Walked by the place 1000 times; I live two blocks away, and my grocery store and bank are just past the place… but for some reason it never piqued my interest. Perhaps that’s primarily because there’s a badass fish taco shop at the bottom of my hill, and hungry Sean doesn’t make it past the place… So tonight, heading to the place on the bottom of the hill for fish tacos(told ya’), my buddy got a hankering for a cheesesteak. Fair enough. He’s a good sport and generally goes where I want, so I don’t want to be ‘that guy’ and always have my way. Alright, Yip Yip, we’ll grab cheesesteaks. You know what… good call. I perused the menu and saw a steak and bacon sandwich(evil)… almost gave in. Then I saw a steak and shrimp. Jackpot. Was it the best cheesesteak of my life? No, but I grew up outside of Philly, that’s a tall order. Was it good? Yeah, it was. Would I go back. Sure would. One of my top places in WeHo? Not really… but it was a nice change of pace, and maybe once a month I’ll pop in, grab a cheesesteak, have a nice low-key dinner. Servers were nice too…

omg where the hell’s the meat? it’s mostly bread&drippy sauce! they need to change the name of this place cuz it’s more like ‘korean bbq steak’ cuz the owners&chefs are korean&i’m pretty sure they’ve actually NEVER had a real ‘philly cheese steak’ ever– so all their stuff actually tastes like korean bbq(w/some cheese&lettuce tossed in) sandwiches. why not serve kimchi on the side, hello?

** This review is solely for Philly Steak Depot’s delivery service ** I’m a member of a non-porn book club in West Hollywood, and at every meeting our members have food delivered from any number of eateries… What I’ve noticed over the course of maybe three or four occasions that PSD has been selected is that they deliver very quickly — and the drivers are always courteous and smart, regardless of asinine directions given by dull ditzes discussing Dostoevsky, Dos Passos, or dresses on Project Runway. I haven’t tried all the different kinds of food, but the assorted steak sandwiches all seem to be iterative versions of the same thing, with varied toppings/fattings; ie, greasy onions, cheese, mayo, etc. Think Arby’s, and roast beef on everything. Actually, don’t. PSD tends to run a bit expensive for what it is, and how much you get. You could eat at Dennys or IHOP more, for less. (Though, if you DO eat at those places, I applaud your courage, sweetheart) If you’re a vegan or working on it to get a hot vegan into bed(you’re such a dirtbag!), the steak French fries are good with ranch dressing. So, if you’re planning your dream wedding and want it to be classed up hardcore — there’s a tip for you. I haven’t eaten in the actual restaurant but I’ve run by it countless times along Santa Monica Blvd during my evening jogs. It looks a bit iffier than Subway but cleaner than a liquor store ten minutes before closing. Sometimes there’s a homeless guy outside who will inform you that Guatemala is planning a nuclear attack against San Vicente Boulevard. Oh, Maya goodness… Consider yourself warned.

I have a request for this place… go to your prep station right now and pick up one of the slices of turkey you put on your sandwiches. Note the wet texture and pale color, and the lack of any smell whatsoever(shouldn’t food smell like *something*?). Now take a bite, and note the lack of firmness and texture. And the taste? Well… there is none. These turkey slices have absolutely no flavor whatsoever. They don’t look appetizing, they don’t smell appetizing, they don’t offer a pleasing texture and are totally lacking in flavor. Is that supposed to be appetizing? Seriously… does that make you want to eat more of it? Put some of it on a piece of bread with mayonnaise and cheese and you’ll think you ordered a mayonnaise and cheese sandwich. I ordered a «club» sandwich… but what I ended up with was a roll with bacon stuffed in it, and some mushy substance that I knew was supposed to be turkey, only because I knew I’d ordered a club sandwich. I understand why airlines and schools and other places that offer food, but it’s not their primary business, would use this particular cold cut. But I don’t understand why a place that serves food ASITSBUSINESS would select this and offer it to its customers. A SANDWICH shop, no less. Even Subway has a more flavorful(and less wet, mushy) cut of turkey it uses for its sandwiches. But I can’t see how anyone would bite into that sandwich and think, «Man…the turkey in this sandwich tastes really great and the texture is so pleasant to chew. I’m definitely going back to this place for another one of these beauties.» So my advice is… don’t order a sandwich with turkey. My partner had a steak sandwich, and said it was pretty good. So stick with their specialty and maybe you’ll be okay. I took a few bites of ½ of the sandwich, and dumped the rest of it into the garbage. It was downright unpleasant to consume.

So basically I scalded the top of my mouth on the first bite of the sandwich so be careful when eating. I found the sandwich to be extremely bland despite the bbq sauce.

Like Kevin, I’ve always had them delivered. With that said, I probably order from PSD roughly 4 times a month as it’s one of the few affordable places to eat in WEHO. Philly steak, pepper steak, steak burger, chili cheese dog, Korean bbq plate, breakfast burrito are all part of the monthly rotation. But there are days when the listed menu items just aren’t enough for my yearning taste buds. If you’re tired of the regular menu items, next time try a pepper steak over rice, which is steak, onions, peppers, and cheese over rice. Or a jersey cheese steak; onions, pepper, cheese and pastrami on a roll or over rice. Chili cheese onion rings find their way in the bag on certain Friday afternoons, especially when I’ve had too much to drink the night before. The staff’s very accommodating and nice, delivery service is very fast, and the food is just what I need to fill out my pleasantly plump ass. And if the girls at the PSD happen to read this… you probably know who I am by now by my ridiculous orders, so next time I order Korean bbq plate, can you hook me up with a little kimchi???

I am a big fan of this place for the hangover quick fix. I’ve been ordering delivery from the Weho location for years and it’s always fast, and the delivery guy is very nice. It’s not exactly an authentic philly cheesesteak, but it does the trick.

* Note that I had them delivered, so I’ve never been * With that said, the Review! Amongst all«Philly» Steak places, THISPLACEISTHECLOSESTTOANACTUALPHILLY! The meat is tender and the bread is soft, the cheese wasn’t whiz, but with onions, made this the best«philly» steak sandwich I’ve had anywhere in LA. They have quick delivery and the 14″ is very filling, I will say though do not order their fish and chips, it is definitely NOT worth it, $ 6.50 for 2 pieces of fish, soda, and a TON of fries. Those who nay say the Depot’s philly here have never eaten an actual Philly, Be aware of those who have the majority of their reviews as 1 stars, they may not have the tongue for good cuisine. So please stop by here or have them deliver cause their 14″ Philly is well worth the $ 9. Enjoy!

I was really hopeful about this place as I pass it all the time but have never been in. I decided to go in and I ordered a philly cheese steak sub. It looked delicious! When I tasted it it was totally bland and the cheese tasted a little funky. Honestly you’re better off going to Pavilions next door and buying some steak umms…

i wents to philly fun steak depot and got chicken nuggets to go. they were ok but it was around 3 buxx which i thinks is kind of alot for a serving of chicken nuggets. the rest of their menu seemed pretty run of the mills. i don’t thinks anything is a good value there but the location is convenient so for that reasons it will probablies stick around and when i’m not in the moods for pizza or whatever else they has around the area, philly fun steak depot will be the destination. :/

I didn’t order a Philly Cheese Steak but there turkey burger was really delicious and big in size. The fries were cook just right and was a good amount for the price. Very friendly & funny staff. Looking forward to coming back to this location.

So after the first steak depot fail i decide to give the other location a try… because its all about location right? Whatever. So there’s no real big difference between the two of them but the freshness is was more apparent here, bread was much softer and steak was still a little fresher. still not a philly cheesesteak but its descent for a good lunch sandwich, oh and the burgers here are pretty descent. You know one thing that pisses me off about alot theses cheesesteak joints is when you ask them to put salt & pepper on your meat the say we cant & «you have to add it your self»?? Wtf that makes me irate!!! The sandwich can never develop the flavor level its supposed to with out those two hard to find intricate right in front of you ingridients???

Meh, this place is nothing special. I ordered the philly cheese steak and it was your standard cheese steak. I’m pretty sure they didn’t use quality beef, so that might be the major drawback, but hey, you get what you pay for. The fries aren’t bad, though. The place is Korean owned, so don’t be surprised when you walk in and see a really random menu. Aside from a large offering of cheese steaks, they have boba(bubble tea, for my more civilized East Coast homies), Korean BBQ, terriyaki bowls, and chicken nuggets. This is definitely one of those places where I can safely say… I came, I ate, I left… probably to never return, unless I’m super drunk from a wild night partying with my gay best friends in West Hollywood.

I don’t know where these other reviewers ate or what they ate, but I have been a few times. Ordered the cheese steak. First, they should remove the term Philly from their name and menu. Tony Luke’s this isn’t. It might be okay if they would cook the meat, nothing worse than a bloody cheese steak. I also don’t really care for red ants running around the wrapper, it is white and you can see them. Enjoy!

I don’t think many other places can serve killer philly cheese steaks, burgers, chili cheese fries, fresh salads, hoagies, teriyaki plates and others of unlike variety! It’s the one stop shop to absolute random deliciousness and the prices are very reasonable. They have outdoor seating so very pup friendly :) I love their Caesar salads and cheese/chili cheese fries. Also a fan of the mushroom philly cheese steak and their hoagie sandwiches. If you in the mood for Asian they also serve steak and chicken teryaki plates or bowls… and hotdogs, breakfast items & boba tea. Can’t get much better!

Yum! We love this place for lunch at the office! Delivery is pretty quick, the staff who take your orders are great and theres a wide range of meaty sandwichy delights for everyone. I always get the turkey burger which is surprisingly hearty with their steak cut fries but I know that the rest of the people in my office love getting their double meat sandwiches. Definitely worth a try if you’re working nearby!

Another spot frequented for lunch. This place is a mish mash of random items. Cheese steaks, chicken nuggets, burgers, Korean BBQ, terriyaki bowls… it’s just random and honestly most of it’s good! If I’m feeling fatty this is definitely where I go. Also, when you stumble into work after a long night out, this is the perfect cure. They also serve breakfast which is available til noon, so for a couple hours you have a plethora of options. Now I haven’t had a Philly Cheese steak anywhere else so I can’t compare. But I love them here!

If this place opened in Philadelphia and tried to pass off their version of a «Philly Cheese Steak» I think the owners might get tarred and feathered, then run straight out of town. If you are from the Philly area do not order the cheese steak. You will be disappointed to the point of anger. In all fairness, their burgers, cold sandwiches, and salads are just fine. You just can’t call your self«Philly Steak Depot» and serve this. It is insulting. To the owners I recommend a little trip to Philly for R & D. Please visit«Pat’s» &” Geno’s”, they are right across the street from each other in South Philly. You can ask anybody for directions once you’re in Philly. If you can’t do the research please change your name to the Burger, Sandwich & Salad Depot. That would be more appropriate.

Getting crunk and eating one of these gut bombs makes for a nice little disaster… in a semi-positive way. This place serves pretty descent, inexpensive, rather large portion philly cheesesteaks. They deliver, so we have their menu quite handy. Minor note: If you want your sandwich without onions and bell peppers(aka little green devils in my book), good luck. There is a high chance that when ordering take out you will not get your order the way you want it. Carry on Unilocalers…
