If you go here, ready some earplugs, the music will destroy your ears. You cant interact with anyone, drinks are overpriced(but that goes for any club), a lot of groupies-so go with friends or you won’t have a good time. I dont think Ill go again.

Very roomy here and lovely patio, very nice on a summer night! The DJ was good and there was lots of dancing. Didn’t stay here too long but it was a fun night while it lasted!

Large enough place, with plenty of people. but I think I just didn’t like the crowd? Music is your typical top 40s and hiphop with some house… not much a fan actually. I give it two stars…

Okay. I am a little late with this review, and not even sure if this club is still around anymore… But just wanted to share my experience with those of you that wants to go to Apple(if it is still around)… I went to Apple with high expectations back in June 2009 with a bunch of friends for a birthday party. Yes, we had a huge group– 30 girls, 20 guys– All on the guestlist. The promoters were disorganized and there are people trying to cut in everywhere. When they realized how many girls we had, he let all 30 girls in, and ended up telling the guys that«the girls wanted to get in for free and didn’t want to wait for you guys». We were all furious because they were making up lies. They ended up making the guys stand outside for over 2 hours before letting them in. Perhaps it was the grand opening or some sort, but I am 100% positive that it was over its capacity. Drinks were nasty and I almost called the fire department on this place. Would never come back to this place ever again!

The only reason I had a good time here was because it was for my friend’s birthday. We only left our designated reserved area for the bathroom. First thing I want to mention is that we were first placed in a very nice outdoor seating area with a cabana and couches. But then supposedly there was some mix up so we were moved to the back which was half the size and half as nice. sucked. so service blew. I went on a friday night and it just blew in general. It was asian night(i’m asian and i’m saying boo). the crowd consisted of mostly 21 year olds that thought they were the hottest shiz since the 2006 heat wave. the music was okay nothing to be excited about… just your usual top 40 hip hop. i’ve been to soem dive bars, but this was a shithole. don’t got! there are better ways to spend your time.

Was here for one of the new monthly gals night. Been wanting to check out this place for a while. To surprise, this place is quite spacious, two dance floor with 2DJ that night, lots of sitting area in the back room. The whole place is nicely décor, love the corridor area between the 2 dance floor. It is relatively dark in the dance floor area, which I really like. Parking is as usual, the valet lot right outside. Will sure to return next month =)

I like that Apple offers many options — indoor & outdoor, upstairs & downstairs. It gets very packed on Saturday nights, so you get people spilling their drinks on you as they walk by. I liked the music the DJ played. Really nice vibe. Valet is $ 10 and it absolutely sucks. When we were ready to go, they made us walk around from one valet guy to another, around the back of the building, into another parking lot, across the street — until we finally reached our car. I was tired and my feet were hurting after standing for hours!!!

Apple, for what it is, is pretty cool. It’s got an outside seating area for people who like to pay for bottle service. It’s got a huge upstairs bar with lots of space. It’s got a smaller downstairs dance room. The DJ had some good music, but as usual, wasn’t great at transitioning. Since I came with a group that got us past the bouncer no problem and had paid for the bottle service(which equal a couch to sit on) it was a pretty good time, for what it was… But let’s take a step back and really consider what these Hollywood clubs are. First, no matter how hard you try, going to these is an expensive event. First, you get dressed up, because God forbid you’re not dressed right and you get turned away due to their dress code. Then you drive or cab over to the club(I’m skipping the before-clubbing activities). Driving means you have to find parking, which usually takes anywhere from three days to thirteen weeks. Then you have the privilege of turning over your car to some stranger, so he can park it behind the building, all for a very«reasonable» fee. Finally you’re in the club! Right? Wrong! You’re outside. Whether there’s a line or not, you’re still waiting outside. Why? Because if they let you in right away, that just wouldn’t be cool, and you would never come back. So you wait. And you try to charm/bribe/lie your way in. But the bouncer is huge and wise, he’s heard them all before and the air is so purified up there, he can smell right through your tricks. So you wait. Finally, if you’re one of the chosen ones, you’ll be admitted. At which point you get to punch, shove, kick, and push your way through an immobile wall of people in, what you hope, is the direction of the bar. IF you get to the bar, you get ignored by the bartender, unless you have money hanging out of your ears, or you’re an attractive member of the opposite(or same) sex, depending on the bartender’s preference. Finally you order a drink and watch as the bartender splashes a couple ounces of alcohol into a cup and charges you $ 10 plus for it. It’s almost as sad as watching all your chips go down that huge hole on a Vegas roulette table. Now you’ve got your drink in hand, and you get to kick, bite, punch, slam and poke your way away from the bar. All the while you’re trying to balance your drink and having other people’s drinks spilled on you. By the time you’re out of the crowd, you’ve either managed to consume your drink(all that shoving makes you thirsty), or if you’ve(more likely) spilled it on a dozen other people. Either way, your glass is empty and you’re ready to repeat the process of getting to the bar. But that’s not all. If you want, you can go dance. Of course, the average club goer is not as coordinated or thoughtful as the movies will have you believe, so even if you know how to dance(which I don’t), you won’t get the chance because there are just too many people. The best you can do is sway back and forth and hope that drunk couple who keeps making out and falling on people will stay away from you. Good luck! After all that you’re tired and want to rest your wary feet. There are plenty of couches, please sit down. Except wait! If you want the privilege of sitting down, you’re just going to have to buy bottle service. What’s that? Well, it’s where you pay hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars for the rare opportunity of drinking from a $ 50 dollar bottle of alcohol and sitting on a couch. What a bargain! Finally, it’s getting close to 2am and it’s time to go. You walk outside, get ignored by the valet for a while(unless you’ve got money coming out of ears) and finally get your car. Then you drive away praying that the rest of the drivers brought a designated driver, because you don’t remember anyone in the club who had the motor skills to walk across the street, let alone operate a car. Miraculously, you get home, where you realize how bad you smell(by this time you’re wearing about seven drinks) and you collapse on your bed/couch/floor, all in the hopes of waking up at 2pm the next day, to do it all over again!

Apple has been hyped to be the newest hottest place for Hollywood Elite. Its«exclusivity» and supposed«Manhattan lounge» feel wasn’t as I was hoping for. First of all– there are two separate clubs/lounges within Apple. There is Eve, and then there is Apple(I’ve been told that Eve is the VIP area for Apple) Eve is black, and Apple is red. The bouncer at the velvet rope for Eve was very rude to other people(even a group of decently dressed girls) that were trying to get in that didn’t know anyone on the inside, but I was lucky enough to go with a group who had bottle service set up ahead of time. Getting in if you are on the list is an okay experience, if you don’t mind leaving«the others» outside in the cold. Once you walk in you are bombarded by the standard club music that I refer to as «hip-hop-pool-party». The room is dark and musty with the smell of smoke. Black leather couches with tables line the perimeter of the room for bottle service. Bottle service consisted of the usual high end vodka, and mixers of orange and cranberry juice. Waitresses donning tight black shirts with a picture of an apple with the saying«bite me» serviced the tables. Inside, you can find pretty much every type of Hollywood club/lounge goer. Women with too much makeup, and too little clothes on coupled with men wearing studded jeans and Ed Hardy shirts. Or women in classy cocktail dresses with their hair done just so coupled with men in designer jeans, and suit jackets. You get a little bit of everything at Apple… Although I do think there was more of the perfume and studded jeans variety… On the crowded back patio, everyone smokes(which I personally find appalling) and tries to talk to their fellow lounge goers over the music that can be heard from inside. Apple’s patio is packed with Tinseltown hipsters of every variety. A long, beige bench style sofa lines the patio with couples trying to talk over all the usual club noise. I knew I was going home with my hair smelling like cigarettes. After spending some time on the patio taking in the scene, I left the patio to go back into lounge. I was stopped in my tracks for a procession of waitresses holding big sparklers in either hand over everyone’s heads up to a table– which happens anytime bottle service is ordered. I didn’t end up making it to the basement dance area with the red disco ball in the shape of an apple. I was told by my fellow Apple goers that it wasn’t worth my time. Overall? «Celebrity Playhouse» as it was coined by the LA Times… probably not. The bottle service waitresses were slow to refill mixers and to restock glasses and ice. The place was small and crowded– and not in a good way. I do think though, that all Tinseltown nightlife is subjective, and that you should always experience it for yourself if given the opportunity. Thank you for an interesting night, Apple and Eve but I don’t think I’ll be back any time soon. Tips: –Come early– which means before 11:00 –Dress exceptionally well if you’re hoping to get in by the bouncer’s good graces –Bring your money– cocktails here aren’t cheap. –Go in with your friends to get bottle service– its worth it to have a place to call home base, and to sit and relax. –Guys: Don’t come alone or with other guys. Girls are a necessity for your entrance. They prefer a 3:1 girl/guy ratio. Its just the way it is.

I went to Apple on a Tuesday night after dinner at La Dolce Vita. Overall, it’s an okay hotspot in West Hollywood with some very attractive patrons. Is there depth and longevity here? Probably not, just how it always is with club/lounges in the area. DOOR: Easy to get in on a Tuesday, pretty much because it was almost dead when we got there at 11:30 and freezing cold. The place filled up after a birthday party arrived but that was it. CROWD: Definitely hip, attractive, and kinda standoff-ish. Although everyone looked like they could have been in the latest issue of Nylon, no one was really that into dancing or socializing. It was more of a «stick with your own people» type of crowd versus mingling; people usually only talked to the people they knew, or if they saw someone more interesting. However, everyone was very good-looking and I found the answer to «Where are all the hot guys at?» They’re definitely at Apple. I just don’t know if they’re worth talking to… MUSIC: The DJ was really good; he kept everything to 90 seconds or less so you were always moving, always grooving. There were a couple crazy danceoffs and that was fun, but it felt like an 8th grade dance! When a song came on that nobody liked, people would immediately split to their tables and my girlfriends and I found ourselves dancing almost completely by ourselves in the middle of the dancefloor! It’s like the sea of people instantly parted and I could see the floor. Also, no one really danced with each other and instead stood around and talked. So yes, I felt like I was 13 again. LAYOUT: I like that there is an outdoor patio area and that the stairs to get to the upstairs bar/lounge are not suicidal. It’s a little small and I wish I’d seen EVE on the other side but it was closed that night. Also, the one person bathrooms suck. All in all, Apple is a mellow place to go to on a early weekday if you have nothing to do and you like to dress up for fun(which I do, occassionally), but it’s not my scene. Plus, it seems really cliquey and what’s the point of going out if you’re not going to meet anyone new? There are better executed lounges in the area, definitely.

Hit up Apple on Thursday and had a rather interesting night. Apparently the Hills were filming there, so I saw Audrina, who looked annoyed, probably because drunk people were shouting at her that they’d seen her(pre-op) boobs. Maybe this was why it took us almost half an hour of waiting right behind the ropes to get in. Because it did. And I was cold. And no one gave me any freakin’ eye contact. Come on, people, I’m not as ugly as I look, let me in! Once inside, things were better. There are plenty of areas to move around in, with a couple dance floors and lots of lounge space. Everything felt clean and dry. Truly, bravo. Drinks — I was driving, but judging from the fools I drove — strong. We eventually settled on some couches outside. Very comfortable, and chill enough for conversation with pumping music in the background. Heat lamps kept it warm enough. People-watching was amazing. I love L.A. for the random mix of people, and Apple provided a good showing. There was an incredibly dramatic scene in which a drunk asshole snatched his girlfriend by the… well, that verb was intentional, and proceeded to get very aggressive and verbally abusive with her. After a while, another guy stepped in and there was a fight, replete with thrown alcohol and intervening bouncers. There was some applause when the villain was thrown out. We had a great time and I’ll probably end up coming back, but I don’t know that anything can top the drama of this night. Maybe next time, I’ll get stabbed by a cokehead. That would definitely require an update.

My friends and I actually got into the Apple Lounge just fine, but we didn’t realize that it was connected to Eve(the dance club), so we left to stand in the long line at the Eve entrance – BAD idea! Getting into this club is like getting into Opera/Crimson – funny that they have similar lounge/club setups! Even if you know a promoter, you need to wait for them to actually show up and walk you in. Otherwise, you have to deal with the door guys only letting in old people and people with orange tans. The club itself is TINY with couches surrounding one side of the dance floor and a bar on the other side. There’s a hallway that connects Eve nightclub to the Apple Lounge. My friend managed to talk the door guy into letting us in this«VIP area» in Apple. The dungeon(as I called it) was a room with a bar, small dance floor, some couches, and this huge screen playing random music videos and movies. Either way, it wasn’t worth it! We literally walked in, stayed for 5 minutes, and left. In Eve, the DJ only played house and techno, and everything was mixed into one of those types of songs. The crowd, when we were there that night, was less than stellar and I was actually approached by the same creepy who stalked me at Opera(go check out my review on that place!). We were done with Apple/Eve by 12am, and we got in there around 11pm. If you want to lounge, I’d suggest going across the street to the Abbey. For other dance club alternatives, try Mood in Hollywood.

EPIC fail! Don’t waste your time if you’re looking for a fun/cool club/lounge to hang out at. The doorguys? They apparently think that Jesus himself personally blessed them and that is why they can treat everyone else like crap. Drinks: Overpriced for watered down-ness. Music: Typical Top 40/Hip Hop They think way too highly of themselves. Skip the drama and just go The Abbey or Here.

This review is for the Us Weekly World Première Event that was held here last September! I was invited to a party here last summer that Us Weekly Magazine was hosting. I’m probably rating this place higher that most reviews because I got into this event for free! 3 of my other friends came along as well! We had a lot of fun dancing, eating, and drinking! They were promoting the new SKYY Vodka drinks. Hors d’oeuvres were passed around… the kobe sliders were the best! There are 2 dance floors. The dance floor downstairs was playing really weird techno music and it was very hot, stuffy, and super crowded inside. Upstairs was almost just as crowded but with a bigger bar area and more lounge seating. The outside patios were nice to sit around, but too many people were smoking!!! *cough* But overall we had a really good time! :) Parking can be difficult, but luckily we found street parking! Totally come here if there’s a crazy party! It’s worth it if someone else is paying for the tab! haha: P

I would have given this place 3, or maybe even 4 stars had I not had the world’s-most-offensive interaction with the bouncer my first time there. bouncer to my friend, upon seeing her ny id: well, this wins for fakest of the night. [note: its not.] he then lets her in. me: ha, if you didn’t like hers, you’ll hate mine! [i have a nj id. also not fake] bouncer: don’t speak unless you’re spoken to here, chick. me: oh, ew. once inside, fine. whatever. expensive drinks, but nothing unexpected. also, maybe this is just an east coasters whine, but why do clubs that expect you to dress to the nines have entrances in dirty parking lots? it ruins the magic.

I had so much fun here! I didn’t have to face any over zealous bouncers, my friends and I just walked right in. No problem there. The drinks were pretty expensive at $ 15.00 each or so. I really love what they have done with this space. I remember coming to this venue when it was Pearl and not enjoying it. But, Apple is done over and looks so, so much better! The basement area is a little too dark for my taste, and those dark corners are a little questionable. lol! The music was really good and the people were not snooty and were friendly. I will definitely go back again!

I had a great time on Saturday night at the lounge. The line is short and the wait is long but it’s the only club I’ve been to that was worth the wait. The people were good looking and fun. The only attitude is with the bouncers at the door, which is status quo at most clubs. They’re not too bad though. Good music, good space, strong drinks! Can’t wait to go back before it catches on.

My Unilocaling past has been spent writing positive reviews. Great sushi? I want to share it with the world. A quirky little hotel that deserves more credit than it’s getting? I want to help. I’d rather leave the bad places to fizzle on their own than get all riled up thinking about a negative experience. But Unilocal karma be damned — my night at the Apple was so atrocious that if I could give it zero stars, I would. If this is really where the«pulse of LA nightlife» can be felt, then the scene is in desperate need of some CPR. The cookie-cutter bimbettes in line(ladies, would it kill you to wear something more than just a shirt?) and the absurdly rude door staff should have been a warning. Once inside, our worst fears were confirmed: the Apple is overcrowded, overpriced, pretentious, and totally generic. Even the bartenders looked bored, but that’s probably because they were pouring rum and Diets all night long(and serving them at a snail’s pace). No one looked like they wanted to be there, least of all the staff, who acted like we should have kissed their feet for allowing us entry into such a sacred and awesome place. The best advice I can give? Take advantage of the $ 10 valet lot and dash across the street to the Abbey. Spend your money in a place that doesn’t act like it’s doing you a huge favor.

I scrolled around to see what everyone else thinks of this place but«I LOVEDIT»!!! Maybe cus I didn’t eat there??? I went last night. A Thursday night … and this place was poppin’!!!(I’m just gonna have to be straight up here but …) The men … the many, many, HOT, hotter than HOT men, OMG!!! for a straight chick to be in the middle of it, whoa!!! Yes, I questioned many, many times, why are they swinging with the other team??? I loved that I walked in and the smell of the crowd — seriously, it was heavenly. Maybe it was because I got there at about 10pm. It wasn’t too packed but packed enough. Review material time … the crowd? The crowd was mostly of men last night — did I say that already? I loved that there was no cover and there was a club with hot go-go dancers underground.(or in the basement if you really need to know) The outdoor is cozy — beautiful interior design and architecture. I loved the way they upholstered the wall to the right — right before you go upstairs which is probably the restaurant. I liked the space upstairs as well … however, I was disappointed that they didn’t have any signature cocktails. Folks … I liked it! I had good time.(and the eye-candy??? definitely to die for!)
