Last year this place was ok, but we went again this year and the whole experience was pretty appalling. No one greeted us, the waitress was clueless and unhelpful. Totally forgot parts of our order. There was mold on the curtains. The food was edible, but in general, the experience was pretty disgusting. Suggest that there are some significant management issues here.

Let’s just say that my experience this year compared to last year was a total 180. The overall service was awful!!! We were never greeted, sat ourselves, numerous server errors to list, mold on the curtains and there was no lock on the men’s room door. I hope this isn’t they way this place is heading, because it could be great.

Very cool place that has great fish sandwiches and po boys. The bartender recommended a great local beach to try out and we loved it. We haven’t been yet for the drinks and live music on the weekends but if that is anything like the experience we had at lunch it is a must go to. We will be going back there!

Beautiful location. Slow service and mediocre food(at best). The inside looks likes a frat house. Outside deck is a pretty vista. However, there are no lights on the deck so once the sun set, we were left eating in the dark, with only ambient light from the interior. Ordered cocktails, they were delivered 20 mins later. Ordered chowder, stuffed quahogs and buffalo wings for apps. Was told they were out of chowder and quahogs(how does that happen on the Cape??). Wings arrived charred — no buffalo sauce. Fried oysters proved to be a tiny portion. There were no utensils/napkins provided on our table. Grabbed a basket from another table. All it contained was knives. Asked for forks, they arrived 10 mins later. 3 pizzas ordered for the table. Two were fine. The third(Margerita) we needed to inquire as to the status. Were told it was in the works and then had a grilled chicken pizza delivered instead. Such a bad experience. Would never return.

Fun atmosphere. Food was average. Definitely bustling and had water views. We would try a few other places before I came back. But overall not bad.

Their food has gotten much better this summer! Pizzas are great, onion rings are hand cut and delicious and their homemade quahogs are flavorful! I love the atmosphere, whenever friends come to town to visit I take them here. The outside patio is beautiful, overlooking the marsh, and if the weather isn’t great, the inside is homey and has the classic«cape cod» feel. Drink prices are reasonable. Don’t expect anything classy. They don’t have glass bottles and they serve their wine in plastic cups but the pours are large! It’s a perfect laid-back, after the beach restaurant/bar.

Four star rating was based strictly on the food… got there about 8:30 on a Sunday evening and it sounded like a dance club when we walked in. Hip hop blaring and some younger customers dancing right where we had to walk thru to get to our table, kinda weird. But the waitress was ok, and food was actually amazing. The only thing that ruined it a little was that we could see in the kitchen, and in between order the cooks(teenage boys) stood around drinking beer. One even sat on the counter(food prep surface). Even with all this tho, I’d go back for the fish tacos… pretty amazing! Overall it’s worth a try if you’re visiting West Dennis.

I’m all for«rustic charm» — and it indeed had that — but it was also outright filthy — every wall, floor and window. The tables were sticky. The location was gorgeous, right on a river near the ocean, with outdoor seating right at the water’s edge. Service was incredibly SLOW — it took a solid hour until our food arrived, and it was so difficult to get a drink refill that I left thirsty and had a half-a-leftover seltzer can in my car in the parking lot. When the food arrived — it was a bit below«marginal». Clam strips were overlooked to the point of being nearly burnt. My BBQ chicken pizza had so much sauce it was clearly made by someone who didn’t understand what the correct proportions were — and it was a big, sweet soupy mess.

The Sand bar is a fun, casual spot right outside of West Dennis beach. You can eat outside or inside, and the picnic tables outside have a beautiful view of the water and sunset. Come as you are after the beach or dressed in casual summer clothes for great food at very reasonable prices. They have a good band most nights of the week and the music starts around 930/10pm. Great for families, groups of friends or a fun cape date!

Our new most favorite spot! Food is good, the outside atmosphere is amazing watching the sun set behind the marsh! We got the lobster roll and plenty of meat and came out in the blink of eye! Some of the best chowder I’ve had in the Cape :) highly recommended for a fun, atmosphere!

Mom and I stopped in after a day at the beach. The mudslide was killer. Mom loved her Mark West Pinot Noir. We enjoyed the great raw bar. An sweet Irish kid was shucking and at 1.00 per littleneck, it’s a great deal. Sweet waitresses and waterside views. fun spot… enjoy it while it’s open. I’d go for a drink and views. and raw bar.

Let’s all try and get their rating up to 4 stars. I stopped in for lunch on a Friday, not many people there, but the girls that work there are sweet. I had fish tacos and chowder which were great. The chowder is more brothy than creamy, and good. Fish tacos were large and good too. I’ll come back for live music later, but the lunch experience is fantastic.

The Sand Bar gets the basics of the Cape Cod seafood shack right: good service, cold beer, and perfectly executed seafood. We stopped here for lunch after a morning on the West Dennis Public Beach, which is just a short walk from the restaurant. We were seated at a picnic table under a big shady umbrella on the outdoor patio, which features a view of the pretty marshlands adjoining the beach. We ordered the lobster roll($ 17.50), the Peacemaker(~$ 14), as well as a few beers to wash them down. The lobster roll was all lobster, and overwhelmed the bread, just the way we like it. The Peacemaker is the restaurant’s version of an oyster po’ boy, and featured nicely fried oysters and a pretty good remoulade. We were less impressed with the sides — the cole slaw was overdressed with mayonnaise, the fries were just OK and appeared to be pre-frozen, and the pickles were soggy — but we didn’t come for the sides and the well-prepared sea creatures more than made up for these deficiencies. We plan on stopping here again for lunch the next time we are in West Dennis.

We were at lighthouse inn for a wedding and went to this bar two nights in a row with a very rowdy/lively crowd. We had the best time! The staff was very understanding of our celebrating and the night of the wedding we all came back(bride and groom too) and they happened to have a live band that was so fun and played late for us! The food was amazing. I had a lobster roll that was delicious! Many of the wedding party went back for lunch too! Thank you thank you for a great spot to celebrate!

We had an amazing time here! Shocked by the bad reviews some have left. If you want something fancy… go to Nantucket! This place is perfect. The service was GREAT! Food was exactly what we were looking for. I got the clam strip platter… he the fish and chips… both tasty! I do wish they were more generous with the cold slaw;-) Great live musician outside too! A+++ Sand Bar!

Went here on a Monday night on a recent trip down the Cape. We were looking forward to a few good drinks and some food after getting settled in, and the live music seemed to be a bonus. The band was great. Great song selection of today, and songs from the past that you may have forgotten about. The place was pretty hot, but nothing a nice cold beverage wouldn’t cure. It wasnt overly packed, but we waited about 10 minutes for the bartender to acknowledge us.(Red Flag) We ordered our drinks and glad we ordered the tall. Seemed to be a standard drink size. I can’t imagine what the short would be. When getting our drinks, the bartender asked us if we wanted to eat. We were starved, so we were happy to take a look at the menu. We decided to split a pizza. Well, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes go by and still hadn’t been asked what we wanted to order for food, nor if we wanted another drink.(MAJOR Red Flag). Meanwhile, I hear a group at the bar next to us being told their food order would take a lot longer… they left. Our drinks were empty for the last 5 minutes of the painful wait. We were hungry(and thirsty). She finally comes back and asks if we are all set. Ummmm.yep. Sooo all set. So we ordered the check in lieu of the food. Then waited about 7 minutes for that. This was typical and to be expected at this point. Got the heck out of there and went to a local Irish pub and got drinks immediately, and they opened the kitchen for us and got us fed. Long and short, great location and great music. Service needs to be majorly stepped up.

I used to take my kids to Breakfast here before the Murphy’s took it over. It’s a great location and the views are spectacular. We stopped by for a mid afternoon snack with drinks. I can walk to the place and at least spending sometime in movement offsets feeding my face. Ordered up some Absolut & Tonic’s. I understand why they serve in those little, airline style plastic cups. It’s an place where you can go outside but there’s got to be a better, non-glass option. If you’re going with a drink here, suggest you order up a side of soda water or still water to fill your thirst. She didn’t skimp on the pour though. We ordered Buffalo Wings and Calamari. The fish was from a frozen package, which I expect when it’s ordered at a bar. The breading of these really didn’t have much flavor. It would be nice if some restaurateur offered a grilled option like is available in many Japanese restaurants. The wings were really good. A smokey and spicy sauce that seems unique. If you’re a fan of wings, these are worth it. A great addition to the menu would be nachos. Overall, a decent beach place. Great ambiance but definitely not a place for the kiddos. Worth a stop by.
