 9 on sunday night. Thought this would be a similar, good steak dinner. Wrong.
I ordered a filet, medium rare. Your meal comes with yeast rolls and salad which were decent. My steak was god awful though… nothing like any filet I’ve had. Every bite was fatty and chewy, and it lacked any kind of flavor. It definitely wasn’t cooked medium rare either. Our server made mistakes right and left. I’m a server myself, but I had a hard time understanding her performance with a total of two tables. But, I’ll always leave 20% unless you’re just an asshole. I didn’t like that our appetizer was not comped, either. It came out when we were almost done with our steaks because it got taken to the wrong table, and we didn’t even want it by that point. We took a chance on some carrot cake, which was the only delicious part of the meal. I really don’t think I’ll be back though, given everything else.

Each night has a different special. Happy hour is buy one get one free draft beers. Got to tasty bold city Dukes brown ale totally delicious got to try it. Had the southwest chicken that was pretty good comes with tons of cheese and bacon. Mondays and Tuesdays kids eat free with the adult meal.

First time going here and the service was exceptional. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We had a perfectly cooked steak and the bottomless salad was fresh and crisp.

First time here to this Cody’s Original Roadhouse since my family has always went to the Cody’s Original Roadhouse in St. Petersburg. The staff was very nice and very professional to their customers that came in to eat. The manager came over and introduce himself to the families who were eating there making sure nothing was wrong with the orders or see if he can help with anything which is nice some of the other restaurants don’t offer great customer service relations with customers.
Since it was my birthday yesterday (August 12^th) I ordered the Mud Slide which tasted excellent wasn’t too strong or weak at all it was made just right. I ordered the New York Strip 18oz cooked well done cause I don’t like bloody red, raw or pink steaks yes I know well done takes away the taste of the steak but that’s how I like my steaks well done.
Our server was very fast and up keeping to see if we needed our drinks refilled, orders were cooked the way we wanted it. The gentleman was fast when we needed something like to go boxes.
Yes at this location we got to throw the Peanuts on the floor like the other Cody’s Original Roadhouses allow customers to do. They have TV’s around the restaurant for the customers to watch while waiting to be seated at a table or while eating or enjoying a very nice cold beer of some sort or a bottle of wine.
This restaurant is very clean and well kept.
