Staff and management were amazing. Great for groups, families, or a date. You get a bang for your buck with their drinks and authentic mex-menu. A MUSTGOFORTACOLOVERS! I will definitely be returning, and if you’re a pineapple lover — be sure to try their Pineapple Express drink!

Ho brah is the go to spot for me and my friends on the weekends! Drinks are amazing(and perfectly strong) and the loaded nachos are a must have. Service is great and the wait is never long. A super chill spot with great vibes.

The chips and salsa are tasty, as were the plantain chips. Of the many tacos we tried, the real standout was the Shrimp Diablo. Churros were very good, but the texture of the sauce was a bit off; it didn’t stick well when we dipped. Service was mediocre: we weren’t offered water and we had to wait a very long time before our order was taken. Giving them 3 stars now; hope to try them again on another night and see if service improves.

Came in for lunch while visiting friends on Staten Island. The place seemed empty when we came in, which was good because it quickly filled up. By the time we were leaving there were several people waiting to be sat. The food here is served in monstrous proportions — at least my burrito was. I had the Mexican street corn as an appetizer because, why wouldn’t you? Have you ever had it? Then you know how amazing it is. I digress… The burrito I ordered was good, not overly rave-worthy though. I left fat and happy, and you can’t ask for more than that!

Another great Staten Island find. The drinks are delicious I had the blue berry frozen Margarita it had dehydrated berries and mixed in was more of blue berry purée then a fake syrup yum! For starters you can’t go wrong with the guacamole and chips awesome tasting guac. Food is great no matter what you decide. There’s is live Dj on Saturday night makes it a fun atmosphere.

The food at Ho’Brah is quite good. I especially like their nachos and the wide selection of tacos. The atmosphere is not as great. It feels very touristy, despite being touted as a ‘local Staten Island place’, and the wait is always extremely long. Several times when I’ve tried to eat dinner at Ho’Brah, I’ve been told that the wait will be over an hour and a half, and I’ve chosen to go elsewhere. So, great food if you’re willing to wait for it!

Came here for dinner with two of my girlfriends on a week night. We ordered margaritas and they were great. Ordered the naked burrito which was good, but not sure if it was worth the amount spent on it. If you wanted a naked burrito(burrito bowl) they charged you $ 1 more which made no sense since there isn’t a tortilla anymore lol. They also charge you for any meat added on($ 4 extra). It’s expensive here for a «taco joint». I’d rather head to Taco Azteca on Victory which is authentic tacos and way cheaper.

Ho’Brah is one of the better taco joints on Staten Island. I’ll get down to brass tax on this one: The tacos are good and a la carte, about $ 3 a piece and 2 – 3 tacos can fill you up. Maybe 4 – 5 if you’re starvin’. The Margaritas are good and will get you drunk, but aren’t cheap. I personally like Jose Tejas margaritas better but that’s another story(They’re also not on Staten Island). All in all, a good place on Staten Island to get your taco and margarita fix.

Overall very Tex mex nouveau not at all authentic, margaritas mediocre and very pricey they have no pitchers we spent $ 42 on three double margaritas.

Came on a Friday night, early around 7 and thankfully the wait was only 15 minutes, about an hour after that the wait was ridiculous! Happy we came early. We started off with guacamole, which was good, didn’t look or taste like it was made to order, also came with a salsa sauce. Shrimp ceviche came with tostones, it was delicious, didn’t have a strong citrus taste. The pork empanadas were my favorite! Very delicious, they come with two, and they are a good size. After eating all these good appetizers, and having drinks, we were pretty full, but I did want to try the tostones with skirt steak, pico, guacamole, and sour cream. They were awesome! Steak had a delicious flavor, and with all the other toppings gave it an extra kick. The only thing I didn’t like which I did express to the waiter is the food was coming out ridiculously fast, faster than McDonald’s…I felt rushed, which I mentioned also, he said because the wait on a Friday/Saturday is three hours. Well that isn’t my problem, we came out to enjoy our food, and drinks. We definitely didn’t overstay our welcome. I must say I enjoyed this place a lot more than burrito bar! And I’m happy we decided to try different appetizers, maybe next time we will include an entrée to our dinner.

I tried ho’brah for the first time last night and I thought it was excellent! I walked in with some friends and they told us about a hour wait. I had a seat at the bar to have a beer, and they have a excellent beer selection. I thought it was pretty awesome that they had flagship beer(a local Staten Island beer). I was more places on Staten Island supported flagship brewery. 20 mins later we had our table, which was less then a hour! The waitress had a iPad with specials on it which I though was pretty cool. We had the guacamole which I thought was excellent. For my main course I had the Bobo burrito which was really good! Dessert we had the churros which was amazing. I would definitely recommend ho’brah to anyone looking for a great Mexican meal on Staten Island!

Not many Tex-mex choices on the island, so we decided to check this place out. We arrived just before 6PM on Saturday night and were seated right away. The service was slow at first, took a while for our drink orders. Within 15 minutes of our arrival, the place filled up, with at least 20 people at the bar waiting for tables. Our waitress arrived during this«rush» and took our order. We started with the nachos with«Bohemain» chicken. Nice platter of nachos topped with guac, salsa, sour cream and jalapeño right out of the broiler. Tried the«long beach all star»(grilled hanger steak with a sweet bbq), the Sunset pork, and the«Cabo» tacos. All of the tacos were fresh and quite tasty We also tried a «Mission Bay» Buritto with sunset pork. It arrived with nice looking grill marks, a little to much rice filling for me, but it was very good. All in all a good experience. I will be going back.

Extremely tasty shrimp tacos, and VERY good margaritas! I will be back as much as possible! The service was terrific as well. There is plenty of space if you want to be at the bar, out in the open, or a little more intimate.

First I’d like to say we do like this place and When its good we enjoy it very much. They have the best tacos that I’ve found on the island. I’ve had every one they make. Nice empanadas, drinks, burritos, corn! I find all the food to be tasty and the place is cool. The problem seems to be with consistency. One time we’ll get the nachos and they are fantastic. The next time it looked like a million little nacho pieces just crumbled under some melted cheese. We had to eat it with a fork. I would have never sent that out to a table! Another time we ordered to go and they had no cheese at all? I know they use cardboard boxes to go but that means you need to melt the cheese on the nachos using a sizzle plate and then transfer the food into the box(Hint)
As a matter of fact when we order to go usually our order is wrong. Sorry to say this but our last 3 to go orders weren’t right. I don’t know if it’s too loud in there Or what it may be? I guess we needed to double check it more. Other than that the service is usually pretty good. I will say once again we enjoy this place very much. If they can just be a little more consistent I’d have no problem giving them another star.

The atmosphere of this place is really cool. It looks small a but is on the bigger side. The bar is a decent size and the staff is super friendly. I had a margarita, coñsuelas empanadas and rice and beans. The food and drinks were delicious. I feel it is a little pricy though. The empanadas were on the menu for $ 4. And on the bill it was $ 7.50 for 2. They’re filling but you need a side and this doesn’t come with it. I never questioned why it was more, but I will next time. I’ll def. come back to this place sometime soon to try more things ! Was not a fan of the chocolate banana empanadas, as wasn’t everyone else at my table. The churro are to die for though!!!

Positives: Guacamole and chips — BEST i’ve ever had! Fresh, delicious, chunky. Tacos are small but delicious and CHEAP. Server was honest and told us two tacos are generally enough to fill people up. At about $ 3 per taco, that’s not bad. The atmosphere here is very nice. Dark but not too dark and good for families or dates. Negatives: The banana chocolate empanada goes down in my book as the single WORST dessert i’ve ever had in my life. It was basically a sugar powdered shell containing blackened, melted bananas. Gross! It exploded onto my plate and I just abandoned it because the taste was nothing special.

I’m giving this a 5 star rating due to the great service and the lovely décor ! Being from brooklyn and a regular at the bay ridge location, I was very impressed with the staten island location! It was very spacious and super cute from the outside as well as inside. The food was great and fresh and great size portions. The manager helped recommending dishes and appetizers. Also they have a brunch on Sundays 11 am, your dish comes with a free drink & live music. Deffiently will be back to try the Sunday brunch

It’s a fun place to hang out. Would I say they have the best tacos and guac? Probably not. But they still pretty darn good. And Baja street corn is incredible. And drinks are cold and refreshing. It is something neighborhood needed for long time — so there is no surprise they are always busy. The atmosphere and setup cannot be beat if you looking to spend fun afternoon with friends laughing and drinking and eating. Bar is pretty big, and located by the open windows — they are on 2nd floor — so it’s nice to sit there to catch a breeze, watch cars go by on Forest and just relax. I been to their Brooklyn restaurants, and it is very similar — same vibe, similar menu. Let see how they grow in new neighborhood — so far, good start!

Great vibe and friendly staff. We where told its a 45 minute wait for a table so we ordered drinks at the bar, 20 minutes later we were seated. Drinks are super delicious and tacos are yum The reason for the 3 stars is for the fact that it was 80 degrees outside and it was freaking hot inside
