Here’s a quick breakdown of our dinner for two. Chips & Salsa — chips were good but the Salsa was flavorless. Margaritas were overly sweet. It tasted like those awful mixes that you find at the liquor store. Our chipotle wings were great! The entrées were editable but disappointing. The steak was overdone and the chicken enchilada had a very sweet red sauce. The Décor was comfortable and the service very good. Price for all of the above $ 53. Conclusion: I’d go back for the wings and a beer. Hopefully they will make improvents.

I’ve eaten here a half a dozen times and would have given it three stars except for the fact that the last time I was there I had taken half of my steak home and when I went to eat it later, it tasted distinctly of mold. I hadn’t noticed it when I was there so either it was disguised by whatever else I was eating, or it was only partly moldy. I would have complained if I had noticed it when I was there but since it wasn’t until later, I didn’t bother. Perhaps I should have given them a heads up. Oh well, too little too late.
Some reviewers said they didn’t like the décor but I found it cute. It’s a tiny place with an equally tiny bar. It’s cheap Mexican. The most expensive entrée is $ 16.00 and that was my moldy steak. It’s a small menu with mainly Taco’s, Enchilada’s, Burritos and the like. Nothing spectacular but good. No high-end Mexican dishes. You could eat here very cheaply. Try it if you’re willing to brave the idea of moldy meat. I don’t think I will.

The first thing that I noticed when going to dinner was that the place was dead on a Saturday night. When we left only one other group was dining there. Mexican restaurants are only fun if it’s lively. One of the reasons I think they don’t have a lot of customers is that it’s on the second floor of what looks to be an office building and it’s hard for people to spot. There were two waitresses but it seemed as if only one of them did any work. The free chips and salsa was pretty good. The chips were not stale like some other places I have been. Appetizer included wings with chipotle and blue cheese(side). The wings were slightly over fried so the meat got a bit dry but still not too bad. The entrees came(except for mine which apparently was ready but no one brought it out until I inquired). I got the taco sampler — I chose pork, fish, and steak). But it was luke warm(probably because mine sat there for 10 minutes because the waitress forgot to bring it). They tasted ok but I don’t think the vegetables were fresh or maybe they were just overcooked because they were mushy. The steak were THIN, SMALL strips… probably the smallest I’ve ever seen. could barely taste them. The fish taco tasted was probably the best of the 3. Pork one was rather forgetable. All in all, while not the worst Mexican restaurant I’ve been to, I would probably not go back.

I couldn’t actually tell you about the food, because we left after 20 minutes of sitting there without menus or water. The place was inside another loud bar and grill, and quite honestly was a little depressing. There was loud music outside, but nothing inside, and only 1 waitress. But there were only 5 – 6 tables seated, mostly couples, so I’m not sure why we weren’t greeted promptly, given menus, water, or even spoken to. The table next to us also seemed to be waiting a while, but at least they had drinks. I should have known when I called the number on the flyer no one answered, then called the bar and grill’s number and the hostess said, «it’s not full, I wish it were, but it’s not.» I think I know why.

I guess food was good and place was clean. But very slow service. It takes forever to get food and waitress never came by to fill water or paid attention of customer or anything. We ordered Homemade Tequitos which was too flied and it was hard and dry. They put some sauce to kill the taste, but terrible(it took about 30 minutes to get). Then we had Fish Taco and Chicken Taco which again took 30 minutes. I was bored and watched the waitress going back and forth, but they never stopped by to see how we are doing. Since it was our first visit using Groupon, I don’t know if I ever go back there. Overall tacos was not bad. And price overall was not too bad. I might go back to eat only tacos if ever go back there. They were also small place and we had to sit on bar stool since they run out of regular table. Also menu items are limited.

1st visit if you’re travelling north the place will be on your left right before a gas station at Bloomfield Ave intersection(hard to see sign unless you’re travelling south). There is no sign on the actual bldg so just go thru the main entrance(not sure if there is any other entrance) & go up the stairs or take the elevator & you will be right there. There are only about a dozen or so tables – very colorful décor – interesting music definitely not Mexican. They bring out a big bowl of tortillas & salsa. I’m not a salso afficionado but it was very tasty for those with more conservative taste you may find it a tad salty &/or spicy. It was very good that we wound up getting a 2nd bowl of chips. Appetizer was chicken taquito which was a bit bland just unseasoned chicken with an almost undetectable sauce the salso made it passable. For drinks I had the Jumping Bean which was a great mix, very tasty & not skimping on the alcohol. My friend had the berry acai margarita which when asked to sip tasted like cherry Kook-Aid – i’m sure it had alcohol but maybe my small taste & it’s extreme sweetness masked it(she will not get that drink again). Entrees were chicken enchiladas which was so soft it was almost like pasta – tasty & mild i had«the pasta» which was a good mix a bit spicy which is fine(not nearly as spicy as the salsa for dessert i had tres leches sponge cake which was fresh but a bit bland she had the mango mousse cake which was light & tasty – afterwards i had a coffee to help get over the buzz from my drink service was good(it was a wed & even though ½ price drinks for the ladies there wasn’t one to be found(at least at the bar) so for 1 appy, 2 each of appys, entrees, desserts with 1 coffee came to tax/tip $ 75 which is ok I prefer to give a detailed rating as opposed to just saying I liked it or I didn’t. For me I rate a restaurant in 4 categories in order of importance: Food Service Value Décor/ambience/misc If you’re wondering why this is the order for me I rather have great food & so-so service than the other way around. You can always plan around a slower evening to make it just as enjoyable but not around mediocre food whether it’s fast or slow paced. My 3rd item I call value instead of price because based on the taste & serving portion of the item compared to similar items at other restaurants tells me if it’s a good value. For instance the best steak I’ve ever had to date runs about $ 44 but besides being delicious(a way to tell is it stands on its own w/o adding any sauces) it is boneless & about 24oz so you get two good meals. Food(2.0), service(1.5), value(1.0) & décor/ambience/misc(0.5) I then take the # stars for each category & multiply by the # in parentheses then divide by 5 to get my final rating. If the final average is exactly ½ I’ll round up or down depending on other reviews. So my calculations are as follows: FOOD3.0×2 = 6.0 SERVICE4×1.5 = 6.0 VALUE3.0×1 = 3.0 AMBIENCE/OTHER 4.0 x .5 = 2.0 Total pts 19.50 divided by 5 = 3.4 which rounds to 3

Bought a groupon for this place for four. We when arrived we could not believe the décor, very nice for a small place. The waitresses were very friendly but didn’t know the menu too well. We got apps, drinks and dinner. All in all very bland. Was very disappointed since there seems to be not alot Mexican places in the area. We ordered a corn side and it looked like they spilt an ear in 4 to accommodate our order. This place has potential but they better get a Mexican chef in there soon to help with the favors because there was zero flavor.

My first time going. My husband and I went to Hola for the first time tonight. There is plenty of parking in the lot. Although the restaurant is on the 2nd floor, There is an elevator that takes you right up. The restaurant is small and cursor decorated with a very«at home» feeling. We were sat right away by a friendly waitress who brought salsa and chips over. Caution salsa is HOT but pretty good. My husband and I both had the chicken tacos which were good. The menu online says you get«Three Tacos» but the three tacos are pretty big. Ny husband ate two and I ate two and we took two home. If I go back u would try a margarita. The menu seemed pretty good for drinks. We gave our server a little more of a tip because she was very friendly.

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place out for his birthday. If it weren’t for the sign outside, I would have never found this place. It has an odd location because it’s upstairs and there’s no signs on the outside of the building, only on the street. We were the only ones in the restaurant for most of our dinner but I was definitely satisfied. I started with a Margarita which was absolutely delicious and I could actually taste the alcohol in it unlike chain restaurants. We had an appetizer and two entrees, and I thought everything tasted great and fresh. The only negative comment I would make is the music. They were playing 80’s rock music which totally went against the feel of the restaurant. Overall, I would recommend this place and I plan on going back.

I thought this restaurant would be fun and inviting and i was totally wrong. The restaurant looked like a diner. The atmosphere was non existent. The food was not good. I ordered the taco trio sampler and the food tasted old and the just heated it up in the microwave and served to me. BAD! BAD!
