I’ve been here plenty of times since I grew up in west chester, mainly on weekends. I always go to the downstairs bar, on game 3 of the 2016NBA finals, myself boyfriend an my two brothers went to Rams head to grab one drink an watch the game we was the only ones downstairs at first. There was a Female bartender with black hair right away she asked for our order two of us asked for water an one drink, she automatically was MAD, my brother got his drink even ordered an second, myself an boy friend never received our waters. We then saw ppl playing jinga we asked if we could get next game an the bartender told us if we buy a drink we can. So we left, I asked to speck to manager an she was the one that night. I will never go for a game night again & plan to go back to speck to a manager of the bar besides her.

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night. We were a party of 5. We got a booth, by the bar. We ordered the nacho appetizers. 2 people ordered the Don’t Judge Me Burger. 1 ordered a main salad. I ordered the Apple Brie Grilled Cheese. My hubby ordered the Bacon Me Crazy burger. Pros — Quality of food. No skimping! My grilled cheese had thin slices of apple, which went nicely in the sandwich. You can taste it, but it’s not overwhelming and doesn’t take away from the savoriness of the food. The Don’t Judge Me Burgers definitely have to be squished down in order to fit in your mouth. — Portions. Definitely enough! The size of the nachos were enough to hold 5 people over! One of our friends said the nachos were making him hungry for his burger. Haha! — Good selection of drinks. There’s something for everyone– cocktails, other mixed drinks, beers, etc. There’s also a good variety of beers. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the different drinks, as well, which is always a good sign. Your wait staff should be able to answer customer questions, when drinks are a priority on the menu. — Good service. Our waitress did a good job of checking in on us and refilling any drink orders. Cons — Noise. Granted, this is a sports bar. Because we came on a Saturday night, it got hella loud. And we were sitting by the bar. Not good. Having conversations is not easy. — Price. My grilled cheese, including the side of tater tots, came out to $ 15. Pretty pricey. At least the portion sizes help somewhat justify the cost. Final Answer Am willing to come back. Awesome food, but I don’t like the noise.

We were in West Chester looking for a place to eat and little did we realize it was alumni weekend. Most of the restaurants were pretty crowded. We walked past Rams Head and they had plenty of tables available. We ordered the Asian pork tacos to share and my daughter ordered the steak sandwich. Tacos were fair and my daughter liked the steak sandwich. The steak sandwich was $ 12 and was served on a six inch roll. The Phillies game was on and we were in no rush. I had a few beers and the rest ordered sodas. The check came and we were surprised how high it was. They charged $ 2.25 for each individual soda. I honestly can say I have never have been out for dinner where I spent more money on soda then I spent on cocktails. I would have given them 3 stars but I took one off for attempting to nickel and dime dinner customers.

Rams head bar is an off the beaten path«West Chester» bar. By that I mean there are much less college kids here compared to some other locations downtown. They had a decent collection of beers including one Round Guys Peanut Butter Porter. Prices for beers are a bit on the high side, and although they have some draughts, I would not say they have an extensive list of beers. From the look of things the Nacho platter is DAMNBIG. If you are looking for an app that can easily feed a table of four hit up those nachos. They do however have quite the full bar. I had decent service from both our Bartenders, and the table service was A-OK. As the night trailed on I did notice the younger crowd start to trickle in. Now I didn’t check out the DJ downstairs, but apparently its a great place to «hook up.»

Great place to meet with friends and have a few drinks. Never been my main stop for the night, but always a great stepping stone in age old West Chester bar crawls. The service is decent. The food will get you through the night. Nice mix of college crowd and those just seeking a light dish and a drink.

One of the best low key bars in west Chester. The food is great but we mostly go for the late night crowd. Great beer on tap and the machine that you can put money in and play music you pick!

We got the chicken nachos and a pulled pork burger. Nachos were huge and fairly priced. Lots of cheese, chicken, and veggies. The plate was a bit too dominated by savoury flavors. to balance the profile I would have like a splash of lime or more generous salsa. The burger was solid. I ordered medium rare and received a medium rare burger. The brioche style bun kindly ceded to the bbqy pork and beef mess inside. The burger was not extravagantly seasoned or buttery, but it was pleasant. The service was friendly and informative. I reccommend this place.

Bacon popcorn: comes in a paper bag! Yummy! Flatbread Pizza was chicken alfredo: Yummy! Filet mignon cheese steak. . it was fine. The onions were not actually caramelized, and the meat was indistinguishable from typical cheesesteak meat. But it wasn’t painful, just not exciting. There are a couple mentions of funnel cake fries on the menu: don’t bother, they are akin to the frozen fries you get in a bag at the grocery store. I was imagining little sticks of that glorious fried festival dough from my childhood, and I was deeply saddened. Oh well. The décor & atmosphere is very comfortable. If I lived close by, I could see the Rams Head being a go-to spot for us, once we figured out our favorites on the menu.

Great variety of high quality beer and good food to choose from. The upstairs has a very pub like atmosphere and the staff is attentive.

We went here on a Saturday afternoon between lunch and dinner time. The service was pretty good, although there weren’t very many other patrons in the establishment at the same time. I ordered one of the specials which was a half rack of ribs with an apple flavored bbq sauce. The ribs were decent. I didn’t particularly care for the sauce on them, but that is just a personal preference. I was excited because the menu featured tater tots as a side, but they weren’t really that great. Overall, this is a fairly decent restaurant, but I probably would have ordered something else.

Surprisingly good. Food was excellent. The wings I think we’re outstanding… one of the best I’ve had. Salads were great too. Great craft beers!!! Recommended.

So you’re in the college town of West Chester, see the name and think; just another college bar. That would be a MISTAKE! They bill themselves as a gastropub and the look, feel, and taste of the place is exactly that! The ATMOSPHERE is pure pub and was exactly what I expected. Lots of dark wood and subdued lighting. There are plenty of TVs, a jukebox and multiple bars. So they’ve nailed the classic pub model but I didn’t experience anything unique. ADULTLIBATIONS were also as expected. There is a very large beer list with solid variety, a very nice whiskey list, and some specialty cocktails. Once again it was exactly what I expected to find in a classic gastropub and once again nothing particularly unique. I enjoyed a couple of glasses of an excellent IPA at a fair price. So what about the FOOD? If you stripped the menu of identifying info and just showed me the dishes I’d say«oh, it’s a gastropub.» Are you sensing a theme here? I ordered House Made Corn Hush Puppies with Herbed Crème Fraiche Drizzle for $ 6. They were very good but by now I expected that. There are plenty of burgers and salads on the menu and everything has that gastro twist. CUSTOMERSERVICE was just ok. I was in just after they opened and it felt like they were still prepping for their day. Everyone seemed a little distracted. I’ve visited many, many gastropubs across the county and these folks are a textbook example of this market niche. I’d be pleased to visit again.

Rock solid! We LOVED this place! My lady and I wanted to grab some food and watch the Eagles attempt to get in the win column so we headed over to the Rams Head and grabbed a seat at the bar. Great idea as Devin the bartender ROCKED!!! He makes the BEST old fashioned we ever drank and was superb at offering up the right beer selection. We had 10 wings — 5 buffalo hot and 5 chilli seasoned(recommended by Devin) and they were delicious. We had the nachos as well and they were excellent — stacked right so you got cheese, peppers, chicken, beans etc with every chip. Later on we split a roast pork with cheese and broccolini on the side which was good(Tommy DiNics it wasn’t but it was a solid roast pork sammy — next time we will ask for extra au jus). Overall this is an excellent gastropub. Check it out — they deliver great food, service and drinks. Highly recommended.

So I met the Chef while eating here, Chef Scott, very cool dude. I also met the GM, I think his name is James, or Jim, anyway, great experience, and both gentlemen took the time to say hello, despite how busy they were. I had a blast with my daughters and I stepped outside of my comfort zone for the evening and tried to go completely gluten free. Normally this is torture for me, but these guys pulled it off, and I really wanted to support my daughter who has an intolerance to gluten. My meal was great and so were my daughter’s meals. I had the Bacon Deviled Eggs, really nice. Down south, well south of Philly, I had something similar that totally blew my socks off, these devil eggs were right inline with them. I had the fish tacos, also very good, one of my kids had the El Fuego burger, while the other went for the Traditional. We also split some Edamame and Nachos. I have to say I was very impressed with the entire overall experience. I would definitely go back.

Great little pub borrowing the name of local University mascot. Very authentic feel, great place to watch a match on TV and very good selection of beer. If that’s all you want, then four stars! Now for why 3 stars. The food sucks. The service is very good, but being brutally honest, this town sets the bar a bit higher and they need to raise their game. I highly recommend Baranby’s on High Street for an overall superior experience including the food.

Came here some time ago after a Christmas shopping trip nearby. Needless to say, I was hungry, probably a bit of a grumpus and Ram’s head fixed that right up. Decent beer list and typical bar food. The gent I was with was pretty stoked to see Sweet Baby Jesus on the bar list, so he was surely satisfied. For food we split the poutine and a burger. The Poutine is a fatty cheesy dish that hits the spot when in need of a greasy fix. Fries with melted cheese curd, parm cheese and gravy. Holy moly. Definitely gained some lb’s after that one. Our burger of choice was the Don’t Judge Me Burger and I definitely judged myself after housing half of it. Beef burger topped with cheddar cheese, avocado, onion rings(not just one, but a STACK), pulled pork, fried egg and smoked paprika aioli. I am a sucker for anything with a fried egg on top. The burger came with a choice of side — we got tots(win!) and a trifecta of sauces. Each one was equally as good as the next. All in all, this place hit the spot.

Get the nachos! I ordered them because I wasn’t particularly hungry and what ended up coming was more than I could have ever imagined! Plenty of food to just split with a friend for a meal. Great atmosphere. I came to watch NFL playoffs with my boyfriend and he enjoyed it even more than me. I had a cocktail(the name escapes me) but it tasted like grape cough syrup. Other than that I had a great experience!

I’m pleasantly surprised by the food that was Served for lunch. The filet mignon cheesesteak was knock your socks off, drop your pants good . I think the burger was very good but I wouldn’t rank it is highly as the cheesesteak. The Sirachi coleslaw was very tasty, portions were good, and a nice beer selection rounds it out. All in quality good, reasonable prices. Worth a return trip.
