Not bad! great location, it’s one of the biggest ones I have seen. I love the variety of clearance shoes, availability on stocked shoes and sizes was also impressive.

Why is it that whenever I come in here I have this playing in my head? But seriously, this DSW has a superb variety of shoes. And a fantastic clearance section. Nothing to brag about, but I found my wedding shoes in their clearance section and probably save myself about $ 100 vs buying shoes at a bridal boutique or at Nordstrom. Their rewards program is great… you can often earn money off your next purchases. Also, the staff here is really nice. Always willing to help in person or over the phone. And they were absolutely gracious when I had to return a pair of boots that I bought about a month before. They have a very generous return policy — 60 days as long as they have been unworn — perfect for the indecisive girl!

I liked this location best from the 2 or 3 I’ve been to. The staff was helpful and the selection seemed a little more my style then what’s shelved at the Troy and Novi locations. They may just have been my imagination. I found a few pairs of shoes that I was deciding over. Unfortunately they didn’t have the size in the pair that I chose but I’ll be back here for sure. On that note, they had a ton of loafers which I don’t love but the tie shoes they had seemed of higher quality. More of a selection of men’s shoes especially the tie variety would be nice but with the amount of women’s shoes I think they would need to expand.

Shoes would eat up a significant part of my household’s gross domestic income if I allowed them. A nation I ruled would be a world leader in producing superb footwear at a variety of price points, but since my micronation is approximately one acre large, I have to settle with trade arrangements with the empire of DSW. Bloomfield’s DSW is only two miles away from the one at Tel-Twelve, and they provide two terrific temptations every lunch hour when I lament my insufficient shoe collection. The stores offer a similar variety of products in stock at any given time, though the ladies in the Southfield area must have slightly bigger feet because I never find any size 9.5s or 10s in popular styles. Bloomfield wins a star just for having an extended array of these coveted higher sizes which many smaller shoe stores only carry one of. Why on earth they don’t stock more 10s when women have larger feet now than they did a decade or two ago is beyond me. Laws of supply and demand evidently don’t apply, but I’ll make the drive up to Orchard Lake versus scooting down to Telegraph and Twelve if it means finding something in stock. Now, that said, this DSW is a large and bright shop with more boots, sandals, pumps, runners, and flipflops than you can shake a stick at. I found it to be airier and better lit than other DSWs in reach, but it also felt a bit too sparse. On the other hand, it’s very easy to locate what you are looking for; a good thing, since sales associates are thin on the ground except up by the cashiers. Shoes at price points between $ 30 to $ 300 are common, the majority bumping around the $ 75 to $ 125 mark for popular brands such as Nine West, Chinese Laundry, Steve Madden/Madden Girl, MRKT, and Sofft. I noticed a number of mid-market luxury brands too, including Rachel Zoe, which probably reflects the Bloomfield clientele who have this money to burn. I can only wish. Sigh! But it’s a temple to consumerism and you will be able to sample to your heart’s content. The real reason I come to DSW — and probably the star attraction for most — is their clearance section in the back. No matter what the sales are, I beeline straight for it in hopes of locating a coveted pair at a 75% markdown. Southfield’s usually has 30% discounts at most, not much savings for a lot of those shoes. Bloomfield had a significantly larger number of 40% and 50% markdowns. Different day of the week for stocking? Less turnover? Fewer size 10s? Whatever the case, I was pleased to see a pretty good selection of larger sizes and markdowns that put some of those spendy Sam Edelmanns and cute Me Toos in a cheaper bracket. Unfortunately I found nothing fitting the bill for autumn boots(too early) but I’ll be back to keep an eye on things. This DSW’s main competition is undoubtedly Nordstrom Rack for selection and comparable price. That the store is clean, well-organized, and stocked with a good array of styles and colours makes me a fan.

Hello? It’s D.S.W!!! Nuff said right there! This location has by far THELARGEST selection of merchandise compared to the other DSW’s in the Detroit-Metro area. Sales associates always ask if help is needed, or if a bag is needed(for those shopping on a mission-lol). Prices have spiked a little in the recent years, but hey that’s microeconomics for ya– supply and demand! I’m a fan, and a PREMIER member… so I have no complaints! :)

To start, I absolutely love their selection of shoes. As I’ve said before, I am a huge shopper and need to find clothing items that fit my budget. DSW does a good job of bringing in shoes that are very stylish and pretty affordable. They have a great variety as well, and their sale racks are always full. To be honest, the last two times I shopped here, all I walked away with were things from the sale rack. At this location, they are incredibly friendly. I got off work and headed over to Kohl’s because I needed to find a cheap pair of black heels for the next night. No luck there, so I headed over to DSW. I walked in just before nine and there were still some people milling about. I assumed they closed at ten because Kohl’s closes at ten, and they hadn’t made an announcement to say they were closing. At about ten after, everyone else had left and someone came over to ask me if I needed help because they were closed. I felt awful for keeping them, so I hurried up and paid for the shoes I had. They assured me it was fine, and reminded me that I could do an exchange or return them if I didn’t feel happy with the purchase because I was so rushed. It must happen to them a lot because Kohl’s is so close and is open til ten. I’m just amazed how great they were about the situation because a lot of retail workers get annoyed when you take too long. I will definitely continue giving them my business!
