I had an amazing experience at this business. Very friendly and helpful! My first pair of progressive lenses so I decided I was going big! I got on the Chanel website to find my dream frames and only a handful of retailers are in my area. Steven Franklin Optics is one. I called first, gave them the model number and they had them. Off I went. Unfortunately when I got there the frames I picked out looked horrible on my face. Have no fear, they had many other Chanel frames and the salesperson showed me the perfect frame for my face! I got them within a week and am in love with them. I also picked a sunglasses frame, Chanel of course, that I will go back and get when I refill my bank account :). I highly suggest trying Steven Franklin Optics if you want hard to find designer brands or even popular Ray Bans or Oliver Peoples. Great selection, great service, great frames and lenses.

Came in today from out of state because the titanium leg of my glasses fell off when I put them on. Apparently a known stress point as it happened before on the other side. The optician was a nice guy who luckily had a spare for my expensive Silhouettes. The price was right but when I walked outside I noticed a spot in my lens that wasn’t there when I walked in. It was a scratch on the inside of the lens! Went back in and he immediately said he hadn’t even come near it, that he’d seen it(why didn’t he mention it then?). I think his screwdriver slipped, but he said I should just get new glasses with my next eye exam. He acted like I was the one who made the scratch. As a photographer I carry some nifty gear and in my car I photographed the scratch with my macro lens and discovered that it had a fresh burr, had a hook on the deep end(I imagine at the point where the slipped tool was back under control), and I further discovered tool scratches on the lens where the new leg had been screwed back in. When I confronted the optician with my «evidence» he became argumentative, claiming that if he had done something like that he would take care of it. Well, this was his chance, but he opted after a bit of a standoff to refund the leg(or is it an arm?). I left very dissatisfied with that solution. I know when someone lies to my face, and I know when I’ve been snookered, and I certainly know when both happen at the same time. Now, no malice here. I wish his business well, but this was definitely the kind of experience that can hurt you as a business owner, because, after all, this review started out pretty good.
