Sparkling Cleaners

Prompt service but the clothes did not smell like they were dry cleaned. They also ripped a button off my coat.

I was a customer for years and recently moved back to find poor service, late finish times, broken and missing buttons, damaged and lost items. The staff is somewhat friendly on a good day, but unhelpful at resolving issues. I’ve moved on… I miss the convenience, but not the ongoing problems.

I brought my trousers by a Japanese designer to Sparkling Cleaners on 8951 Santa Monica Blvd that’s next to Pavilions this week and they stumped them leaving two holes in the delicate fabric!!!
How can you even think of stumping delicate clothing!!! Will never use your service again!!! My trousers cost over $ 600 and you just destroyed them!

I have gone here for years, unfortunately ½ the time the clothes still have stains on them ! The lady in the front in nice but I wish they would take the time and check the quality of their work.

Pricey but reliable. I go here once a week.

I’m with Chris P on this one… my boyfriend goes here once a week for all his work clothes and he’s never had a bad experience. They are VERY pricey, which is the only complaint he ever has…

I can say I don’t do a lot of dry cleaning, however I do need to get my pants hemmed from time to time. That was the case this past January after I got some clothes for the holidays. A few pairs of Jeans and Pants.
I brought them into Sparkle to get them measured. Everything went fine. I asked for them back a week later, as I had a business trip coming up. No problem I was told.
I went back a day after they were to be done as I like to give an extra day. They were not done (3 of them were there, 1 was not, and unfortunately was the pair I needed for my business trip.)
Got some lame excuse from the lady who works there about their presser being sick yesterday… They will be ready tomorrow. Okay, I will come back tomorrow morning, but I am leaving tomorrow, so I need them. No Problem.
Tomorrow comes around, I wait until I was close to leaving so to give them extra time, and they are still not there.
Another lame excuse that they didn’t get a delivery last night.
A note of advice to the Lady that works there: when your customer is not happy, and the problem is with your company’s service, start your sentence off with ‘I apologize.’ or ‘I am sorry.’ Your lack of ownership of my issue is one of the biggest reasons I will not return.
I will go out of my way to get service elsewhere, they will not get my business in the future.

After moving to LA a few months ago, I was searching Unilocal for a nearby dry cleaner to my house. After reading several negative reviews of this place, I was extremely skeptical to go here, but because it is walking distance I decided to give it a try to see if the reviews of bad customer service and expensive service rang true.
What I have found, personally, has only been great service (for dry cleaning and alterations) and the price per garment is very affordable. I have never had an issue with lost garments or bad customer service. The alteration I asked Sparkling Cleaners to complete for me was exactly what I asked for (tricky hem, for those people who know their hems) and the price was not outrageous — I believe it was $ 12 or something.
I continue to use Sparkling Cleaners on weekly basis for my dry cleaning needs with zero problems time after time. I would certainly recommend this dry cleaners to friends.

The people who work here are not unfriendly, but they don’t exactly go out of their way to make you feel welcome. However, the most frustrating thing about their level of service is their unprofessionalism — they always close before their posted closing time. I use them because they are located conveniently close to my office, but if you are going to close at 6:50 every day then don’t advertise that you are open until 7pm. Ruuude!
Convenience was really the only reason I used these guys. The quality of their work does not exceed what is available from other, lower priced cleaners in the area. I have been victimized no less than three times by them closing early, but no more.

Worst dry cleaners in all of LA. First, minimum of 3 days, pushing for 2 is a struggle. Then you pick up and they say only part is ready because the machine broke. Then after some yelling, she says «let me look again» and surprise… The pants are done! Don’t tell me the machine is broken if you are simply illiterate and can’t read numbers. Finally, charge $ 24 for 6 shirts and 1 pant? Go out of business please so we can get a quality partner in this area.

I recently brought in a dress that had a small stain on it. They said it would cost $ 12.50, which is a lot, but I figured it’d be worth it to get the stain out. And, really, it would have been worth it… had they gotten the stain out. I just have to echo the other reviews that are below. The woman quickly took my $ 12.50 before I got a chance to look at the dress, which still had the stain clear as it was when I dropped it off. I said, «Oh, so the stain didn’t come out?» She sort of shrugged and handed me my change, and walked to the back, even though I was still standing there waiting for at least some acknowledgement that I basically just paid her $ 12.50 to house my dress for the weekend. I really don’t think they even attempted to clean it.

I had two pairs of pants altered here — expensive $ 12.50 each — the most I’ve ever paid.
Also I took a bunch of work shirts to be ironed — they were already clean. i asked how much just for ironing, I was asked, «Are these men shirts or women’s shirts?» I said why does it matter?, It’s just for ironing?” He replied, «for men’s shirts, it’s $ 2.50/shirt, for women“s shirts it’s $ 5.50.» I asked, «why is the price so different, they are both just cotton shirts?» He said, «its just what we charge, no real reason that I know of.»

I will never use this cleaners again, I think it’s clearly discrimination!

I’m honestly surprised by the number of negative reviews for Sparkling Cleaners. This has been my go-​to dry cleaners for well over ten years now, and I’ve never had a bad experience. These folks have gotten wine, grease, motor oil, blood, cat pee, and just about every other stain and odor out of my clothing without missing a beat.
Tailoring service isn’t great if you’re looking to have a suit or sophisticated piece perfectly sized for you, but they do a good job of hemming and seam repairs. Counter service isn’t exactly like walking into «Cheers,» but I’ve never been treated rudely or poorly here.
And my favorite part is that compared to other dry cleaners in WeHo, Sparkling is much cheaper for the same quality final product.

Love these guys. They got a HUGE red wine stain out of a pale, very delicate silk dress. They also do weekly pick-​up and delivery which means one less thing on the «to do» list. Who doesnt like that?

They lost a bunch of my shirts but claimed I had picked them up. Bad attitude, I will never be back. They could have offered a credit on the theory «the customer is always right» but no. There is plenty of competition to choose from, but beware some of these shops are owned by the same person.

Can’t say I’m a fan of this place. Have been in a couple of times and am thoroughly underwhelmed with the attitude and quality. Yesterday, I picked up three items that I’d brought in for food stain removal, where they had asked for a few extra days so they could «do a good job.» I had agreed to the extra time, but when I picked them up, the stains were as visible as when I brought them in. I pointed this out and they shrugged their shoulders saying, «We don’t promise anything.» No «I’m sorry» or «Gee, let’s try again,» or «Hey, we’ll give you a discount because it didn’t work.» Just a shrug of the shoulders while pointedly fingering the cash register.
Holding up a pair of trousers, I scratched at what appeared to be a spattering of solid food and, voila, it came right off with my fingernail. Why they couldn’t have done the same thing, I have no idea. They also said that they «didn’t use any chemicals on the stains.» Huh? That’s why I went there in the first place. I refused to pay for the trousers which I’d fixed on the spot, and paid $ 10 for two shirts. Rather than being apologetic about it, they didn’t say a word and just glared as I walked out the door. Count me out as a customer.

If you go to a dry cleaners less for their dry cleaning service and more for their alteration sorcery, then it may interest you to know how incredibly fast, courteous, and professional Sparkling Cleaners happens to be when it comes to hemming in, letting out, or slutting up your wardrobe!
Brand spanking new in the renovated Pavilions shopping center at the corner of SanMo Blvd and Robertson Blvd — and still lonely because the neighboring shops haven’t been leased yet (I’d open a shop myself, but I’m guessing the rent’s outrageous, and besides I don’t think there’s much of a market for a skincare store called «Poregasm». Yet.), Sparkling Cleaners has hemmed out a nice little niche for itself in a community where Dorothy’s friends and indifferent, proximity-​related acquaintances can coexist in steamed-​and-​pressed-​while-​you-​wait, all-​major-​credit-​cards-​except-​Amex-​accepted harmony.
Prices are competitive with the average dry cleaning shop — $ 12 for new hems on those insanely tight jeans of yours, $ 8 to sew new buttons on your non-​flasher trenchcoat, $ 40 to take in the waist and shoulders of that gabardine suit you wear when you want to show everyone how you’ve got a grown-​up job. Between $ 3 and $ 10 to steam the lipstick and cognac stains out of that dress shirt, although your significant other might make you pay more if she finds out what you’ve been up to (you animal…)
Speaking of which… Your dresses can be cleaned here, too — no need to worry about the employees carelessly losing the tiny little beads that an angry, foppish Euro-​designer sewed into an intricate pattern on your deep neckline and for which he charged you a month’s salary.
You’re golden, at Sparkling Cleaners. They’re the best, non-​Poregasm store on the SanMo strip that isn’t stripping or drinking related. Win.
