Chain sports bar with slightly nicer décor/atmosphere than the average and a reasonably large standard bar food menu. It’s conveniently located for me(walkable when I’m in town) and is an OK place to grab beer/burger/nacho type food, and it’s mercifully not another pizza-and-sandwich shop. College students go here to drink and socialize and occasionally eat lunch with Mom and Dad. Graduates go here to relive their college experience or visit with old friends. Reminds me of «St. Elmo’s Fire». If you want to avoid Broseph and Woo-Girl from the college, go early on a weeknight or during a time when school is out. The staff are pleasant most of the time, but not very organized. I was once served a bone dry sandwich that according to the menu description was supposed to come with sauce on it. In another case I ordered something and was told it was unavailable… a half hour after I ordered it. These things happened at a time when the place was decidedly un-busy, as in, a handful of people in there. I’ll probably continue to drop by Barnaby’s once in a while just because of the location and because it’s not a dive and is comfortable when not crowded, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here.

Good service. Good pricing. Good steak sandwich. Just what we wanted for an easy, simple meal out.

Saturday night my sister had rented one of the back rooms here for a graduation party and we had a very nice experience. The owner/manager was very friendly and accommodating of the large party and splitting the check amoung all the graduates’ families. The spread of food that was out for dinner was much better than I had anticipated and I really enjoyed he chicken piccata, Cesar salad and ziti. The two bartenders were attentive and very quick with drunk orders. This made for the perfect setting for a laid back graduation celebration with a larger group. Would recommend it for a similar occasion and it looked like they had quite a few similar rooms.

I come here to people watch more than anything else. Great place to see people you knew from high school trying to relive their glory days. The service is typically quick. Usually plenty of seating. The outdoor seating is nice if you can make your way up to the bars for your drink. I’m sure I would love this place even more if it weren’t for 21-somethings screaming their conversations higher than the next.

Bartenders were extremely nice. Ive been here a fouple time. Saturday will be my last. I recieved extremely poor service on Saturday April 2nd. I was with a big group for the Dash of Diabetes. Once the group party left, my party(2 in total) sat in a table and waiting for a server to come by and maybe take our food order for a more than 30 mins. When we finally got someone to come to our table, we were told that the needed the table and we had to get up. I’ve never experienced that level of rudeness in my life. We weren’t asked if we would mind to move, or if it was okay… we were pretty much kicked out. I’m extremely disappointed with the sevice that we received and I have to to seriously rethink any planed events my company will have with Barnabys.

Went for the first time on Friday night, and was not disappointed! There are 4 bars at Barnaby’s – two on each floor – and the vibe is totally different at each one. They have good food, a medium size dance floor, a secluded outdoor smoking area, and a ‘quiet’ area upstairs where you can sit and chat with your friends in between the dance sessions. Took off a star because the bartenders mix drinks like it’s a frat party, i.e. two plastic cups. The floor and bar counter is stickier than an average crowded bar/club. They put a limit on how many people can be in a room, so if you step out to go to the bathroom you may spend 20 minutes in line to get back in. The music is good, but a bit erratic in terms of genre – it would go from rap to rock to country to house – kinda ruins the vibe a bit when you’re getting it on on the dance floor. Overall, this is a solid place. Most of the people here are in mid-late twenties, so you’ll meet a variety of people with interesting experiences who are not yet old enough to say no to a round of shots(or four). PS: get the Moscow Moose. People will come up to you just to talk about what’s in your hand lol.

One of my go to bar food locations in West Chester. Cool interior with a nice outside space when the weather is good. Food is basic bar American cuisine burgers, wings, wraps, etc, etc. Service is decent, staff seems a little disorganized at times.

Visited Barnaby’s tonight for the first time and I left feeling«ehh» about it. We started with the boneless buffalo wings which were okay but somewhat small and not filled with a lot of meat. I then split a cheesesteak and a honey Dijon wrap with my friend and we were not too impressed. The wrap with soggy and the cheesesteak had a stale roll. Service was friendly but overall the food did not impress me.

My husband and I had lunch with WCU daughter and 2 friends that are seniors in high school. Food was good. Burger perfectly medium rare. I loved the atmosphere. It was very busy, Football games were on. Waitress was friendly. On the same line as Applebee’s but consistent quality. No complaints.

Went on a Thursday nite. There was three of us. Waitress Caitlin was on top of her game. Very attentive, and always quick return with food or drink. Yuengling Lager on tap, ice cold! The other two drank Coors light and Malibu Bay Breeze, which I was told were good also. The wings and nachos were a great appetizer. The full rack of ribs was spot on excellent. The lime jumbo shrimp was not my order, but was a very small portion and the shrimp was not jumbo size. All in all, it was a great time, priced well, and delicious. If I could suggest one thing, it’s to call the shrimp as it is, and move it to the appetizer section, not keep it on the entrée section,(either way reduce it’s cost). Once again, thank you Caitlin!!!

This place is great for comfort food and great service. They have daily food and drink specials. Meg is a fabulous bartender, who is always tending bar outside on the patio. We are regulars. That’s how much we enjoy going to this bar.

Never been there for dinner, just the bar scene, but it’s always a good time! Pretty dirty and skeezy but by the time I get there I usually don’t mind. Bouncer is super nice, very strict about IDs even if you’re obviously old enough to drink and then some

Let’s not wrongly characterize this place as a college dive. This place is a GREAT place to bring the family for lunch or dinner, and give them a nice affordable, nice meal in a casual setting. One night, I think they even have a magician walking around, entertaining kids. And the guy is pretty entertaining for adults too. Secondly, if you are snooty and don’t like the kind of place that Barbaby’s is… which is a college sports bar with a lively atmosphere, then don’t go. What you SHOULDN’T do is rate the place one or two stars just because you don’t like the style of the place. I don’t go to the opera, and rate it one star because I don’t like overweight Italian people singing… I just don’t go. Don’t be shocked to find college kids in a college town at a bar. That being said, I fell in love with this place because of the prices and extremely friendly staff… the kind of people who learn your name and are happy to see you when you walk in the door. It was a great place for beers after class, buffalo chicken eggrolls which I still crave late at night, and a burger during the summer on the patio. My wife is obsessed with wings, and these are also her favorite out of anywhere. For outdoor seating, the patio is has a great atmosphere, a beautiful outdoor bar. The ambience is second only to Mas’ roof bar IMO. There are also plenty of TVs at watch the game, and the specials are exceptional… if you try, it’s hard to not have a nice bite to eat and some beers, and spend more than 25 bucks. That being said… on a Friday night, I wouldn’t go here after 11:00… It’s not my crowd. This is a product of the college, not the venue, so I will not let this affect my review. So go to Barnaby’s if you like energetic sports bars. It’s awesome.

This place is HUGE! I had no idea what to expect when my girlfriends dragged me here last weekend. I just moved to the area and they insisted that I experience this place. They were absolutely correct. If you’re a young person in West Chester you should come here. There are so many rooms for whatever anyone may want for their own night out. My girlfriends and I got a table, had drinks, and talked all night. Some people danced in these super crowded hot rooms, but that was not for us. Whatever you deem fun, Barnaby’s can provide.

I love West Chester, PA. It’s my new favorite small downtown place to be. This is such a cozy comfort food place to eat and hang out with friends anytime of day, 12 months a year. Be warned, its a college town, so if you get your underwear in a bunch over the future generation spreading there wings, avoid this place for your own good.

Barnaby’s is the frat house of the West Chester bar scene If you are the type of person that likes potato chips and beer pong, you will probably love hanging out at Barnaby’s. It almost always gets a little nuts and turns into something reminiscent of all of those solo cup parties you went to in college that got a little weird at 1AM Since I definitely wouldn’t come here for the food(for similar, bar food deliciousness that is much better, try Ram’s Head… or even Iron Hill instead) I would probably choose to come here if I wanted a wild night out with the type of friends that paint their faces for sports games, yell at eachother to boost morale, and like to drink rum and coke or jäger bombs. If that sounds like you and your friends, then be my guest. CONCLUSION: West Chester’s own red solo cup quality: it satisfies a sports bar craving, but there are better options price: good

My husband and I were in the area with some friends and stopped at this bar. It was my first time here and although I am not much of a bar person, I always end up venturing into them from time to time. This place gets very crowded, especially because of the college kids. That is to be expected though. However, my husband wasn’t fond of college guys stepping on his sneakers all night. There are also those girls that think it’s acceptable to not wear hardly any clothes and make out with randoms, along with being extremely intoxicated. Which leads me to think that the bartenders do not care much about how much their customers are drinking. If someone is coming up to the bar completely intoxicated, they shouldn’t be given another drink. Despite the crowds, the dj was awesome! He played a lot of songs from the early 2000s and the late 90s, which always gets everyone excited. In all, this bar is okay. Not great, not horrible.

They have unique eggroll and burgers on their menu. The interior is awesome. Leather booths, large windows, fire place and Scottish plaid rugs. You feel like you’re either in a British influenced restaurant or a ski lodge… whichever you let your imagination take you to. The food is really good. I had chicken wings and cheese fries. The wings were fried at perfect oil temperature. The wings were a nice size too. Corona’s were $ 2.50/bottle. I will definitely be going back to further explore their menu. The staff is fairly young, but they were very polite and on top of service. I read other reviews stating how Barnaby’s is a dive bar… to me, a dive bar is dirty with graffiti and clutter all over the walls, small & smokey. Barnaby’s is clean and beautiful inside. I went during the day, and there were only a few people inside. It was quiet. As with any college town, the go-to spots get crowded and service/experience goes downhill as the night goes on.

I’m really surprised that Barnaby’s has such a low Unilocal rating. However, this review is totally based on nightlife and not on their food. After needing a change of scene from the boring places I usually frequent in the city, my friend and I looked up West Chester night life and settled on Barnaby’s to start off our night there. It’s not the classiest place(though I’d hardly classify it as a dive bar), but there’s a place in this bar for any scene. Dancing upstairs(although I have yet to do so), a lounge type area, even a courtyard area out back with tvs to watch the games(if you’re into that sort of thing). As for pricey drinks, my cranberry vodka only ran $ 4.50(my friend’s beer was more expensive $ 6 although they did have drink specials) We went for drinks and I had such a great time, I went with another friend the following night. It gets crowded around midnight though, so keep that in mind!
