The BEST seafood house in the hood, they serve the freshest and tastiest Cajun style seafood, not to mention how extensive the menu is! Had Father’s Day lunch here, they saved us a big table in the corner, semi private and comfy! Started off with tap Blue Moon, two hot green teas and a regular coke, yeah I am the drinker in our family. It didn’t take us long to decide on what to share. Food: Cajun seafood garlic noodles: definitely one of the best, so flavorful with enormous amount of seafood and sausage in it. Hubby and parents loved it. Lobster roll with drawn butter: perfect bun with generous amount of super fresh lobster, everybody loved it. Dungeness crab, crawfish, clams and sausage platter: the BEST we have ever had, lemon butter flavor was flawless, so refreshing, parents don’t eat spicy so they loved it. The seafood was one of the freshest no doubt! We enjoyed everything! Hubby and I ordered spicy Cajun sauce on the side, a lot of garlic flavor, not too spicy, really liked the sauce! Food was SO good, service was great, I had another tap Stella to finish the meal. Everything was top notch, my entire family was happy! Will definitely come here whenever I crave Cajun seafood!

The food here is amazing! I ordered Cajun fries & a pound of whole shrimps. The spicy Cajun sauce is so buttery and full of flavor. It wasn’t salty or so heavy. They gave me so much sauce in my bag! I was so shocked because the place I usually go to charge for extra sauce or they would barely give me any. My shrimp was drenched in their spicy Cajun sauce… It was so much flavor and the shrimp just melted in my mouth. The seafood here tasted really fresh. The Cajun fries were crunchy on the outside a soft on the inside. It was so good! I would be coming back here again… A lot. The customer service was great and the place looked sanitary and well kept. Note: When you order to go, your seafood comes in one clear bag & it might be all smeared with sauce… I recommend that they doubled bag it & twist the top or tie a knot because mine was just wide open but good thing it didn’t spill… But that’s all.(:

Stumbled onto this place by accident, and OMG these guys know how to cook! It is extremely healthy and very tasty! There is not salt and pepper on the table, and it think that is because they want you to actually taste the food, and honestly you don’t need the extra flavor of salt and pepper. You absolutely must try!

By my office so I’ve been here a few times for lunch. Chinese style whole friend shrimp is really good. Soft shell grab sandwich was also great. Prices are decent. Co-workers had the Garlic noodles and a few other dishes that was closer to the salty side. Flavors are strong here, so as long as you’re prepared for that you’re good.

I like this place. I have eaten in many spots similar to this like Boiling Crab, Stinkin Crawfish, The Shack, The Crawfish Spot, and etc. The difference at this place is their lunch menu. I ordered the shrimp under their Grilled Seafood Plate, which came with white steamed rice, vegetables, and about 10 pieces of whole shrimp marinated in lemon-butter. I liked the smaller portion without needing to order a pound of shrimp and overeat. Their customer service is awesome too. The server was kind and very attentive. I was really surprised that the chef checked on us too. That was truly an exceptional service.

Big Catch has always been super delicious in my POV. So when I saw that they opened a location much closer to me I was soooooooo excited. Big Catch was one of those places that made my mouth watered when I thought about it. Unfortunately their Long Beach location is the one that makes me feel that way. Coming to this location the only thing that stood out to me was the Customer service. It was great!!! But flavor wise of their shrimps … I was quite disappointed. Ordered: *Oysters– no complaints! *lemon and butter shrimps-heavily lacked flavor. Was pretty disappointed! I ended up dipping it into the spicy Cajun sauce to just give it more favor. *spicy Cajun shrimps-had more flavor than the lemon and butter but definitely wasn’t comparable to the Long Beach location. Would I come back? Yes because maybe they were having a off day. Yes because there’s other items that I wanted to try. I say give them a chance. But if you want the for sure no regrets than I say go to their long beach location. Tips: *located next to forever 21. Where the West Covina mall is. *shared parking lot with other businesses. *provides you with a bib. *accepts credit card and cash. *HH daily 3 – 6 pm. *Serves alcohol *has other locations.

I went here with my family not too long ago after my sister’s graduation. It’s located outside of the West Covina Mall near Lucille’s Smoke House BBQ. We did the«All-In Family Special» and got the deal where if we spent $ 50, we got another free pound of shrimp. Not too sure if they still have that deal going on, but overall, the pricing was not too bad! Food was great. The employees were attentive and kind. Seems like this restaurant is not too well known, but I really wish it was! I would definitely recommend trying this place out of you’re ever in the area. The place itself is very clean, there is ample amount of seating, and they have televisions as well!

Took the whole crew to try out this new seafood restaurant for our yearly mothers day lunch. No wait, very clean and the staff made a huge effort to make sure our large party was comfortable. We ordered appetizers and the All In Platter. Fried brussel sprouts were amaze-balls. Jalapeño wings 2 thumbs up. Cajun rice and cajun noodles were delicious as well. Our server Yesenia went above and beyond for us. The main dish was awesome. The spicy cajun sauce was so tasty. I definitely will be coming back !

Came here for lunch today and was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of food for the price. The food was very delicious and very decently portioned. What I ordered:(below are lunch prices) Seafood garlic noodles($ 12): so good and an ample amount of seafood! Highly recommend! Soft shell crab sandwhich($ 12): my dad loved this dish! It was really good the crab was not too hard and the flavored were good there was a spicy kick! The brioche bun was soft and the cold slaw was a good compliment! Crispy Brussels sprouts($ 3): SOGOOD! And for $ 3 you get a basket! A little lime-y and salty!!! And very crispy! LOVEDTHIS ! Clam chowder($ 7): my dad kept boasting about how the clam chowder had clam taste and there was real clams! Very delicious! The lunch version comes with two pieces of garlic bread! Overall, I really enjoyed my experience and will definitely be back to try the Cajun shrimp! Our server Stephanie was a sweetheart as well! HIGHLYRECOMMEND!!!

After a long week of work and subpar food, finding good food was a must! Food: I ordered the sea bass, which came with rice and vegetables. The sea bass was amazing; it was super flavorful and it melted in your mouth. Side Notes Ambiance: As you enter, there’s a hostess up front ready to seat you. The restaurant has lots of seating and some large TVs. Service: Thank you for the service, Michelle! Overall: I will revisit and recommend any seafood lover to give this place a try!

This location used to be a Lee’s Sandwiches. I can tell that they didn’t have to do much to renovate the place, as it maintained a similar layout and décor. The restrooms are at the far back and are well maintained. The dining area is pretty big, with room for large and small parties. There is outdoor seating with heaters for those cold nights. When I first looked at the menu, I instantly compared this place to Boiling Crab. Spoiler Alert: if you order any of the boiled seafood, you will not be given a bib. We decided to order a pound of shrimp, cajun fries, and fried calamari. I was very surprised that the shrimp was delivered on a plate rather than a plastic bag like I have been accustomed to. Nonetheless, the shrimp tasted very good. We decided to get the spicy cajun flavor, but it was mostly mild than anything. The shrimp was pretty flavorful, as the spicy did not overtake the flavor. The french fries were good, but the portion size was a bit small. The fried calamari was very good as it was lightly breaded and highly complimented the fantastic tarter sauce that was provided. The service here is top notch. All of the food came pretty quickly, and the people working here were very courteous. I would definitely come back to this place to try their other items. I would give this place 4.5 stars.

ekkk this place is bad. first the location is terrible, there is no parking and wherever you park you going to have to make a hike to get here. the service was also not great, just seemed like many inexperienced servers here. but the most important the food, it was just ehh. i understand it is going to be higher price since its at the mall but the shrimp was small and hard to peel, which prolly means its older. the sauce wasnt great and dont give you much. also they seem to skimp on giving garlic which is the best part of these kinds of meals. bottom line… this place is EXPENSIVE and just not that good. i wouldnt mind paying more if it tasted good. oh well lesson learn here

First time dining at this restaraunt and it’s wide variety of food selection left me impressed! There’s a plate tailored for everyone’s palette at this restaraunt which is a big plus. The environment is clean, spacious, and the staff was attentive and courteous. I opted for oysters as my appetizer and the salmon quinoa plate for my entrée. The oysters were fresh, flavorful, and served at just the right temperature. The salmon quinoa plate left me feeling full, healthy, and satisfied. The seafood is of good quality as it should be and the portions here are more than equivalent to the pricing. Looking forward to eating here again and exploring the menu. The Big Catch is one of the better dining establishments at the West Covina mall!

Let me start off my saying naomi is the absolute worst waitress I’ve ever had at any restaurant. I’ll explain why since my review last time was flagged. She took our order shrimp w sausage, and fried oysters. Naomi forgot to tell the cook about the oysters though. She avoided us after giving me and my girlfriend the shrimp. She was also dressed unprofessional and had makeup globed on her face it was pretty disgusting. After about 15 – 20 mins Naomi finally came to the table asking if we were ok, I told her about the oysters and she never came back. The older manager lady came and asked if we were ok I told her about the oysters and Naomi being unprofessional she apologized and said the oysters are on the house. I got the oysters and they were disgusting basically it was breaded grease if I want fried oysters next time I’ll just go to boiling crab. The shrimp also had an unhealthy amount of grease in it. Pretty foul place I’ll never go back because of Naomi. Ps this place Is overpriced…

Went to Big Catch for the first time tonight and man I’ve been missing out. Friday night, party of six walked through the door and was seated right away. Generally the food is fresh and tasted fine, just the service is a bit… Unprofessional… We ordered ½ dz of oyster, calamari, clam chowder as starter, fish taco, lobster roll and a grill lobster as main courses… About 7 minutes later everything is on the table already! Quick, but too quick, I can’t decide should I keep working on my appetisers or start my main courses… Oysters is fresh Calamari is the largest pieces I have ever seen… Lobster is ok, no surprise Lobster roll and fish taco are both fine Clam chowder is a bit light, not much of clam taste

First time here today with the hubby and 3 kids in tote. I had the lobster roll and the NE calm chowder. The roll was bigger than expected and just how I like it… buttered and that’s it(no mayo or other unneeded stuff)! Simple is better =) My husband had 2 shrimp taco and the fish and chips. The tacos were AMAZING! Also couldn’t complain about the fish and chips. My eldest had the kids noodles(butter and parmesean) which she tore up cuz it was really yummy, the other had fish and chips and the youngest had shrimp and chips… everything was great. Service was excellent, friendly, and accommodating =) prices are reasonable and they have really really good promotionals which they frequently change(as told by manager). Place is clean, well lit, good for family, big groups, or just you and your special someone =) We will definitely be coming back!

Finally got around to try The Big Catch and I’m so happy I did! We got there around 2:30pm on a Friday and it was empty. Sam was our waitress and she was very attentive and friendly. She kept our drinks full and was very informative about their menu. She let us know that since everything is fresh, some items may take longer to come out than others. I had the grilled fish tacos, clam chowder, and Cajun fries. Everything I had was pretty amazing. Their fish tacos were small street tacos, but was packed with flavor. I just loved everything about it! Their clam chowder was nice and rich, loaded with clams, chunks of potatoes, and the garlic bread that came with it complement it very well. My husband had the oyster po’ boy sandwich and he enjoyed it. The Big Catch is a nice addition to the mall and I’m so glad it’s here! Can’t wait to go back and try other things on their menu!

Came here on a Wednesday for lunch with my boyfriend. Not many people in the restaurant but it’s to be expected since its in the middle of the day. Waiter was very nice and attentive. Of course people will be comparing this place to boiling crab and kickin crab, but since I dont eat seafood, my review will probably not pertain to any of you seafood lovers. So if you want to know what the non seafood dishes tasted like, then keep on reading. Glad this place had a good amount of vegetarian options for me to choose from. Brussel sprouts: I absolutely love their brussel sprouts. Although it was very oily, thats how I love to eat all my food. The sprouts were crispy, flaky and full of flavor. I def recommend trying out this dish as an appetizer. It was a very healthy, yet unhealthy snack. Seasoned fries: This was also very delicious and full of flavor. I literally couldnt stop munching on these. I like how their fries are thin(I absolutely hate thick fries) and not over cooked. Garlic noodles: I asked for this dish without the seafood, but I didnt realize that it also had meat in it, so I had to eat around it which was kind of a pain, but oh wells. This dish was just alright, not really the best thing I ate here. It was super garlicky which is good, but the taste was blehh. The presentation of it is beautiful though, it forsure looked better than it taste. Boyfriend got the clam chowder which he said was not too bad. He also got some shrimp and rice dish. The dish was SUPER oily and he said the sauce didnt taste as good as boiling crab. Portions here are HUGE, even the appetizers, we couldnt finish everything.

First thing I wanted to state is that they have gas Cussler service. The server was quick to seat us and brought out our food and actually checked up on us to see if we wanted anything else. We ordered the crawfish and clam along with some beers. The prices were reasonable for the seafood. They give you utensils for the seafood like to crack open the shells. I wasn’t too big of the fan of the butter sauce but the spicy was good.

Eh. I came for happy hour oysters… and got more than… happy hour oysters. I was enticed by the $ 3 beer and $ 5 calimari… meh. I also got the zucchini fries. not bad. service was pretty good Oysters: they came with cocktail sauce and horseraddish. mmmm! they hit the spot but left us craving more… not too bad for $ 9 but definitely could find it cheaper somewhere in LA if i wanted to drive that far… eh. Beer was okay. can’t really comment on it too much i guess. Callimari was okay. it had weird sauces with it and… frankly not to our liking… we ended up just asking for cocktail sauce to go with it. Zucchini fries were good. Everything tasted pretty good… except for some parts of calimari where the batter was soggy. eh. all in all. a bit disappointed that the bill went up to more than we wanted especially since it was supposed to be a snack, not a meal. meh. might be back to try their take on cajun shrimp boil.

Ok so my friends have been asking why I haven’t been writing reviews lately? Well honestly just lack of inspiration I guess, that said today my girl insisted I try this place. Now I must say once again with all these Cajun restaurants popping up trying to capitalize on the whole Boiling Crab concept, it’s easy to be apprehensive when trying another one. So I’ve been one of many who has always said«you want the real deal go to Boiling Crab» Well today my friends I will tell you in all honesty I will take this place over Boiling Crab any day! Let me paint you a picture of my experience ladies and gentlemen I walk in immediately greeted and sat at the table of my choice. I ask if they have the Raider game on Manger tells me no, but let me put it in for you! My waiter greets us and was very thorough as he went over the menu in detail. We had the oysters which were amazing I must ad, the Jalapeño wings and a pound of shrimp! I can’t get over how tasty the sauce was and served in a bowl not in a bag, also a spoon with plenty of sauce to dip your shrimp or whatever else comes to mind. Ramon, my waiter was extremely attentive as were the rest of the staff making my experience a very happy one. I honestly can’t put into words what a great fulfilling sit down this was from the music they play to the overall ambiance of the joint, all I can say is come try this place my friends don’t cheat yourself treat yourself! You can’t afford to pass on this place trust your Uncle E!

It pains me to say this, but the Big Catch is SOMUCH better than boiling crab! Pros: 1. This place is huge and décor is pretty nice in comparison to their competitor. 2. Service is amazing, our server was very attentive and came by multiple times to check up on us. 3. The Cajun seasoning is yums, but a little salty. 4.I do not get HEARTBURN after the meal which I was extremely happy about! Cons: 1. Some items are priced a little high in my opinion. 2. A couple of shrimps were mushy and not fresh, but it’s understandable. Items that I would recommend: 1. Cajun Shrimp 2. Cajun noodles 3. New England Clam Chowder Final Verdict: Thumbs up.

After getting mixed reviews a friend and I decided to check this place out on our own. Got here around 930pm(about 30 mins til closing) and saw only a couple people there. We got seated right away and ordered. I ended up ordering 1lb of shrimp with the lemon and butter sauce($ 11), 2 pieces of corn($ 1.25), potatoes($ 1.25), an order of sausages($ 5.00), and an order of cajun fries($ 3.00). My friend just ordered a pound of shrimp and a cajun fries for herself. When the food came out(about 5 minutes) we were shocked that it was nicely plated on a nice plate. We thought it was gonna be in a bag like all the other cajun shrimp places. Anyway, i got my first shrimp and noticed it was cold. It lacked in flavor so we asked for a side of the cajun sauce(i think thats what it was called) and it didnt make it taste any better cause it was so salty. The sausages were whatever(nothing to really rave about) and the corn tasted about the same as any other cajun joint. The cajun fries on the other hand were really good. Luckily we each ordered one cause the serving size was small. The only thing holding me back from giving this place 1 star was the customer service. Ramon was our waiter and was very fast and attentive. He made sure we had everything we needed and frequently checked up on us to see if we needed anything else. He also made sure our waters were always full. Overall, i dont think ill be coming back to this place. Total for everything we ordered was $ 38.70.

Ive only come here once so i cant give a complete 5 stars just yet. Although my first time here was a good experience. Its located at west covina mall in the back area that faces the 10 freeway where lees sandwiches used to be. I was expecting it to be like boiling crab but their variety was so much better. You are able to get pounds of shrimp like boiling crab but they also have noodles, fish and chips, sandwiches, tacos, and dessert etc. I got the garlic cajun noodles. It was quite bigger in size compared to the pictures i first saw on Unilocal. The garlic and cajun put together was very good! One flavor wasnt over powering the other which i was expecting. Also has some seafood in it. It is a little bit spicy but not too bad considering my tolerance for spicy is low. Price range is a little more on the expensive side but its reasonable for what they serve. The plate i got i believe was $ 10 – 12 at most. Our waitress i believe was named stephanie and she was very nice and super sweet. Walking in they are welcoming and nice as well. I came here with my family and we all enjoyed it. We each got different foods we were able to try a little bit of everything and it all was so tasty ! Goes well with their lemonade. Definitely coming back here again

Love the service and awesome happy hour menu! The employees are very attentive and my cup of water was constantly being refilled without having to ask. The food came out pretty quickly. I really liked the flavor of their brussels sprouts, but it seems to me like these were deep fried instead of baked, so they were extra oily. Some appetizers were $ 3/$ 5 dollars during 3−6pm and the portions were great. Not a place to be health conscious, more like a place to grab a drink and some snack foods.

A super cool spot! I just decided to try this place out for lunch and I am glad that I did. The décor is awesome. High ceilings, clean, modern and with flatscreens on every wall indoors. There is also a happy hour, so you can have beer and seafood at a good price. My only quip is that I wish they had a tv for the outdoor seating area as well. I got the Cajun garlic noodles. It was good. I was pleasantly surprised. It cost me $ 15 when everything was said and done, but it was definitely worth trying and I will be back. The good thing about this location is that it is a mall parking lot, so parking is easy.

First impression review. Met a friend here for dinner & weve both wanted to try it out. Atmosphere is clean & modern. Looks like it can handle a busy night. Plenty of seating, also has a small patio area to take advantage of the CA sunshine & warm nights, weather permitting of course. Found out that West Covina is 1 of 5 locations. Since it was our first time here, we wanted to try several menu offerings to get a feel of the place. We started with the Fried Brussel Sprouts. Wow! Just… Wow! Try them!!! I dipped mine in sriracha… yummo! My friend ordered Lobster Roll. He said it was a bit on the dry side, but still was ok. He also order the Cajun Dirty Rice. We were sad that it didn’t turn out like we had hoped. They used steamed rice that was on the wet side, which made the dish a bowl of mush. Didn’t even try it out. Maybe next time. Our waiter, Ramon & manager Lisette were on point in trying to remedy the situation & apologized for the error. In fact, all the waitstaff there were very friendly. So my friend decided to try the Fish & Chips. The filets were smaller than what you normally see in other restaurants. Maybe the size of the entire thumb of a big man. It was good, but what got our attention was the tartar sauce. Amazeballs!!! Oh and it’s served with fresh cut fries, the ones with the peel still on them. I chose to do peel & eat. So I ordered 1 lbs of whole(head-on) shrimp & added sausage & an order of corn on the side with just butter. With all the Cajun peel & eat places popping up, I had to try it out, for my mom… yeah. for my mom’s sake… lol. Results, they have a heavy hand on what a pound is. I came in hangry & I know I can knock out a pound. I took about 7 – 8 shrimp plus sausage home! I did eat 1 corn(2 come in an order, but thank Heaven my friend had the other) The manager Lissette gave us dessert in lieu of the dirty rice snafu. The choice was between Cheesecake Bites or Deep Fried Oreos.(Are we at the Fair?) We chose the Cheesecake Bites. Rich, but delicous. Creamy, crunchy & caramel… what’s not to like! We discussed it and said that we’d come back and give the dirty rice another go. Thanks Ramon & Lissette for turning a bad order into a really good experience.

Not gonna lie, their extra spicy sauce is not very spice, but super addicting! They had a Buy One Get One special going on for their first 2 weeks of grand opening. The Dim Sum King himself(Richard L.) suggest that we should definitely take advantage of it. When it comes down to it, only one question matters, Is it better than Boiling Crab? The short answer is… NO, it’s definitely not as good. Long answer… Although the sauce was very addicting, I suspect that it’s laced with MSG. I’m not saying that its bad or anything. Heck, I love MSG, Chinese people put it on everything. It’s kinda like cheating. So obviously heir sauce tastes bomb. Although service was quite good and our server Alex was very friendly; we did run into a few mishaps with the food. Ms. Queenie had order the gumbo, and it was soooo salty that it taste like sea water. Probably been boiling down all day. We had order one pound of crawfish, one would think that the sauce would taste the same, but it was sooo salty. One more thing, the cajun fries, although it was very well seasoned, and batter made the fries very nice and crispy, however, it was also too salty. It wasn’t as bad as the gumbo, but if I’m not starving, I’d send it back. Only things I really enjoyed was the boiled shrimp with the extra spicy sauce and fried okras. If it wasn’t for the sweet BOGO deal, it would have probably left a salty taste in my mouth. If ya know what I’m sayin’.

I came here to eat one night with my husband because I was craving some Cajun shrimp and I heard about the promotion going on: Buy 1LB get a LB free of shrimp or crawfish. When we arrived, we were nicely greeted by the Carolyn, the manager & she continued to take us to our seats. My husband and I ordered a dozen raw oysters and 1LB of the spicy Cajun shrimp with corn and potatoes and 1LB of the spicy Cajun crawfish. Of course we got another 2LBS for free. The Kumiai oysters were very crisp and sweet. The Cajun sauce here is delicious & much better than boiling crab due to the fact it’s not very watered down. Also their shrimp is much bigger than those served at Boiling Crab. The corn was super sweet that we had to order another one because it was just delicious ! Servers were very attentive and very friendly. They checked up on us often and refilled our glasses whenever we needed a refill. I had a great experience dining here and I will definitely come back!
