The food is decent, although nothing special. I got the fisherman’s platter, which looks very large, but is mostly fish and chips, while my wife got the lobster ravioli, which was not bad but mushy. It was a Saturday night, and there was a(mediocre) singer in the bar, and the amplification was so loud we could hardly hear each other talk at the opposite side of the restaurant. The service was decent, but not outstanding.

Came here on a Tuesday night around 7pm. We got seated quickly but then it took almost ten minutes for the waitress to come over. Once she did the service was great. Food was typical American and seafood. Portion size for chicken park was huge! Bit disappointed in the chicken dish-it was one small breast with basil and mozzarella and a baked potato for $ 17. The rest of the prices were about average for the type of place on the cape. Nice spot to try but probably won’t be a returning favorite.

We ate at this place twice on our vacation — the first night we got in because we needed a place to eat at ten at night and they were the only place open, and the next night when my boyfriend’s family wanted to eat there. The first night we did take out, which we had to awkwardly stand there as drunk people dance around us lol. I wish we could’ve had a place to sit to wait for our take out. But the portions were HUGE. I think they may have put an entire fish on my sandwich(I got the cape cod sand which and my boyfriend got the grilled chicken sandwich). They tasted good too, but the roll got really soggy since we did take out and made it hard to eat the fish sandwich. The next day when we actually had a sit down dinner there, the place got crowded fast, so I recommend getting there early since they don’t take reservations. I had the hot lobster roll which was okay — the lobster was a bit overcooked. I also wish they offered a vegetable as a side… The only vegetable they had to offer was asparagus which was an extra 3.99. Overall a decent experience, but not anything to rave home about. Seems like it’s an awesome place to come with friends, though. They had an outdoor bar with a raw bar, and the bar inside was extremely crowded as well.

Service was good however the food was average compared to the price. Like the location and setup was hoping for more.

Chose this restaurant on a whim! Great time and great meal. The lobster roll and the fresh steamed lobster were excellent. We will come back again!

My family and I have been going to Chapin’s ever since it was named Clancy’s. Their seafood is undeniable delicious, hands down. I ordered steamers and rice pilaf on the side. Their steamers can be wash and rinse out more. I had a couple of steamers and I got a mouthful of sand. Their rice pilaf was way too dry for my preference. I had a first piña colada(first cocktail since I turned 21) and it was delicious!!!

Quintessential fish house. The ambiance was fun. Quickly seated indoors there was a bit of a wait for outdoors.(Early on a Saturday night) Food and service was good. Lobster roll was very good. Fries good. Would come back.

Come here every summer with my family. Waitstaff is friendly, efficient, and attentive. I always get the steamers, and house salad with seared scallops. I am never disappointed. They have a kids menu, and a grassy yard for kids to run around in while they wait. Great family-friendly dining. Be prepared to wait on weekends for dinner.

Went here with good friends for an early dinner 4th of July week and can I just say YUM! I have driven by this restaurant for over 20 years… and never stopped in, well am I glad they recommended it! It was so yummy… we sat outside on the«lawn» and there is a great side yard big enough for kids to run around and get out their energy waiting for dinner. We started with wings(2 kinds bbq and spicy Asian), yum, then we ordered a plate of steak tips as an app… and it came with delish homemade chips… the drinks were great I had a raspberry colada that was delish! Next came the meal, all 5 adults had the hot lobster roll on a brioche bun which was the sweetest most succulent lobster with drawn butter, and the roll was untoasted and perfect! that also came with a side of your choice… I recommend getting chips to go because those were yummy the next day! The kids meals were great they ranged from hot dogs, chicken fingers and steak tips(yay for having a kids portion of steak tips!)… The service was great, she was efficient and quick, and super friendly… she didn’t even mind when the kids asked for their own table! Definitely a must do when you are on the Cape… will certainly be back for more…

Love this place. Be prepared for a long wait, especially on the weekends. Family friendly fish restaurant with a nice selection of non fish items for those who prefer meat. I had the hot lobster role and the table shared fried calamari, mozzarella sticks and fried shrimp. Everything was done to perfection. The shrimp were large and nicely coated in batter. Calamari was perfectly done with a great dipping sauce. Loved the portion on the hot lobster role. Service was great despite how busy it was. The waitress offered to split the bill into small checks which was very nice of her.

Wife & kids went last Saturday night. Waitress was terrible. Had to ask to place order. Our apps came after the meal was on the table which was 40 minutes after it was ordered. Sat with an empty beer for 20 minutes. Other tables in our area were clearly experiencing similar issues with incomplete orders and slow service. Perhaps beginning of season gremlins but I won’t be back. Food was a notch above ok with generous portions.

Do not go here for dinner! I have Never had such bad food on Cape Cod! The swordfish was not edible. It was tasteless and raw. Asparagus(3.99) was hard and cold. The wine was cheap house wine at $ 9.00 a glass. Everything about the experience was terrible! Too many good restaurants(Scargo, Marshside, DiPalmas, Norabella) What a waste of time and hard earned money! The Chapins in Dennis is much better! I wouldn’t even have given it one star if I didn’t have to.

This restaurant changed names(and assuming hands) three seasons ago. It used to be called Clancy’s. I’m assuming it was run by the same people who run Clancy’s on Swan River in Dennisport. Now that it is called Chapin’s I assume it is run by the people who run Chapin’s on the north side of Dennis near Mayflower Beach. We have gone there a couple of times and enjoyed it so we thought we would try the«new location». We never went there when it was Clancy’s, but now have been there a handful of times under the new management. First, this place is great for kids and there are lots of them there. The kids menu is priced nicely and portions are big enough for an adult. They is a great open grass yard off the back dining room where kids can run around while they wait for a table or when they are done with dinner. You even see the occasional wiffle ball game. The«yard»(weekends only?) has a raw bar(at dinner time?) and is a nice place to have a drink and scarf some tasty oysters or clams. There is almost always a wait for dinner. It gets crowded and there is a reason. The food is solid and priced right. The Chapin Cobb is delicious and the fish and chips have been stellar. Service for us has always been friendly and food has been timely. Portions are enormous and could easily be split. We will go back and would recommend to anyone.

Perfect family place. Reasonable prices, good food and a lot of choices on menu. Also a separated bar from dinning too with music. Outside sear seating too. No complaints here.

Atmosphere: Great for kids. There was live acoustic guitar. Awesome side yard where kids could play while waiting to be seated. Food: Maybe slightly above average. Clam chowder was decent. Fisherman Platter has good cod, scallops. Clams not so good. Steak tips were good. Service: below average. They tried to seat our party of 13 on 2 small tables with setting for 9. We had to pull another empty table over quickly before it was seated ourselves. Had to ask for everything twice. Dinner served on paper plates. When app came, we had no plates and couldn’t find waitress to bring over before it got cold. Waitress was overwhelmed. Young girl… tried her best, but she should have had help. Value: A+. My wealthy brother in law picked up the entire bill.

Great Location, okay food. Terrible service. We watched the U.S. Vs. Belgium World Cup game and had cranky servers in an empty restaurant. If you appreciate a smile an helpful staff… go somewhere else.

Let me list some of the things that made this dinner one of the worst of the year: –horrible service –overpriced food But I guess the food was okay and the venue was nice and it was clean but I am not looking forward to seeing all those people sitting without food and drinks while the waitresses were talking to each other and watching the TV that was on. Defiantly are not looking to go there again

Crappy just like Chapins restaurant. Went a couple days ago with my friends our waitress(rachael i believe) was awful! It was 6 of us we sat outside, I asked for a grey goose kamikaze, neither she nor the bartender knew what that was apparently because when I tasted it, it tasted like a vodka margarita. I would say I sent it back but our waitress was nowhere to be found… waiting…waiting…all of our drinks and waters are empty and still nothing. I finally realize that I can see through the window and there she is! sitting and eating with other staff with her mouth full of food and our drinks empty. Not wanting to interupt her lunch I went up to the bar where the bartender told me he put sour mix in my drink because I asked if maybe it was roses lime juice he used which I hate but sometimes happens, he said no its sour mix… theres no sour mix in that drink but whatever i got a glass of wine instead, finally our waitress comes out doesnt say a WORD about that wine sitting in front of me, she was terrible, food was bland and overpriced, wont go back. sometimes happens
